No sea view like promised in my £140 a night room. Child sized bed in room and small bathroom. Also found a sweet under my bed and the host was a bit dramatic at times.

It's been many years since I last visited the Griffin. The pub of my youth. Now completely renovated to a high standard. The food was excellent and the beer vastly improved! Very pleasant staff made the visit worthwhile despite the sad occasion.

This use to be our preferred choice for a local meal. However we have been put off because of the frosty nature of one of the staff there, the lady in charge? Seems to be a concurrent theme with other reviewers as well. This is a shame as her attitude is detrimental to the business. Perhaps she needs to take a trip to the Drovers Arms for some training. This is a shames as other than that this is a lovely place for a meal. The other staff are great and very welcoming. So I'm not sure what's going on here? 🤔

First time dining here after they reopened and it was excellent. Great new layout, it was cosy but not too crowded. Everyone on our table cleaned their plates. I had the steak and it was cooked perfectly. Will be returning if I'm ever in North Wales again for sure.

Having moved into the area earlier this year,we thought we would have a good walk with our two small dogs to The Griffin Inn.We ordered a pint of cider each, whilst my better half and I decided what to order from the lunchtime menu. They stop serving at 3pm for food so we just ordered our Steak & Blue Cheese Ciabatta with salad, coleslaw & crisps in time.(£12)The staff were very polite and friendly also providing our thirsty dogs with fresh water and a dog biscuit while we sat outside in the sun.The toilets and pub inside are very clean and nicely decorated! The only negative was that dogs are not allowed indoors at The Griffin, which is a shame when the weather is not as warm as today.Plenty of people and their dogs were enjoying their lunch and a drink in the beer garden.Perhaps the owner doesn't need that extra business in the winter months from diners with their well behaved pooches. The food was very enjoyable,so next time we will call in the evening (after 5pm menu).A lovely 45 min walk to The Griffin is really worth it on a nice day like today. We will be visiting again very soon.

Had a great 3 nights here whilst working. Fantastic breakfast - zero grease, high quality ingredients and well cooked. Friendly staff and lovely spacious rooms. Nothing too much trouble. Restaurant orders finish a bit early at about 8 so keep that in your plans.

Absolutely fabulous. Beautifully decorated and set out, with food to match. Really enjoyed our lunch. A local cheese ploughman’s and the locally sourced meat platter topped off with a local pint. Highly recommend.

Very clean and lovely decor. Dogs allowed in the garden but no water supplied for them. Food not served until 5pm so a bit disappointed as we was only informed after purchasing drinks.

We went there Saturday 20th May. The 3 of us had fish and chips (perfect and tartare sauce best i have ever tasted) pea risotto with aspargus (perfect) and i had gammon, again perfect. We were at the Griffin 4 months ago and it was 3/5, now 5/5. Chef either got better or, i suspect, someone new. Also top marks to very young, but lovely staff.

No sea views, tiny double bed in a room not big enough to swing a cat in. Owners petty, small minded, rude and over dramatic. Even found a half chewed sweet under my bed! Disgusting place. Only worth £10 a night and that's if the seventh circle of hell isn't available.

Lovely pub, have spent a lot of time & money renovating it. Much more welcoming than it used to be decor wise. Great open plan. Great use of outdoor space. Food was lovely & very reasonable price. Lovely staff. Had a bad pint & think (manager) came out to apologise. Changed barrel & ale was fine. Very impressed. Will certainly be back, highly recommended.

There is everything to like about the Griffin Inn. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. This room had so much to enjoy: A huge bathtub; a spacious standing shower with glass doors; really appreciated the amenities, including coffee, tea and water. Such small details make a big impression. As beautiful as the setting was, it was the staff that really made it a worthwhile place to stay-especially Sian the owner, who went far and above the normal service that you would expect from a small public house. A shout out to Saffie, Julie, Rosie, and Alison all very friendly staff. Next time we are in the area, we will absolutely stay at The Griffin Inn and I recommend it to anyone visiting Ruthin. 🌸

Ok pub.winner of four in a bed.Does not allow dogs inside so not much good on cold days if you have a dog. Only 3 stars food hygiene rating but we had crispy beef on salad and it was delicious

Dined here for lunch today , I had crispy beef salad with a chilli sauce and my husband had beef, onion and blue cheese ciabatta served with salad and crips. Both dishes were excellent. The salad was so fresh and the beef very tender. The lady waiting-on was very friendly & efficient. Great place for a relaxing lunch, will definitely be returning soon!

Went to Griffin for lunch for first time. Small selection but really nice food. Had beef sandwich with blue cheese and salad Delicious!! It was a real thick piece of beef, I'd expected a thin slice. Can't wait to go again

Called for late lunch after getting desperate for something to eat & they were very accommodating. Food & drinks very reasonably priced compared to other places we tried during our stay in the area. Most places seemed to have increased their prices now they are able to open once again & the customers end up paying but not at the Griffin.

Lovely family meal. Chicken risotto and burger were tasty. Kids enjoyed their burger and macaroni cheese. Puddings were such a treat. Outside space for kids to run around. Great to support this local pub.

Absolutely beautiful decor, feels so welcoming stepping inside for the first time. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the food was absolutely amazing, me and my partner were fully satisfied when we left and will 100% be returning. The outside area is definitely one of my favourite areas it's very inviting and relaxing, you can tell a lot of passion and love has been given into the building and outside areas to make sure everyone has an amazing experience. Loved it and would highly recommend stopping by.
