St George's Crescent Surgery

Doctor

😠 After moving and changing my doctors to this place so far Im regretting it. Tried to make an appointment for blood tests, I was given another number and told to go there then woman on reception hung up on me after I said "Thank you" No "Welcome" or "Bye" just rude as hell. Thought receptionists are... People often mention phone, people, surgery, appointment, receptionist, doctors, doctor, told, service, practice,

Tried to make an appointment for blood tests, I was given another number and told to go there then woman on reception hung up on me after I said "Thank you" No "Welcome" or "Bye" just rude as hell. Thought receptionists are supposed to have people skills? Was going to make an appointment with the doctors anyway and now I will wait to late afternoon, do not want to speak to her again. Not impressed at all.

This is the worst surgery I have ever been too. The receptionists are very rude and the doctors are disrespectful they do not listen yo you or seem to care about your problems horrible place.

Disgraceful service. Neither the doctors nor the admin have respect for patients, public or peers. They believe they know the solution to all without considering an individuals need or social context. Guess what? They were wrong! And too ignorant to learn from mistakes & change behaviours, which would redeem them but they have too much pride

This doctors Surgery was good once but now they do not care anymore , when ever i try to get a appointment you have to try to convince the staff that you really need a doctor and even though ive had 4 heart attacks and suffer from peroneal neuropathy i cant get a doctor to ring me let alone see me, ive reported them to the nhs but iam not expecting anything to happen iam trying to find a doctor who cares.

Great surgery serving the people of wrexham. Staff have alot of work dealing with many impatient people yet remain friendly. The Doctors at the practice are very good.

Its 21st century and they require me to pop in and put my request on piece of paper. What a joke

DR PHILLIP ALSTEAD IS RUDE, ARROGANT AND CONFRONTATIONAL. I would absolutely advise having witnesses present for any home visits from him. On my last encounter with him, he was dismissive, condescending and argumentative. He stormed out of his home visit with my 95 yr old mother because I confronted him about his attitude and demeanour. He then maliciously called Social Services. They arrived a few days later and were appalled by his behaviour. His reputation in Wrexham precedes him with many people leaving this practice due to him. I had informed him that I intended reporting him to The General Medical Council in London, but decided against this as he is nearing retirement and it would not prove a satisfactory course of action to expend time and effort with little recompense. Be very careful with your interactions with this man ! READ MY OTHER REVIEW ON THIS SITE FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION. PETER ROBERTS. R.B.T.C. Dip Ed. SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER

Took my 10 week old daughter to her apt, it was an emergency apt as she was very unwell the apt happened to be upstairs. I was told by a receptionist to take my daughter out of her pram and carry her up the stairs when there is a perfectly good working lift there.. why was this? What was that all about? I assumed the lift must be broken as this has never happened before. Baffled me. I walked over to the lift and it was working. I questioned the receptionist she grinned and said yes use it if you like. I’m just confused as to why she would do all of that to me when I could have left my daughter in her pram. So many times Iv had a bad experience with this certain receptionist and others

I explained to the doctor on the phone that I've been experiencing chronic shoulder pain for months now, he did not consider sending me for an x-ray photo, and didn't have any real knowledge of my condition whatsoever. He just prescribed me painkillers and hung up the phone. I tried calling again right after that to which they responded with "The doctor is busy now but we can book you for a call with him in 3 weeks time".

Since Dr Alstead's retirement the surgery has massively gone to the dogs. I felt trust in my medical health was in safe hands with Dr Alstead yet I've had nothing but stress and frustration since he retired. I'm now researching other surgeries with the hope of finding a better service.

Rang at 8.30 this morning for a Dr's consult as my daughter, 9 has all the symptoms of Strep A which I stated on the phone. Rang numerous times in the day to be told they were behind. Still no phonecall at 5.30. Get your priorities right, it's disgusting. And on that note stop telling people to go to A&E when you should be seeing patients in opening hours!

Some of the drs are rather nice and do a good job, however I’m in a situation with my mental health and I’ve been advised to phone if my medication stops working, however for some reason the receptionists were not very kind about the situation. They didn’t care about my issues and she was rather rude on the phone just told me to phone back in the morning when I’d been trying to get through for ages. Ridiculous considering changing surgery

Called to try to book an appointment. Recorded message says that I can book an appointment using the 'My Health Online' app. Tried that but not one single appointment available within the next month to see any doctor! Do you actually use online appointment booking? I was told to ring at 08:00 the following morning, just when everyone else is trying to ring and book appointments! Working people are getting ready for work at 08:00! They should get their act together and make it easier to book appointments.

I am the manager next door to this practice and have to applaud the team for all their efforts. When patients are desperate for medication they have ran out or we visit them to request urgent prescriptions, they go above and beyond to get that prescription to us the same day (within reasonable ordering time). They have a positive attitude and do their upmost to help resolve any issues, without question. Well done team!!

The receptionists here are always so warm and willing to help. Often calling the Drs can be a stressful experience, but their warm manner and kindness makes the whole process a lot less overwhelming.

This place has done bad! Had done a water sample had to wait over a week for the doctor to phone read them i phoned everyday!! They finally got back to me today and said tablets with me in the chemist after 7 gone there and nothing told me to phone 111 or wait until Monday!! Ever since Dr alsted left the doctors in that place are shocking like they don’t care!!

Very friendly staff and not that long of a wait on call. Considering the state of the NHS and the pressure the GP's get. Thoroughly happy with service. Thank you!

Tried to register our 7 month old daughter to this GP as we’ve moved out the area boundary from our previous practice. My girlfriend called up and was asked to bring in an application form. On arrival the receptionist she talked to was very rude and patronising towards her. She explained that we only lived 0.7 miles away from the practice (which is well within the boundaries they have set on their website) she seemed unbothered and more interested in socialising with her colleagues. Very unprofessional.

Terrible service from reception team, failing to deliver service to vulnerable aged patients, rude and unprofessional. Why in the 21st Century are we hand delivering paper scripts to the pharmacy next door when surely it can be done immediately by electronic methods, so when a GP issues a script you are not relying on reception to finish their shift and hand deliver said scripts. Inefficiency at its best. No wonder the NHS is £££££ in debt

Worst surgery ever AVOID! Disrespectful I'm 1st in queue for 30 mins then finally somone pick up and you could here other 2 3 receptionist are laughing etc when people need appointments with gp or advised. Very unprofessional ladies should think maybe about factory work not receptionist if they have no idea how to help or pick up! Waiting for gp to call me back with biopsy results nothing ! If I will not call they will ignore me. unbelievable how they are treat people I wonder if their will treat like that family member! Can't say anything good about that surgery looking for new one!

Receptionists and doctors have mostly been helpful and professional in my experience. Whilst it can be difficult to get through or to even get an appointment at times, I feel the staff generally do their best, especially given how broken the health and social care system is. I'm sure given the choice, the surgery would like to prioritise more people and change certain policies to make them more efficient yet sadly some of those decisions are above and beyond their control.

Phoned on Friday and spoke to a lovely receptionist called Ann, what a credit to the surgery she is, very polite and helpful and asked me to phone back on Monday which I did. I spoke to a different receptionist I think was called Lynn who again was lovely and very helpful and was able to book my mum an appointment for the afternoon. Too many people give the receptionists bad press, I personally have nothing but praise for them.

Indians unusless gp's. They don't talk with you much, they ignore you like you don't needs to be there. Very disappointed, need to be changed as soon as possible.

I went to the pharmacy on Saturday for a prescription. There is only one customer aloud in at a time then out again to wait for your medication. Which is very responsible considering the pandemic. My order wasn’t in stock, but one of the ladies went to another store to collect it and bring it for me, which was so so lovely & really appreciated the help as I was in pain. Thank you for a lovely service!

😠 I haven't been able to get an appointment in over 2 years. If I do ever manage to get through to reception, which is often a 2+ hour wait on the phone, the staff are rude and dismiss you. I have entirely given up on ever seeing a doctor here.
