STAY CLEAR! RIP OFF! Dirty, old and where is the boutique?! Customer service non existent! The Oreil room was so dirty, dusty, bathroom mouldy, random stains that look bloody, the bed was so old and uncomfortable and lumpy, you could feel the springs, do they never get replaced?! So called management don't want to do anything about genuine complaints from paying customers, vile behaviour.

This hotel is like home away from home, it is beautifully decorated and is full of amazing little touches feather pillows and duvet, comfy mattress and really nice coffee and tea facilities. The owner is friendly and the location is excellent, I highly recommend this hotel!!!!

This review is in the form of an email that we have sent to them several times and we have called many times, and we have been blatantly ignored by them for months! So posting on here to see if they can respond to us or not. Ruined our valentine's stay, we stayed many years ago and it was excellent, so we thought we'd come back, but it's like a different place now, any high standards have all gone! The room was dirty, sofa full of crumbs, bathroom mouldy, stains, bed was old and one of the worst uncomfortable beds ever, you could feel the springs, and there was dust everywhere in the room. Upon check out, we told all of this to the owner, and he even admitted himself that the 'suite' had been overlooked and not updated or taken care of as yet, so why was it available? I am having to message yourselves again, regarding the really disappointing stay that we had on Friday 14th February. To date, we still have not received a voucher that was discussed and agreed upon upon checkout, and now this is 4 weeks down the line. I am very surprised and disappointed once again that this matter has not been resolved fully. This is not something I expected at all, given that we have had to complain because we did not have an enjoyable valentine's break with you due to the reasons listed previously, and we spent a lot of money on the suite, and it was not clean or comfortable as mentioned previously. I have had to ring and email to chase this up with yourselves, and that isn't acceptable at all, I don't understand why this matter/we are being ignored? As a result, I am now fed up and do not wish to stay with yourselves again due to way this has not been handled, and I would now like to ask for a refund for my disappointing stay. Please can you get back to me as I wish to get this matter resolved without having to chase yourselves again.

Really nice old hotel with history. Great location. The food looked amazing. Didn't eat there. Was 25 for 2 course and 30 for 3 courses. 10 for breakfast

Room was nice enough instructions on email very difficult to follow not sure about having to scan your hand in times of Covid. Didn’t really see the owners room was ok clean and tidy tv didn’t seem to pic up any channels parking away from the property isn’t great but at least at no extra cost.

We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night as we were visiting family in the area. We have two large pooches that they were happy to accommodate. Great room on the top floor with great views of Ruthin and the surrounding hills. The rooms were well appointed and to a high standard. The bathroom was extremely luxurious. Bed was incredible comfy with feather duvet and pillows. There were two dog beds for our pooches and bowls for food and water. We had breakfast in the dining room and not a morsel was left on our plates. Minimal contact with anyone if you’re afraid of covid. Despite this being a dog friendly hotel it DID NOT smell of dogs, not even in our room. Would happily stay here again, even without pooches!

Stayed last night in the suite. Absolutely immaculate! Couldn't fault our stay and will be back in a heartbeat. Very welcoming and accommodating staff. Lovely hotel. The cleanest Hotel room I think we've ever stayed in. Honestly wasn't a spec of dust. Bed super comfy and beautiful view of the courtyard. We didn't eat here as ate whilst attending the festival, but the food did smell delicious when we got in. Really lovely stay and would recommend.

Perfect little boutique hotel and restaurant. The owners were super-helpful both before and during my stay. I stayed in Room 1, which is the small double, but perfect for one person, comfortable and pretty with everything I needed. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and delicious, as was dinner. It's right in the centre of Ruthin, so handy for everything.

We had a lovely weekend staying at Manorhaus. The room was stylish, spacious, clean and comfortable. It is a lovely old building only a minute walk from the centre of Ruthin, which is a pretty town with some fantastic architecture. We eat at the hotel the second night and the food and service were the best. We hope to return soon. Dominic

Stayed here for a week while working in the area. The owners are keen to please and as helpful as they can be. My room was generally clean, warm and well equipped, with a few small issues. The room was not very light in places (this seems to be an increasing issue with hotels!) The mattress on one half of the double bed (two twins together) probably needs changing as it seemed a bit soft and I could feel the springs. I slept on the other half so was OK but if my wife had been with me we'd have struggled. It was good to have plenty of power sockets in the room. The towels were big and good quality and the complimentary locally produced toiletries were a nice touch, though I personally don't like fabric shower curtains. The wall art was awful, but that's personal taste. Photo shows a large canvas above the bed which featured two dirty Morrison's carrier bags hung up. There were other carrier bag canvases in the room too. Odd choice! Breakfast was OK (porridge was good), though the home-made muesli was not filled up for 3 days running. Poached eggs were cooked fresh to order - they were perfect one day and slightly overcooked the other day (no yolk oozing out sadly). The most disappointing thing about breakfast was the coffee, which was not served hot enough. There is a cosy lounge and bar area with real fire and good range of drinks served. The hotel is well located being right in the heart of Ruthin, though you have to park your car about 5 minutes walk away (fine for me, but just be aware).

😐 If I'd never been here before I would have given it 1 or 2 stars. Having waited for fresh fried fish and chips (10 minutes no problem), the fish had hardly any batter on it and what it did have was dark brown/ over cooked. The chips were definitely not freshly cooked, all a bit soft and if anything...

👍 Always good fish but chips occasionally need a bit longer. Double frying the chips would definitely be an improvement. Southern fried chicken is tasty and not greasy. Gravy, curry sauce peas etc always good.

👍👍 Really nice cafe in the craft centre in Ruthin. Price was decent, just over £40 for the four of us with loads of food and drinks. It's dog friendly which is nice. The coffee and hot chocolate is Costa which I like and the food all feels like it's good stuff, not cheap and cheerful - I would expect...
