August 2017. I turned up unannounced having been on my stag do in the city for the last three days (call it BJJ withdrawal symptoms). I only went to check out the place, take some pics etc. I have never experienced such an open, friendly, welcoming group of people. From the professor all the way down. This place is the embodiment of what I had read was the BJJ community and lifestyle. I was welcomed by Oberon Toth (the club physio) and allowed to borrow a Gi and participate in Prof. Max Carvalho's class. I couldn't recommend this place enough and will be going again next summer. Ooss 🤙

Professor Max was kind enough to host me and a colleague while in Budapest for a work trip. Not only was the instructor very open and knowledgeable - but all of my training partners were friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere, great Jiu Jitsu!

Trained here once while traveling. Really positive experience. Everyone was friendly. The professor is great and had some really good rolls. Would come again if I am in the area!

I trained here for 3 months whilst staying in Budapest. Great value for money with a lot of classes in both gi and no-gi. I felt very welcome. Max is a very knowledgable and good teacher. The location was really convenient and in the central part of town. Nice open space and new mats. I’m a relatively new white belt, and felt welcome to all classes. Plenty of other white belts to train with as well as friendly upper level belts. Would definitely recommend to a newbie as well. Would love to come back here when I’m next in Budapest.

Best place to study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ... In Hungary for sure, but in my opinion even in Europe. Top level instructors, great attitude and a lot of knowledge ... People are kind and helpful ... Teaching in English so guests are very welcome here ... Max Carvalho is one of a kind personality ... 100% recommended

I highly recommend this place! I was traveling and looking for a place to roll while in Budapest. I contacted the ZR Team - they welcomed me right away. Rolling with these guys was a pleasure. If I ever have a chance to live in Budapest, I would join their club!

In the 1 week I stayed in Budapest, I was able to squeeze out some time for 1 grp class and 2 privates. In the group class, the environment was very welcoming. Especially the higher belts - they were more focused on techniques, then to crush their weight on smaller people/ lower belts. Privates are 100% worth it for people who wants to bring their game to a higher level. Prof Carvalho was able to explain concepts and techniques in English proficiently. He was very quick to pick up mistakes and loopholes in my game and gave very constructive feedback to help me improve. Will definitely return to this gym and recommend training here.

I wanted to try jiu-jitsu while traveling, so I started in Hungary. Above all, I was impressed by how systematic the explanations and classes were. The step-by-step was very good, and the instructors were very friendly. Sparring with lower belt friends is common all over the world :) I participated twice in total and it was a great experience to watch the promotion ceremony. You must bring your gi, but be sure to participate. I bought a uniform with the corresponding stamp. It will be a souvenir. Since I took a break for two months, I couldn't participate on the last day for fear of overtraining, but it was a good experience. It was super nice to training here. The best bjj gym in hungary. oss

I had an incredible experience visiting ZR Team Hungary during my weekend in Budapest. From the moment I stepped in, Professor Max and the students welcomed me with open arms, making me feel like part of their family right from my first class. The atmosphere is vibrant, full of positive energy, and the spirit among the students is truly amazing. It's a fantastic place for anyone looking to train BJJ, regardless of being a local or just passing through. Highly recommended for its welcoming environment and high-quality instruction. A must-visit for BJJ enthusiasts!

I’ve been here for little while and besides the authentic headcoach and his robust expertise and really never ending repertoire of techniques, everybody is humble and kind! Truly THE place to be at when it comes to martial arts. I’d rate this even higher, if I could.
