For
the
expectation
they
boast
of
excellence,
this
place
is
vastly
mediocre.
It's
difficult
to
be
so
critical,
however,
the
quality
does
not
match
the
price.
Upon
arriving,
we
were
recommended
"wonderful
and
cozy
seats,"
which
happened
to
be
at
the
bar,
closest
to
the
door
on
the
coldest
day
of
the
year
so
far;
an
extremely
high
traffic
area.
We
thought
maybe
because
we
didn't
have
reservations,
however,
when
we
finished
our
meal,
the
restaurant
was
at
most
75%
full
and
more
suitable
seating
was
available
the
entire
time.
We
spent
a
lot
here,
perhaps
too
much,
mostly
because
we
expected
great
things.
After
ordering
our
meal,
the
staff
recommended
bringing
us
all
of
our
dishes
at
the
same
time,
with
no
order,
telling
us
that
everything
is
served
in
plates
to
share
family
style.
By
the
time
we
tried
a
bite
of
each,
everything
had
gotten
cold.
We
started
with
the
oysters
from
France,
which
were
perfectly
fresh.
However,
they
were
shucked
carelessly,
so
we
had
bits
of
shell
throughout
each
bite.
We
opted
to
try
their
dry
aged
wagyu
ribeye.
We've
had
both
dry
aged
steaks
and
wagyu
before,
but
this
one
missed
the
mark
on
both
fronts.
It
was
cooked
with
great
skill
but
I
was
unsure
if
it
was
aged
at
all
and
the
cut
was
inconsistent
throughout
the
steak
with
a
large
line
of
chewy
connective
tissue
that
was
stuck
in
my
teeth
all
night
afterwards.
The
duck
gyoza
had
an
interesting
wrapper
with
great
chew
and
sufficient
filling,
but
the
duck
was
dry
and
not
delicate.
The
calamari
was
tender,
and
the
sauce
was
good,
but
it
was
incredibly
overhanded.
When
trying
to
get
a
balanced
bite
from
the
dish,
you
couldn't
tell
that
there
was
any
squid
in
both
texture
and
flavor.
Maybe
personal
preference,
but
I
believe
that
there
was
nothing
done
to
highlight
the
calimari
at
all.
There
is
more
I
could
discuss
outside
of
just
food,
but
if
you're
willing
to
pursue
their
menu
for
great
food
and/or
a
unique
experience,
youre
much
better
off
going
to
a
recognized
Michelin
starred
restaurant
considering
the
price.
If
you're
willing
to
budget
yourself,
be
prepared
for
non
memorable
dishes.
Perhaps
it's
the
location.
Perhaps
it
is
a
tourist
trap.
No
matter
the
case,
we
were
unfortunately
disappointed.
