I can not believe what I stumbled upon! Amazing collection of peculiar cat items and imagery. I couldn't help myself but to leave with a landfull of the souvenirs. The magnet and notebook art are designed by the owner and they are truly beautiful and fairly priced. Worth visiting in Budapest!

The Cats Museum in Budapest, located at Magyar u. 5, is a place that every cat lover, like me, should visit. I had the pleasure of exploring this museum during my recent trip and I was extremely satisfied with the experience. Upon entering, I was greeted by the owner, an incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable person, who made my visit even more enjoyable. He provided me with useful and interesting informations about many of the exhibited objects, enriching my knowledge about cats and the museum's history. The wide selection of high-quality items in the museum is truly incredible. Paintings, medals, posters, photographs, stamps, and vintage objects, all dedicated to cats, are carefully and precisely displayed. Each piece seems to tell a unique story, conveying the elegance and grace of these fascinating animals. I cannot fail to mention the extensive range of excellent-priced gadgets and souvenirs available in the museum. I had the opportunity to purchase some unique and interesting items that reflect my love for cats, without breaking the bank. The atmosphere of the museum is welcoming and captivating, making it truly worth a visit. The Cats Museum in Budapest is a place that I highly recommend to cat enthusiasts.

A very vast collection of vintage pictures of cats, paintings, and post cards! The owner is really friendly and helpful. There’re nice cat souvenirs like table cloths and magnets. It accepts only cards. The place is free entry. I would’ve appreciated some descriptions on some of the displays in English though. P.s don’t confuse it with the other cat museum which is called (Cat museum Budapest) and is interactive as it has actual cats. (Both places are lovely and unique and as a cat lover I recommend you check out both)

A truly amazing place with a great collection of graphics and images depicting the greatest animals of all - cats. I had lots of fun with my friends, thus I strongly encourage all animal lovers to visit this small, yet lovely place. If I have not convinced you yet, the museum is completely free of charge!

Nice, quirky museum full of collected imagery with and about cats. Everything from paintings, postcards, stamps, old newspaper articles and more. Close to the commercial center, with a caffe and park nearby. Discovered by accident. Free entrance but strongly recommend you buy some of the fun cat-themed merchandise.

Absolutely fantastic place and a must visit for tourists, even those, who are not cat people. The owner collected postcards, articles, paintings of cats, and some date back to 1700s! The collection was put together with so much love, you can just feel it. The owner asked me about where I'm from and then showed items collected from my countries of origin. It was also fascinating to see the cultural/historical context of the items across time and countries. A truly unique attraction that you won't find anywhere else❤️❤️❤️

We stayed at Hotel Collect, 1 block away and walked past this place. I thought it would be a small souvenir shop but was pleasantly surprised to discover 2 floors of amazing cat paintings, articles, post cards and photos. It was so entertaining! The admission is free and it was empty when we went. The lady is so sweet as well. I ended up buying a Gondola cat print and Dracula cat magnet and notebook. It’s super cute and worth a visit! The prices for the gifts are very affordable too.

An absolutely unmatched collection of printed cat memorabilia dating back well over 125 years, with advertisements, posters, postcards, and other amazing artwork. Two full floors could take one hours to fully soak in. Plus … when I was there, it was FREE! I bought cat memorabilia such as magnets there at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended! This collection took decades to collect and despite already being massive is still being added to.

A huge collection of paintings, pictures, postcards, books, newspapers and little items depicting cats. If you grin whenever you see one of these furry animals then you won't be disappointed. I saw that a ticked was 800 HUF on one day and free entry on another. The owner was friendly and asked kindly for a review, obviously wanting his museum to be popular. He did say that more items will be soon added.
