If you go to budapest you definately have to book your stay at AVAIL! Sandor is the best host imaginable. First of all, the contact was exceptional. When we arrived, Sandor sat down with us and showed all the best places to go and recommended things on every level (tourist atttactions, restaurants, going out, etc). The mail contact before we arrived was also really good! Sandor helped us with some problems we had during our journey. The room we were staying in (double bed, shared bathroom) was really nice and also clean. The bathroom is also really nice and easy to share. The location couldn't be better than this. You are right in the center of everything. It's located in the same street as szimpla kert (a ruin bar you should check out) and the best bar in town (called instant) is right around the corner. Although you are in a 'going out' street you wouldn't hear any noise. Sandor told us he installed like a 5-layed window, so you won't hear anything! So if you're not into going out, you should still go here. Lots of tourist attractions are really close by, or are very easy to reach with public transport (you can get a 72h pass for example). So overall, best hostel imaginable. Go here!

Maybe one of our best stay. The hostel is nice and comfy. Overall very clean and in a good location. Sandor the host is absolutely amazing. He was providing good communication beforehand. Once we arrived he took the time to explain to us everything we needed to know for our stay. He checked on us regularly during our stay. Sandor is really making the place so special. I would definitely come again.

What makes this the best place is the Host. He takes care of you like your family. Emailing from the moment you book sending recommendations if you like to plan ahead waiting outside to make sure you are at the right door. He even gives you a brief summary of all the things you need to do before you leave and don’t forget a map highlighting everything and the best tips on wat to do and don’t. And you are in the middle of it all everything is walking distance or you can choose to take te bus tram or metro (Sandor will explain that😅)

Truly the best place I've stayed in terms of comfort and affordability. Had the most peaceful stay in Budapest, and Sandor was a very wonderful host! When I came down with a cough, he showed me how to make a hot drink with medicine and offered to drive me to a hospital if I ever needed it. Best location, best host, and the place to be if you want a nice place to stay in Budapest.

Best hostel with an even better host - Sándor is a great personality and he really cares about the experience of his guests. I felt really welcome and enjoyed every minute of my stay. Excellent location in a historic building and vibrant neighborhood, clean rooms and facilities.

I stayed for 5 nights on a solo trip and am so glad I chose here. Sándor, the host, is incredibly knowledgeable about anything you would want to do in Budapest, and always available to answer questions. There are many wonderful restaurants and bars within walking distance, and it is located near several different transit routes. Stay here!

Avail is a gem in Budapest. This is not your regular commercial hostel that you come across these days. Sandor is an AMAZING host who really cares about your comfort. It truly felt like we were staying with family. Everything was clean, cozy, and perfect! I can’t recommend this hostel enough.

Sándor was an incredibly welcoming and kind host. He sent us instructions for how to get to the hostel from the train station, gave us a map and a rundown of the city, must-see sights, restaurants, and bars. Our room was clean and well-equipped. Sándor even went above and beyond by putting a Mexico flag in our room (we’re from Mexico). He also checked in with us throughout our stay and was very easily accessible. The hostel is located in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, so you have major sights and all the most popular ruin bars within 10 minutes from you. Will definitely be staying here again when I return to Budapest!

Friendliest Hostel Ever! Review of Avenue Hostel Pending review Sándor (who runs the hostel) is so unbelievably friendly and welcoming. During the introduction he sits down with you and discusses all of the best places to visit in Budapest using a map. This was really helpful for me and my friends in getting the best out of the city during the short time we had there. He is someone who truly cares about Budapest and wants visitors to enjoy it as much as he does. Also the showers are very luxury, with amazing water pressure! Would 10/10 recommend!

Avail Hostel was by far one of my best hostel experiences yet. Sandor gave us so many suggestions for food and places to see; was so caring, welcoming, and accommodating; and quickly responded to all of our messages throughout the trip. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and cozy, and the central location is close to so many great places to eat. Staying at Sandor's hostel felt like staying at a friend's place. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the most amazing time possible. It's so wonderful to know that even though we are on the other side of the world, we always have a friend in Budapest. The next time we are there, we will be sure to stay at Avail again!

Staying at Avail Hostel was the best hospitality experience of mine and my 3 friends travels. As 4 young blokes in Budapest for the first time, Sandor sat us down for over an hour and showed us all we needed to see and consistently visited across our stay to check everything was all good. Cheap nice accomodation and we received a free upgrade to an apartment compared to private room. Only one place I’d stay when I come back, the host makes it an amazing experience and the location is also top notch.

I had a fantastic stay at Avail. Both the host and the accommodation were outstanding. Sándor, the owner, was warm and hospitable. He was in contact with us as far before our trip date, and helped us navigate public transportation to the hostel. He was accommodating of our late arrival, and stayed up to give us a mini orientation to the city. Sándor was always available to answer any questions we had about the city and made sure we enjoyed Budapest’s offerings to the fullest. He has recommendations for everything, from restaurants and bars to spas and other cultural offerings! The hostel itself was clean and comfortable. My room was spacious and nicely lit, and the bathrooms were always neat. Sándor has a house slipper policy, which I appreciated. Overall lovely stay and I will be staying again in future visits to Budapest!

Avail Hostel is super great, and the other reviews was not lying. Sándor is an extremely caring and serviceminded host, and although there was some noise Saturday night, we slept through it ☺️ Will be coming her again!

There was a house party and karaoke directly next to the room. I chose this hostel because the reviews said it was totally silent despite of its location. I didn’t sleep a single second thanks to those reviews. If you’re only here for party: Great! If you want to use your room for sleeping: Stay as far away from here as possible, worst night of my life!

Fantastic place, amazing location and absolutely unbeatable and kind hosting / service. 😍 (It's true that at least some rooms are adjacent to loud karaoke at night as noted in the only low review so far, but if you know the area, plan to go out and/or plan for this it shouldn't be a problem.)

Amazing experience. Super clean, and with a kitchen and bathroom ( with tub and separate toilet) only shared with one other guest?! Amazing. I’m shocked by how welcoming my host was. There is some noise from the club nearby, you might want earplugs if you require absolutely silence.
