Arrived at 8:50, only 3 tables of people. Waited over an hour for food. It came cold with no cutlery. Took another 10 minutes for cutlery to come so the food was stone cold. Ordered a second round of drinks which never came. When we went to pay we were told we couldn't split the bill because it had passed 10pm and that it wasn't their fault they forgot our second round of drinks because they had a party of 20 paying. Extremely poor customer service, terrible food, avoid this restaurant.

We were shocked. We ordered a platter for "two people" which was absolutely limited...it was more for one person and the price??? 8800 Ft.. I shall not mention the food contained mostly tortilla wraps in different sizes and shapes and tasteless for Mexican cuisine... An absolute disappointment for this price. The two stars go for the music and the environment which was absolutely lovely. The photo contained another tortilla wrap but was removed before the photo was taken.

We were in 2 minds about visiting as some of the reviews were not very good. We decided to walk by and see what we thought, the lady standing outside greeted us with the biggest smile so we decided to give it a go and so glad we did! Hands down the friendliest service we received all weekend. The food tasted so fresh and for us, the portions were so big we couldn't finish! The salsa is to die for! Definitely would go back again and would recommend you give it a try!

Excellent food and service. The place has a unique vibe, sitting there just makes you feel relaxed. We will definitely became recurring guests.

I wanted to have pork taco, but the waiter talked me over for the daily offer pulled pork taco. The meat plate came out surprisingly big. It tasted ok, but 8 hours after eating it I was not able to sleep as I'm having severe stomach ache, and I did not have anything else after that and 6 hours before that. I'm going to see my enterologist today to confirm the pork caused the trouble. I gave the standard 10 percent tip, and the same waiter did not warn me that a 10 percent service fee was already included in the bill. Before paying the waiter even wanted to ask me to pay in cash "because it was better for them" - which I didn't.

Amazing experience! Very Mexican place from the from the decoration, environment, drinks and the food. They welcomed me in such a warm way, excellent service and food is cooked by a very experienced Mexican chef Victor. Felt like I was back in Mexico🇲🇽👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The best, most authentic, Mexican flavor that I have had since being in Budapest! Fajitas were perfect, guacamole and salsa were on point, and the chicken in the quesadilla was perfectly seasoned.

Some of the best international flavours we've eaten since living in Budapest. Fresh, clean flavours. Beautiful interior. Lovely friendly staff. Levi was wonderful and spoke fabulous English, but entertained us practising Hungarian. I can't wait to go back!

Very attentive and polite staff, nice space on the pedestrian street. Visited for a coffee (Americano) & dessert (a chocolate-banana chimichanga), both delicious!

There are enough terrible reviews now posted so you should be able to avoid this disaster. Food was appalling served in broken chipped dishes. Tablecloth dirty. It is how I would imagine prison food to be. Previously prepared food is reheated in microwave. That's OK except it wasn't reheated properly and food cold in middle of dish (enchiladas). Complained and sent back, but not replaced. Just reheated again with soured cream and garnish microwaved as well on top of it, so completely inedible. Sent back uneaten as unfit for dogs. No replacement dish ever provided but insisted on charging for the uneaten food. Shame on these charlatans with their reheated, reheated, reheated pig swill. Do not be the unlucky customer that gets the food that I sent back reheated again and served to them because they do not care. They will take the money though so you have been warned! Without question the worst dining experience of my life so even though I was unable to eat it was at least memorable.

Really good service and delicious food

We were always used to pass by this restaurant but yday we decided to try it. To be honest, interior is very good and both the staffs were polite and giving a best service. Music was also making the atmosphere romantic. Main thing which is food could have been little better in taste. No doubt, portion was sufficient but if it’s more tastier would’ve given one more try. We had- Chicken quesadilla Cheese quesadilla Jalapeños popper #mexican

First of all, the food was something between average and bad. Secondly, the price for such a dish is enormous, so its a nonsense to go eat at this place(20 euros for a burito...) And in the third place, the guy who took our order added a 10% tips by default...without even asking; so...I could say he stole from me🙃 I doubt that anybody would enjoy such a bad experience.

The whole experience from food to service was slow, tired and booooring. Easy to find better place!

Enjoyable place, but food could and should be better. Portions are big, but it doesn't have taste and spiciness like it should have. Staff was a little bit slow, as we waited for the receipt a little too long.

The food was delicious the first time there. The chefs changed and so did the flavours and delivery the second time I ate the identical meal. They were clearly not equipped for high, late evening traffic. However, in less busy times, they delivered an excellent meal and great service.

The best Mexican restaurant in Budapest! Amazing fresh food, delicious tequila cocktails, and super friendly staff. Definitely a hidden gem.

I am usually very easy to please, but I have to admit that I have ambivalent feelings about my visit. The restaurant itself is really nice and cozy, the staff is rather polite, BUT: we had to wait a full hour for a single burrito and a quesadilla even though the place was completely vacant with only one other table being occupied throughout our visit. And even still, when the food finally arrived, it was cold! It didn’t taste bad at all but the temperature ruined the experience, sadly. Their homemade lemonades are worthy of acknowledgment, though.

On reaching we were told they only take cash and don't accept credit cards. The waitress was quite lost and didn't know things in their own menu. Then we ordered 3 mains, the chicken fajita for my son, the veggie enchilada for my husband and a veggie taco for myself. The food was pathetic, the Mexican rice was tasteless, the beans were watery, tortilla wrap that was served with the fajita was obviously made previously and reheated so became hard like cardboard, the enchilada looked and tasted like puke and my taco was so insipid that even after adding a ton of lime,i couldn't finish it, sad and disappointed especially since we travelled far to eat it. My son felt quesy after eating the chicken and even vomitted after returning bk to our hotel. PLEASE AVOID GOING...

Such an amazing restaurant. We basically fell into this place by shire accident and were so amazed. Good and very tasty food plus has such a laugh with all the staff. This place is a proper diamond to be found in a bag of coal. Such a relaxed atmosphere with a no problem attitude. Me and my wife could have spent all night here. Absolutely loved the place. Just wish that tonight wasn’t out last night here in Budapest because I could have seen us going. Back night after night. Highly recommended 👍🏻

HU: mirelit kaját adnak! Valaha ez egy nagyon jó étterem volt. EN: Better not to go there unless you are too lazy to warm up the mirelit food at home. It used to be a good place with real foods. Really disappointed. Small portions, low quality. They served this mirelit churros for that price. Thanks a lot, but never again.

- Their beef dishes didnt really have any taste, seasoning or spicy to it. - The portions was very small. - Overpriced especially for the portion sizes. (A couple of 100m away there is an Italien resturant where you can get grilled pork medallions with trouffle sauce for the same price of one of their tasteless enchiladas) - The greeting waiter almost seemed annoyed we wanted to eat there. + However, the waiter for our evning was very nice, good service. + Their chicken dishes was very good, nice seasoning. - However, there was no salsa or creme fraiche and only a tiny amount of guacamole + drinks are okay cheap

We were very happy with our dinner at this restaurant. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the food was good, we especially recommend the lime lemonade that goes very well with the nachos and quesadillas. The interior looks great and the live music was good as well. The food wasn't quite spicy enough for our tastes, but when asked they brought us some very spicy sauce that did the trick. All in all, highly recommended.

One of the best Mexican restaurant in Budapest! Fajita and churros is something you have to try!

Huge portions and for those, normal prices. I would recommend to come here for the Mexican food, while I assume their traditional Hungarian ones are good, too, those you can get at more places. But the Mexican ones here are delicious, on the picture there is a plate for 2, we were 3, and so much remained that two of us could take it home. The staff were not surprised at all, most likely it is happening often. About the staff: they were really polite and professional all the time. The place itself is underground, but quite big, 50+ people can sit down for sure.

We had fhe worst experience, we waited for an hour and a half for some nachos and still didn’t recieve anything. Had to leave with an empty stomach.

So strange when you order takeaway from here you get the saddest excuse for food. But when you actually go there and eat in the restaurant. The food is amazing - Huge portions and even great deserts.

I always wanted to go in and I did last Sunday. Then I saw the reviews and I had to try Mezcal again. For yesterday I booked a table and visited again with friends. I really liked the interior, the radio played some Latino music and the staff was friendly. There were no crowd yesterday even Mezcal has a 50% discount on food every Thursday - so I guess the waiters were not busy to smile and show kindness. About the food - after all this is a place you go to eat. We liked it (asked my friends as well) it was okay - no mistake (not too spicy, not bland, not overcooked, no problem at all) and the portions were okay, too. But that's all, nothing special (will ask some Mexican expats to visit and review the restaurant). And the price is a bit high - you'd expect a bit lower in this area of Budapest. For this I'd have expected more. After all if you live close to Mezcal I can recommend them, you can get a nice average dinner at a calm place.

Rude service, got my order wrong, overpriced for what it is

The place is nice with Spanish (or Mexican) music, Mexican paintings on the walls, sombreros, etc, which gave an authentic atmosphere for me. The food was delicious and the portions are fine. By default the place is a bit too pricey, but on Thursdays and Sundays they give 50% discount from the price of the food if you make a reservation. I ordered fajitas it was great.

This is a good Mexican restaurant, not but a Mexican fast food shop. First I felt it was expensive than other Mexican food shops, but because this is a good restaurant. The staffs are so kind, and the food is delicious. The area is rather a quiet place.
