Beware, this hostel is unsafe, very loud and filthy. I book a multi-night reservation and had to escape after the first night. I have stayed in dozens of hostels across Europe, and even Africa, but Multipass Hostel is the definitive WORST.

Fantastic place to stay. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. Quiet so that you can actually sleep but not too far from the action if you want to go out.

Multipass hostel is located close to the Budapest Nyugati Station and is within 5-10 minutes walking distance to M1 and M3 metro lines. It is also very near the tram lines. We booked a private room, and it was a steal deal. The hostel is located in an old building which could use some maintenance. Moreover, due to absence of a lift, the luggage needs to be carried via stairs which can be a pain. The bathrooms are quite small. The reception is located at such a place that you need to cross it for going anywhere inside the hostel (bathroom, kitchen, etc.), which feels a little awkward at times, especially after a bath. There is no breakfast available, although there is a kitchen in which one can cook. However, there were always used utensils in the sink, which discouraged one from using it. The private room could do well with at least a mirror.

Stayed here for 5 nights in February with 4 other friends. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they supplied us with maps and gave us a lot of advice about places to visit and where to get good deals on food/drinks. The atmosphere was incredible and they even sorted out our laundry for us! The building is very secure, lockers can be used for a small deposit, everything was clean and tidy and if I'm ever back in Budapest I'll be staying here again. Thoroughly recommended!

The location is very convenient. Although hdden in an old building with a comfortable inner yard, the hostel itself is in rather good condition. Had a peaceful stay here.

Nice hostel, but depends on which staff is in charge. The guests' space, kitchen can be occupied (especially weekends) and when you wanna start cooking after a while with hesitation and patience, unwashed dirty dishes, pans and pots are everywhere and nothing but sigh comes out. Although my experience may rarely happen, I was disappointed with the totally unexpected situation because almost all the staffs are very responsible, neat and super helpful. Also be careful of being woken up by the unbelievably big stereo-sound of a film and a laughter by a couple (actually the staffs) on chilling SUNDAY NOON. They don't care about those who pay and wanna use the facility as A GUEST (please ask them how much I respected the atmosphere and tried following the rule as much as I had done at a number of hostels in Europe and Asia. They say "It is not a hotel but a hostel!" Yeah, I know... or "You should have told us about the noise at first."), rather doing whatever they want (later I knew that only one staff was supposed to be at work), making an awkward atmosphere (you must pass in front of the reception to reach the kitchen and dining space), pointing out in a pretty offensive way as if I were a creep always staying at the hostel without going out (personal reason below, however, still do I deserve this remark? Was my behaviour unacceptable to them at all?)... I didn't feel I was staying at a hostel (workplace), but at a young couple's room (too private). The dissapointment is actually very big, since as a to-be-student in Budapest (4th visit), I have no place to live in except for this until-weekend-amazing hostel (that's why I tried to keep harmony, and liked every single point of Multipass Hostel). In addition, sometimes the air is awful because of the smoke coming in from outdoors. I would NEVER dare to come back here on WEEKENDS! NOTICE: Other staffs are SUPER HELPFUL, FRIENDLY and respect guests... ich meine alles in Ordnung wie übliche Herberge, außer Wochenenden... Traurig..

Nice friendly staff and people staying here seemed decent. All the amenities youd expect from a hostel. Minus one star for lack of lifts but its old communist era building so it cant be helped.

The best hostel in Budapest for sure! Hostel crew is super kind and helpful and the accommodation itself is great. Highly recommended!

Building was nice and staff friendly. We stayed in the separate apartment. This is by far the dirtiest place we've ever stayed. The bathroom was filthy and the kitchen needed a deep clean. The sink in the bathroom was blocked and brown water ran from tap... The shower was so gross I couldn't even use it. So glad it was 1 night only... Any more and we'd have left the next day anyway. There was dust everywhere. On a plus, the bed and bedding was clean. There's many beautiful places to stay in Budapest for budget travellers and I'm sorry to say, this isn't one of them.
