I’m not sure whether there are any lifts to get up on the fisherman’s bastions. I’ve only seen stairs going up. In my opinion it’s one of the most beautiful places in Budapest. It’s worth visiting anytime since it’s open 24 hours a day. Sometimes it can get extremely crowded because of the tourists but it is what it is. It’s one of the most famous city landmarks anyway. Most of the areas are free (except for the church, etc).

after the big climb it is really pretty! there are nice view points and places to hide from the sun. entry to the top is cheap, but i didn’t bother as you could see a beautiful view from the middle. recommend!! it is like a not painted disney land castle 😂🫶

Pretty like a Disney castle, but when we went it was also crowded like one. Away from the bastion, wandering through the quiet streets of Pest, the atmosphere was very different, so I suppose choose your timing well, because mid day in August is definitely not the best time to go.

If you want to do it during sunset hours, this place will look magical. Unfortunately I didn’t have time so I did it at noon, was super sunny and hot. But the views were just as good and I went into the chapel that was so gorgeous. Sat down for a quick prayer. Amazing place, great views and almost Disneyland like

Beautiful view, chill place to sit on the benches around with water fountain. Lower section is free [reminder] You can still take amazing pictures. Everyone is respectful and helpful to get those perfects pics. Ticket booth was card only, which was kind of a shame but guess it deters larger crowds which is good too.

Most romantic part of Budapest. Incredible views. Highly recommend going at sunset and staying as the lights of the city come on. Dazzling views. No tickets needed. Free.

Amazing architecture on top of the hill. Highly recommend visiting after the dark when the lights around the city illuminate everything. Before you keep walking up hill, there’s a bus connection from the chain bridge that we found out about on our way back!

Must visit for sunrise! You will love it. Lovely views and lots of people taking pics, yet not too busy at all!

A busy place.. but fantastic view over the river and parliament. I recommend going just before sunset as you get both daytime and excellent night photos.

So so so pretty especially during summer or spring time. The sky is blue and the tower so white and tall. Every corner very enchanted just like a fairytale. Please come earlier in the morning if you want to take pictures. The later, the more crowded. Definitely a must visit site!

One of the famous Budapest tourist attractions, always crowded so be prepared to wait in lines to take photos 😅 if coming with a car, it is a gated area so you’ll have to walk 500m-1km if parked in front. Easy access tho

here you will really find one of the most beautiful architectures in Europe. very nice view, enjoyment. there is also a souvenir shop that has very interesting things

We enjoyed a magical wander at night! The view was amazing and the lights enchanting. There were several vendors selling crafts and food; the former were a bit overpriced but some of the food was comparably priced to other winter markets we encountered in the city. A worthwhile stop!

Entrance is free. The fortress complex with the beautiful church is a great impression of Budapest! This whole part of the city has an irresistible charm and looks like a bohemian quarter. Much nicer on summer or spring.

I visited this during Christmas holidays in 2023. A wonderful sight with the snow. Don't miss an opportunity to catch sunset from the multiple panaromic viewpoints. There are food options nearby (Starbucks, Jamie Oliver's, etc.) is you are famished by the hike!

Beautiful place with amazing views. The public transportation bus takes you nearby and you just have to walk up some stairs. It’s free of charge. If you wanna go inside the church you have to buy a ticket. Must visit.
