Cute place trying to be fine-dining but the food and wine pairing doesn’t live up to the expectations. Concept, service and plating are very good (4 stars). The food itself was mediocre at best and the wine pairing didn’t complement the food at all (2 stars). We had the Lord of the Rings menu: the Gorgonzola starter was creative and surprisingly light which was positive. The mackerel that followed was served with a huge amount of potatoes and was overall a bit plain. The rabbit tasted good but was dry and the vegetables that came along didn’t match. The palette cleanser ice cream was way too heavy and creamy - it felt like a dessert. The main course (tenderloin) was overcooked (almost well done) and even had a bit of a burnt crust. The crisps that came along with the beef were soggy and chewy in the sauce and mash (again potato). The chocolate dessert was very heavy in orange sour and sweet sauce and the sweet wine wasn’t a good pairing either as it’s an overkill. Wine pairing: the local Hungarian wines we tried in some of the wine bars in Budapest were all better than the ones chosen for our pairing.

This restaurant is a true gem. I've been to fine dining establishments all over the world and my several experiences here would rival any of those. Our party of 4 agreed it was more impressive than another recent trip to a Michelin-rated restaurant here in Budapest - and at under half the price! Everything from the food, the service, and the book theme works wonderfully together. I will look forward to my return every time I pass through Budapest.

The menu is very special and I highly (!) recommend going for the well-thought-through five course meal that is dedicated to a book (Little Women in my case). You can additionally choose to order the wine that goes with each course (would recommend). Definitely look them up in advance so you can read the book (they change it a few times a year), as this will make your dinner experience even more special. The staff is very polite and professional and will explain the thoughts that went into the creation of each dish. There's, however, also the option to choose from their regular menu. The restaurant itself is very cozy and not very big which made us feel comfortable being there. Added pictures of 5 course meal (I forgot to take a picture of the entree as I was too hungry.)

We were lucky to have gotten the last table on a Saturday night without a reservation. The menu had some incredible selections which I understand change regularly. The eggplant appetizer was incredible as was the potato dumplings. The staff was really friendly and professional. Overall a very special treat for our final day in Budapest.

I had the rib eye steak with fries, followed by the texture of apples chocolate dessert. The steak was done perfectly and needed no sauce, just a little salt and pepper and it tasted amazing. The texture of apples tasted amazing, it's just a pity about the look of the dish (images attached will show you what I mean). All told a very good meal at a reasonable price.

Got in late on a Sunday and this restaurant was round the corner. Didn't have time to eat and they were very accommodating and may a very tasty takeway burger and fries for me. Great burger, wish we got more fries on the side since their quality was great but sadly the portion was very small. My boyfriend asked for a none dairy bun (they offer brioche bun) and they offered to serve is burger in a pita which was super funny, but he said it was tasty nevertheless. The price is quite high but it's worth it.

The toasted bun was fluffy, the caramelized onions, juicy tomatoes, fresh lettuce and crunchy pickles balanced out the meatiness of the medium rare tender beef patty and fatty bacon. One thing that's fascinating to me, is that the shoestring fries are served in a combination of potatoes + sweet potato fries. The goulash soup was yummy and satisfying. I tried a bit of the pulled pork sandwich; it was a tad bit spicy (in a good way), tender and flavorful. The staff was very friendly, attentive and responsive, which was nice. The route to the toilet was down a steep, dimly-lit flight of stairs, which was daunting for my younger son and noteworthy for people with mobility issues.

Absolutely amazing! The food was insane, service was amazing and the staff were super friendly too. I had the blackberry lemonade and it was so yummy. The portions were large however not many fries but they weren’t needed. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, So much flavour!
