(Visited Nov 2021) My friend and I came for two escapes back-to-back: Bedlam and Laboratory. Both had excellent themes and associated puzzles. There was an exciting focus on teamwork, which really added to the experience. I was sometimes distracted by how much fun I was having! Our host was very friendly and conscious of how much help we did (or didn’t!) want. We broke out both times and are looking forward to completing the other two rooms.

Fantastic escape rooms, highly detailed, great fun to play and hosted very enthusiastically by the owners! Out of hundreds that we've played these are amongst our favourite escape rooms in the UK. We've played most of them and are looking forward to trying out the new ones that are being created, can't wait to come back! Would highly recommend to anyone from those trying out an escape room for the first time to more experienced players.

The best escape room I've been to. Great atmosphere, lovely owners. We did the U Boat room, it was so different from other rooms we've done - we loved it. Was very nervous going in as just 2 people but we managed to solve plenty of puzzles and we escaped 😊 I would recommend this for anyone anxious about doing an escape room because there's no jump scares, no hidden tunnels to squeeze through and, because of the nature of the room, you don't need to worry about time too much. Absolutely loved it and we will visit again.

Having heard amazing things about Compendium, myself and 6 friends decided to play UI-55 last week. Some of us are experienced players and other not so much and we found that there were puzzles to suit all levels of experience. We worked solidly right up to the last second (which is no small feat for a group of 7!) which we really enjoyed! The game space is huge and well decorated and the game itself is super unique and a refreshing change of pace to traditional games. Our game master was welcoming, enthusiastic and provided well paced clues when needed. We will definitely be back!

I completed the Bedlam room with some friends for a Birthday celebration - we escaped with 30 seconds left! Fantastic escape room and our host was a really friendly staff member. Excellent at giving clues when needed and very polite. I would love to return and try out some other rooms. I definitely recommend this place!

We went today and had an awesome time… such good fun and so exciting, we completed the Wrong Turn Room with 14 seconds to spare. We are booking again for in 2 weeks. The staff are so friendly too… we will do them all eventually 🥰

Been to an escape room before but this was by far the best. From the customer service to the atmosphere. The gentleman was really helpful and kind! Will definitely be coming back and recommend to everyone to book in.

Absolutely loved it the staff was amazing at explaining everything. The tops and the room was so realistic and really told its story. Recommend taking this escape room it’s an amazing place to go to with anyone!

A truly top tier escape room experience, deserving of the current 5.0 star rating. A great welcome and debrief, we did the UI-55 and Lab rooms. The former is truly unique, both in terms of scale and the number of mini games, the latter more conventional, though brilliantly executed. The design and difficulty are faultless, and clues delivered at just the right time without being over the top. We shall certainly return to tackle other rooms.

Great rooms. We come up to Bury from London to do these rooms. Family run and put so much thought into their rooms and puzzles. If you think escape rooms aren't for you, it's because you haven't been to Compendium!

Fantastic escape rooms run by the designers themselves. We did The Laboratory and Bedlam. Great creativity and puzzle design. We’ve done 120+ rooms and these are some of the best in the UK. Gutted that we didn’t have enough time to do their renowned UI-55 room, but we’ll definitely be back for more!

So much fun, really great puzzles and concept. Will deffo be back for the other rooms! Loved it.

What an absolute blast my family had here! We tried their new room, Zombieland - Unit Z, with my husband and son (age 11), and it was actually our first escape room ever! The gentleman who runs Compendium has a passion for escape rooms, which clearly shows in everything we saw. Attention to detail was everywhere you looked, with a wide range of puzzles to solve. Some were quite tricky, but after a few well timed clues, we managed to escape! We honestly can not wait to go back to Bury and try another of their rooms, as Unit Z was simply amazing. Keep doing what you do guys, and thank you for a truely inredible experience :)

One of the best escape room companies I've been to. I've done three of their rooms and they are very inventive and different to most places. You can't go fail to have a good time here, even if you don't usually like escape rooms.

Absolutely bloody brilliant! I read all the reviews here, and someone said the UI-55 room feels like a film set - they are right! The quality of this escape room is far and above any other that we have played elsewhere. The owner is really nice and welcoming too. We will definitely be back!

Went to Compendium to do the Laboratory escape room. It was first time any of us had done an escape room and the owner was very good at explaining about how to proceed going forward. The escape room was challenging and very fun. Afterwards we were keen to discuss it amongst ourselves and the owner also joined in on the discussion while taking a photo. Definitely a 5* experience.
