Doctor

😠 I haven't been able to get an appointment in over 2 years. If I do ever manage to get through to reception, which is often a 2+ hour wait on the phone, the staff are rude and dismiss you. I have entirely given up on ever seeing a doctor here. People often mention appointment, phone, staff, time, call, told, rude, appointments, surgery, system,

Making an appointment is a nightmare over the phone. Somedays rang up to 50 times in 30 minutes and by the time the call is answered there are no appointments. Even poping in at 8.30 at the surgery to get an appointment doesn't guarantee you one. Never trust the text reminder. The initial booking time replaces by the text without the staffs awareness (as they tell you) making you miss the whole appointment.

I am a patient at Boras Park Surgery but due to COVID-19 a patient at Hillcreast Surgery. I called today to make an appointment, caller 15 and waited well over 20 mins to speak to appointments. I was advised that there were no appointments for today and to call tomorrow. I explained that I don't have 20 mins or more to waste calling every day and could I speak to the practice manager. I was told that the Practice Manager was in a meeting and was then cut off as other calls were waiting. This is unacceptable service and is a very poor refection on the NHS I would have been happy to provide my number for the Practice manager to call me back to allow me to raise my concern but was not given the opportunity to request this.

Not sure why is the staff there getting paid for. It has been a massive let down the last few years always been told sorry we can’t help go to A&E or out of hours. Well we are registered with you not worn out of hours and illnesses don’t ask when they come to make your children poorly. No all troubles come at 8:30 in the morning. !

My 17 years son has been trying to get a repeat prescription for 2 weeks now, without luck. After waiting for ages on the phone he was told that someone will call him back. He received a voicemail but couldn’t understand any word of it. He called again and was told someone will call him back again. This time he had no call back or voicemail. I contacted the surgery this morning after being on hold for 30 min I was told that my son had to call again himself at 8:30am the following day and someone will call him back. When I explained that he will but was concerned that this system had not worked for the past 2 weeks. I asked if she could pass this info, I was told that nothing will be passed on and that if I needed to make a complain I should do it to the health board and then she put the phone down. Disgraceful! Now I will make a complain!

Negative aspects. waiting over an hour on hold (and I was number one next in line for 40 minutes) and still didn't get an answer and had to put the phone down. Previously have waited about 45 minutes to speak to someone. On a couple of occasions reception have been rude and one receptionist put the phone down on me. Positive aspects 5/5 - I go regularly to see the nurse to have an injection administered. The nurses and most of reception are lovely and have been very helpful in getting Me last minute appointments when I need them. Always have a positive experience when I see the nurses. They are great at the job and very friendly and welcoming.

Put aside half a day minimum if you phone the surgery. I've been phoning for 4 days. One hour and 45 minutes first time and phone died without getting through. 2 days on a run I was caller 15 that's strange then when you reach caller number 2 that's as far as you get. I suffer with stress and anxiety so not good. They asked me to phone them to review meds before I could be given any but can't get through.

After what was a tough time for the Practice over the past couple of years it finally feels like a quality service has returned. There have been a few things this past month I have needed to phone them about, whether for myself or my 2 sons, and they have offered us a face to face appointment everytime and the new GP's are fantastic. I have seen 3 different ones the last month so it looks like they've finally got the adequate staff to meet the need of the community. It's also brilliant to finally have face to face appointments back.

Called surgery for test results. Caller number 2 in Que. Waited 23 mins to be answered. I was next in line to answered for over 12mins. My wife in the meantime rang on her mobile, was caller number 5 and was answered while I still waited as next in line to be answered?? Go figure. And when actually spoke to receptionist she was very rude and blunt. I asked how the call system works, she said don't ask me I'm not BT and Hung Up. Utter professionalism!!. If you don't want the job of answering a phone politely and with curtesy when dealing with patients, you seriously need to think about a new career. Maybe one were you don't have to answer a phone.

I have twice made a complaint to the board but 2 years later it has not improved, but got worse if that is even possible.. The receptionists are unhelpful, sound totally miserable and bored. However once you manage to have contact with the medical staff they are very good. Saw a locum GP recently!! and he was very helpful. Why can't they get permanent staff. Maybe becauuse the working environment(building, offices is so very depressing..!! hate going there, Have lost all confidence in this service. I mustn't be the only one to try and ignore what might be possibly an important medical issue due to the sheer effort to speak to anyone who sounds that they care. Please can you get some GP's at Borras again.

Would give zero stars if possible. By the looks of these reviews I was one of the lucky ones to actually obtain an appointment although it wasn’t with a GP as requested. The lady I spoke to was extremely rude, kept interrupting me and refusing to open her ears to listen to my concerns. I was concerned about lumps I have found and was told she would refer me for them to be investigated. (14th Feb) When I went for blood tests in May I was told the referral had not been done and that an internal message would be sent to the practitioner asking her to do this asap. When I chased up my referral this month (June) it had still not been done so was informed another GP would ring me to start the process again. The second GP I spoke to said it would be best to send another message to the original practitioner to ask her to contact me as he would need to see me face to face but can’t do this if I take my two very young children with me. The wait continues and I can only hope that the lumps I have found are nothing serious! Absolute shambles. The reception staff are rude and unhelpful. The appointment system is beyond a joke. Mentally draining and time consuming. Lives are being put at risk with their incompetence for sure.

Phoned this morning at 8:30 to try and get a doctors appointment. Had a 10:15am slot. Arrived at 10am and booked myself in. By the time I sat down in waiting room, my name was called. Can't remember who I saw, Beth or Ruth. She was absolutely brilliant. Very thorough with my examination and diagnosis. Thank you again.

Today sept 22nd I spoke to the rudest receptionist I have ever had the misfortune to speak to, she simply would not give me the opportunity to explain and give her the information and reason why I was ringing. It's about time people like her were sent on customer care courses. Just shocking service.

Not impressed at all came 2 months ago as I was in lot pain with heartburn yes Dr hasan helped but not impressed the way he was talking about my autism making it sound I'm not autistic!! It's not on made me uncomfortable. I said I would bring proof of my autism diagnosis but he didn't want to see it. I have all evidence that i have been diagnosed with autism down south wales Not being funny you don't have to look autistic to be autistic and people with autism can talk ok not impressed as I am autistic I do have autism and diagnosis not happy with how I was spoken to! If this happens again I will be taking it further as its not nice and discrimination!! If I ever have appointment again I'm bringing proof of my autism diagnosis as its not on!

The appointment system is broken, can't get through at all after lengthy wait on redial. If you eventually do, no appointments available & told to go to A & E if in pain. On the very rare occasion you can successfully get an appointment care is provided by professionals. One particular Receptionist is rude & aggressive & clearly should not be working in a surgery interacting with patients. If you email the Practice Manager to complain, no response. Shocking system!

Honestly if I could give zero stars I would. I’ve been a patient here since I was a kid and I can’t even put into words how utterly useless this place and its staff are. Doctors are non existent and I’m pretty sure they haven’t even bothered to return to work since covid. The receptionists are so arrogant and don’t care in the slightest about their patients or their job. Prescriptions are constantly wrong or most of the time not even looked at and I have been months at a time without any medication. If you are a patient here please do yourself a favour and change surgeries because this place and the people that work here are an absolute joke. I wouldn’t trust this place with a goldfish let alone my health.

I have recently started using Hillcrest, instead of Forge Rd as it is nearer my home.I have found the staff to be both very helpful and friendly. The NHS is struggling mainly due to the Pandemic and cuts over the last 12 years but on a personal level I am really happy with the help and service I'm receiving.

I have not yet had an appointment in this surgery but I wanted to mention how helpful the reception staff have been every time I have called, they go out of there way to provide as much info as possible. Thank you.

After waiting for reception to stop talking among themselves was given wrong information .Staff training much needed or better still staff who want to work with public and not see it as a paid chat centre for themselves to ignore the patients . Digusting

The worst GP in Wrexham. My child is vomiting, has diarrhea, cough and runny nose, trying to call us to no avail, we went to the place and found out that we need to keep calling. And that everyone is waiting. The child must die on the floor for you to do something? Nay. When we finally got through, we were informed that the doctor would call us back because he was not sure if the control was needed ... I SAY AGAIN THE CHILD HAS VOMBING DARKNESS SHOTS HIS FLEGM AND THEY ARE NOT SURE THE BABY NEED TO SEE !!!!

Only given one star, because I’ve had to. I would have given zero stars. I’m sick to death of them always getting my repeat prescription wrong. Usually order my repeat prescription via email. So two weeks ago I put a repeat in, only to find out they changed their email address. THANKS FOR NOT LETTING ME KNOW. I have now ran out of a lot of medication. As for the staff, there are some nice ones, but afraid ruled out out by the rude and arrogant ones. A repeat was handed in yesterday. I reckon 14 days without medication. WHY OH WHY DID HILLCREST, BORRAS AND FORGE SURGEY MERGE. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER

I would rate this place a zero if I could. Refusing to see my partner for a condition that is causing him to be off sick for prolonged periods of time without pay. Receptionist said that it is not urgent and he won’t be getting an appointment and hung up the phone. Disgusting

Although it can be incredibly difficult and frustrating to get through on the phone I cannot fault the care received once you do speak to a member of staff. Julie was very helpful last week and I had the callback she promised from a doctor who was also very helpful and efficient. I also submitted an online consultation request this week and I received a prompt callback from Dr Edwards who quickly diagnosed and prescribed the necessary. Thank you Hillcrest
