As
I
ambled
along
the
street
at
10:30
with
my
72
year
old
mother
I
spotted
an
attractive
dark
haired
waitress
smoking
a
cigarette
and
chatting
with
her
colleague.
My
mother
asked
if
we
might
take
coffee
so
we
sat
at
one
of
the
outdoor
tables
of
the
San
Ramon
Cafe.
There
was
no
one
else
around
in
the
cafe
which
was
light
and
airy
but
tastefully
decorated.
There
was
a
smell
of
fresh
pastry
in
the
air
mixed
with
roasted
coffee
beans.
The
cafe
menu
was
written
in
Hungarian
which
thanks
to
the
marvels
of
technology
my
mobile
phone
translated
via
a
fancy
camera
application.
There
was
also
a
QR
code
on
the
menu
which
led
to
a
website
with
an
English
language
translation.
I
went
inside
to
order,
preparing
my
pitiful
knowledge
of
spoken
Hungarian
only
to
find
the
waitress
spoke
perfect
English...the
wry
amusement
written
all
over
her
face.
Two
cappuccinos
and
two
Croissants
were
ordered
and
paid
for
in
short
order
by
card.
They
were
then
brought
our
table
outside
and
consumed
whilst
taking
in
the
sights
and
smells
of
the
street.
The
cappuccino
was
excellently
brewed
and
poured,
adorned
with
a
milk
art
fern
leaf.
The
pastries
were
perfectly
baked,
crisp
on
the
outside
and
soft
and
buttery.
If
I
get
the
chance
I
will
visit
again...if
not
its
a
moment
I
won't
forget.
