It’s main church of Ukraine and one of the most important and oldest temples of Orthodoxy.

Beautiful bell tower with very nice observation platforms on every level of the tower. If you decide to climb up, be aware of many steps and really strong wind. The bell tower is also not as old as the cathedral itself, but still a very impressive attraction of Kyiv.

Be sure to double check your tickets when you get them, we paid to climb the bell tower, and for access to the church, but when we tried to climb the tower, we were told our tickets weren’t for this. It’s still beautiful to look at, and the church was a nice experience on its own.

Definitely recommend to visit, it is a part of UNESCO heritage site Sophia Cathedral, access to the bell tower only - is 60 UAH~2 EUR, should you wish to access the area of the area of the cathedral you have to pay more: 100 UAH for access only and 200 UAH to visit all the buildings located inside. You’ll get some breathtaking views of the city and won’t regret it.

Good view on the top. Need ticket to get in. Student can show his /her student card to buy a student ticket which is cheaper a lot than the adult ticket!

I haven't been inside it but it's a real landmark. You can see this tower from the maidan. And you can see it if you look out of your window in the Ukraine hotel. Notice the detail (figures inside) in the top part of the bell tower!

It's an outstanding place. If you want to get the maximum out of it you should take a full ticket and spend there several hours. First, take the ticket and go to the Bell tower, mind your head climbing up, the path is very narrow and the ceiling sometimes is low, don't get hit accidentally. After that, the view is impressive but the wind is blowing hard there and I managed to lose my ticket. It was blown out of my hands 🙈 I didn't have the chance to continue my exploration of that site today but I would like to come back soon.
