Neat coffee shop with a stage and plenty of seating. Looks like they have musical performances occasionally, which would be cool to see. My wife and I enjoyed our visit and especially the coffee. The Chai Tea Latte was delicious!

Love their coffee! We have been talking the dogs every Monday for military Monday s (10% discount) for a few weeks now. Staff is nice, coffee taste great, and we get to sit at the outdoor seating area with the pups. Inside has a nice lounge area with books. Good spot to hold meetings and little get togethers.

A nice coffee shop with a lot of space for seating and working. They have events that go on like karaoke and even a reading room in the back. The service was great and I had a decent chai. If I'm ever back out in Manassas I'd stop back in for sure.

Jirani in Swahili means neighbor, and I think this coffeehouse epitomizes the community feel that the name harkens to. The coffeehouse is very cute, and an amazing place to come and study with ample seating, booth seating in the back, and a reading room. There is also a stage for events, and we came at a time when they had their monthly open mic story sharing event where people from the community came in and just told stories about their lives. It was pretty awesome, and you could feel the appreciative and tight knit social fabric energy.

I was looking for a cozy coffee shop to get work done while on a trip to Manassas and I found it here at Jirani Coffeehouse! The baristas are upbeat and friendly, and take the time to explain what’s inside some of their specialty drinks (I recommend the Founders Latte!). The place is spacious, inviting, and has that old town Manassas feel with the exposed brick, French doors, and string light bulbs on the ceiling. There’s plenty of seating options whether you want something a little bit more private to take your work calls (booths in the back) or sit by the fireplace and read a book from their community library. I’ll definitely be coming back here on my future visits!

This place is much better than Starbucks. I definitely recommend the drink "The Train Freeze." It has a very nice atmosphere. There are a couple rooms that you can just sit down in a private area and study. All the employees are awesome. If you go on a Thursday night they have live music and an art gallery. I will be returning.

Jirani was a great discovery! They have creative drinks and the atmosphere is the best. It’s one of the best study spots in VA! They have a lot of seating and the coffee is amazing!

Love the Breakfast Pizza🍕 Great coffee ☕️ Delicious desserts 🍰 Plenty of seating 🛋 Sadly They don't allow you to call ahead for pick-up tho. Food cooked to order, so be prepared to stay awhile. Chill Vibes 😎

Pretty horrible customer service. I waited at the register to order, along with two other women, and the girl behind the counter just stared at us and continued making drinks. If you’re backed up, at least acknowledge the people waiting for you. When another employee came out from the back, he just started restocking cups - of which there were already enough - rather than take orders or even greet the people waiting. Ended up leaving and going down the street to another coffee shop.

Easily one of the top 5 coffee shops to work in NoVA area. Great environment, right by the train station. Could step it up on some of their drinks, but 5 stars for the environment!

great coffee shop in old town with good coffee options with a few grab and go food options. the location ambiance is great to enjoy your drink, food, or just to relax. most of the staff members were polite and friendly but the tall lady who took my order wasn't too welcoming. The iced latte with oat milk was great.

I wanted to be excited. I love local shops like this. Good, but service is lacking immensely. Now, the bad: 20 minutes for avocado toast and a London fog? Then they forget the drink. Waited another 5 minutes for the poor girl to refund it. Sorry guys. I'm not coming back.

I really hoped that this could be my Northern Virginia coffee destination. I like the environment; plentiful seating with different chairs and sofas, an electric fireplace, and a carpeted reading nook with books to borrow. There's also a stage in the corner for live performances. I was hopeful that this might be my new coffee spot. I asked about pour-over options, and was told a list of about 8-10 names of different countries with a slight nod over his shoulder directed at some coffee bags by the shelf. There was no further descriptors or follow-up as to what I may be looking for. I chose a country, hoping for flavor that was nurtured by the high altitudes there. I also ordered the bacon cheddar grilled cheese, all together for about $12. After a few minutes, my coffee was ready. Surprisingly it was in a larger cup, 16-20 oz? A quick sniff produced nothing, no discernible notes of anything. It was diluted, flat, and formless. It tasted of a lighter roast gas station coffee that was reheated in a microwave. I was so surprised I chuckled to myself. Then my sandwich came out. My optimism was challenged, seeing a pale, almost soggy looking sandwich. Cheese was dripping from the sides, which isn't a bad thing for a grilled cheese, but it definitely wasn't cheddar, as advertised. Cheap, buttery, oily Gouda was overwhelming, cut with something very sickly sweet. Perhaps something like a BBQ jam? The bacon looked like the pre-cooked bacon available at Costco, thin, pink, lacking any smoke or really cured flavor. The bread was probably grilled on a flat top, but was pulled far too early and didn't toast at all. Between the coffee and sandwich, not sure what was more disappointing. I generally only post negative reviews when an establishment has really earned it, and I'm definitely not being overly critical. I actually like the atmosphere, and I imagine for most people just looking for a drip house coffee, this would be a solid option. I'm going to go one more time, just to be thorough, and hopefully my experience was an outlier.

Went there to try the coffee as couple of people said it's good one. Went there at evening I orders mango smoothie for my son, espresso double shot and regular coffee The coffee - espresso ! Was externally not the best choice ! I couldn't even drink it! Cold and not good at all! The regular coffee was also the same It was wasting of money and time The toilet already super dirty ! The tables were sticky and not clean. Definitely not going back again.

I was not impressed with the atmosphere or the espressos at this shop. The espresso was extremely sour and not very hot. The barista did not look very happy to be there. It did not feel like a true local coffee shop. The vibe did not feel warm or welcoming. I will not be going back here.

  • 3/5 Annette L. 3 months ago on Google • 53 reviews New
The coffee and cake were pleasant, but the sour barista was not. As a long-ago former server, I've no idea what motivates someone who works in a coffee shop to throw a presumptuous attitude at perfectly civil customers, except that she thinks she's too important for a "menial" job. It's only menial when you make it so by being rude and demeaning to customers. We three polite and friendly people won't go out of our way to return (fix your management!)

A lovely place just in the heart of Manassas, it has delicious and excellent coffee, and very good desserts, the staff is very friendly, we went 2 times, one to chat and the second one to work, and was very convenient!

Spent some time here back in May while I was working remote. The coffee is fantastic, of course, but the food for breakfast and lunch are excellent too! Staff are friendly and talkative (in a good way!) Location has a nice vibe, very easy to relax and study, work, or just hangout. Also, keep an eye on their FB for events :)

I am a truthful man with an experienced pallet. I have been coming here for quite some time sampling various menu items. First of the coffee. The beans they use lack any unique flavor that other facilities offer, nevertheless there are many options for mixed coffee beverages that most will enjoy. The food items are all simple and well made. Desserts are usually spectacular and unique. This place excels due to it's ambiance and staff.

Cozy coffeehouse, So convenient if you are traveling from Manassas train station, it is just cross the street from the station. By the way it is Jirani not Sirani.

  • 5/5 Agha D. 1 year ago on Google
Manassas community is celebrating by convening food festival, handicrafts bazaar and farmer’s’ market therefore many roads were either blocked for pedestrians or rerouted. My first thought was if Jirani coffee house would be open or not. After overcoming brief traffic challenges, we we’re happy to see the place was lively and open for customers. We ordered avocado toast, chicken waffles and coffee. Everything was as expected however I liked avocado toast. There is small reading corner with some books in the coffee house as well. Enjoy your next visit to this awesome place.

Great place to meet up and have coffee or tea. Decent selection of drinks and light fare. Large open space with plenty of room. The only negative for ambience is the occasional train rumblng through next to the shop.

Solid coffee shop to get work done. The place had a great atmosphere, pleasant and delightful service. I had the breakfast sandwiches, i got it on a croissant bun, it wasn't the croissant texture I expected. It was still a fine sandwich. I recommend this spot!

Maybe it was the time of day...I really wanted to love this place as it had such charm and appeal. Visit started off just fine but my cappucino had sort of a burnt taste to it. When we went there, there were people setting up a stage for what I thought was some music performance...no big deal. We were meeting some friends there over coffee. While deep in conversation, someone from the performance asked us to leave the dining area because "we were too loud" and since they were recording, our conversation would be recorded along with whatever they were doing. We didn't like this obviously; if Jirani's had rented out the space for a production, they should have told us when we ordered to move into their back room. It was quite embarrassing to be called out like this by whoever was recording. Anyway, bottom line; coffee was so-so, atmosphere was good till it wasn't, employees seemed oblivious

Wow! Good coffee and great atmosphere. The mini library is a hit! I think the baristas could have been been a little more... "alive" but all in all it was very nice.

Highly Recommend Jirani Coffeehouse💜! I have been to many coffeehouses and this one is truly unique it was such a fantastic experience. Many will say it's just a coffeehouse but Jirani isn't just a coffeehouse it's a place of love where you can go and enjoy not just great coffee, pastries, and food but excellent management that makes you feel welcome. Thank YOU FOR YOUR SERVICES 🙏 **You will not disappointed** 😁

Jirani coffeehouse is located in historic old Manassas directly opposite the train station. It offers a large space with plenty of room to work or just take a break from work. The baristas are friendly and helpful - they also pay attention! When I asked for a chai latte with almond milk the barista actually took the time to ask if this was allergies related or just preference. When I mentioned I was lactose intolerant she immediately let me know that their chai powder contained milk products and was able to help me find a similar drink without any allergens. First class service! I ended up with a yummy snickerdoodle latte instead for that vanilla and spice flavor I was looking for. It’s worth noting that they also offer delicious slices of cake and other pastries as well as breakfast and lunch dishes like chicken and waffles and various sandwiches.

Excellent coffee house I stopped in halfway through my bike ride. This was during some type of fest. I was impressed by their coffee, very good. They're accompanying pastries were superb as well. The staff looked bogged down and unrushed by a moderate line of people, but still maintained a friendly demeanor. The atmosphere was very welcoming. Nice place to spend a full evening in.

Guy at the register didn’t smile nor gesture any sentiment of good customer service. He was very short with me and I noticed with the customer in front of us also. There are no prices for the chocolate boxed drinks for kids(the small box size). He stated it was 3$. And huffed when I asked him what the cost of the water was. We were a large group and spent a pretty penny in your place of business. Lady preparing coffee and drinks also didn’t smile or thank us. As for quality of drinks- mediocre.

I really try to support small coffee shops and not Starbucks but there is a point where I have to draw a line in the sand. To charge me almost $5 for a quarter empty cup of coffee and to have the cashier sigh when I needed a minute to look at the menu, made me wish I had gone to Starbucks instead. The food wasn’t much better, the scone was stale.

The atmosphere here is a whole vibe! It's an incredibly cute spot located on Main Street, serving great coffee, tasty treats, good music, and lots of smiles!! It's positioned right in front of the train station and next to the Harris Pavilion, making it the perfect spot for a first date or to catch up with friends. The owners are sweet as well, and I fully support this black-owned business!

Met here for a second date. We sat in some of the comfy soft chairs. We had a degree of privacy despite sitting in the open. We stayed for hours and never felt like we were in the way. Great coffee. Great service. And love the environment.

I've been to this coffeehouse twice. The first time I ordered a croissant sandwich and the cheese they used was a very cheap terrible tasting cheese. It made the sandwich taste disgusting. Also the contents of the sandwich tasted like it was cooked on something that hadn't been cleaned in a while..like it had been cooked with reused oils. That turned me off from ordering any food from here. The second time I went and simply ordered an iced coffee that was pretty good. And service was good that time. The young lady at the front was very nice.

The word that kept coming to mind at Jirani was easy. There's a lot of coffee shops in this world and a lot of them are very good, but not many are easy. Jirani's is different. First off, it's easy to find and get to. Tucked just off the side of railroad tracks it's painless to find. Moreover, there's plenty of street lot parking around, so finding a place isn't difficult. Second, ordering is easy. The staff here is great. They're kind, helpful, conversational, polite and really help make the shop feel warm and homely. Third, the shop itself is easy. By easy here, I mean that there is plenty of seating. It's way bigger than the pictures make it out to be with enough tables, couches, high-tops and chairs to sit well over 20 groups. Moreover, there are plenty of outlets, quiet music and free wifi, so sitting down a doing a little work is easy. Finally, the coffee is easy......to drink a lot of. It's quite good. I ordered a pour over with Nicaraguan beans. It set me back about $4 and it was well worth every penny. Delicious. All in all, very pleased and will be coming back when I'm in the area again.

VERY unsanitary!! DO NOT EAT here!!! Employees and customers are NOT PROVIDED SOAP for SEVERAL HOURS!!! Health department VIOLATIONS!!! I arrived at the store, placed my order and went to the restroom while my drink was prepared and my scone was warmed. There was no soap in the ladies restroom so I reported this to the woman who took my order. After my book club meeting was over, I returned to the restroom before my trip home and there was still NO SOAP! This was 2.5 HOURS after I had arrived!!! The woman who I had told earlier was waiting outside the restroom when I came out and said she was going to replace it then. However, as I went to the counter and asked for the manager, she came back from the restroom and told another employee she had no idea how to replace the soap. I was also told employees had no idea when the manager would be in. This place was highly recommended by two of my friends but this will be the LAST TIME I ever visit this restaurant.

Jirani Coffeehouse is an excellent place to share some coffee or snacks with friends or family. The vibes and atmosphere of this coffee house are outstanding, it has a happy feel and it is generally accommodating for quiet conversation or a happily noisy party. The coffee selection is great and there are also many choices of yummy snacks and desserts. The coffee house is also centrally located in old Town manassas, which makes this place good for a snack before or after a good time shopping! No wonder this is the highest rated coffee house in old town.

Really cute place! Nestled behind three Fosters Grill, and just across the tracks from the train station, it's not the easiest place to find from the street. But it's worth the look! The baristas are very friendly, the place has a very cute, comfortable vibe, and the food is great! I had a blueberry muffin and a hot cocoa, and they were just about perfect. The hot cocoa was not "burning your fingers" hot, so I was able to enjoy it without waiting for an hour for it to cool. And it was delicious! Highly recommended!

Loved the experience at Jirani. Even to new visitors, Jirani may be filled with familiarities and memories, such are the aromas produced by the adept and approachable staff at the coffee grinders. Lucie’s coffee especially is a straightforward delight – no unnecessary frills, just good, quality brews. Her pour-over is a thoughtful process, resulting in a clean and vibrant cup. At Jirani, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, where emphasis is placed not only on handing out great coffee but also on serving up daily doses of genuine connections, making you feel truly seen and valued. A visit here is less about your quick coffee to go and more about enjoying a honest brew with a good read.
