This is just a catfish hotel 😂 I was shocked when we arrived, everything is was dirty and outdated, don’t be fooled by the photos. Our bed cover was see through and we could easily see the blood stains on the mattress and the room was all in pen marks, they just took a black pen and covered all the scratches and its just awkward, there are like 100 pen marks. We found the spa to be dirty and the sauna is for two people. We informed the staff about the blood stain in our mattress and they just said “thanks for informing us” not offering anything else. But we just laughed it off, we thought we were going to some nice luxury hotel (price and pictures), I never would have guessed this was going to be our experience. I just feel bad for people who decided to stay here more than one day. I encourage the hotel to update their hotel, as they are quite too expensive considering what they are offering their customers. It is possible to be in old fashioned and still be worthy of 4-5 stars. Ive seen Hungarian hotels be able to pull that off. To any guides looking for accommodating your customers here, I do not recommend this hotel. Ps. I need that photographer email he obviously has a talent at taking and editing photos.

This is the first time when I complain about a hotel room. We arrived to a very noisy lobby as an event took place there. We booked our room on the 1 floor with "executive rooms", but our room smelled like a high-school toilet. The smell of smoke and urinal was not appreciated so we came straight back again. We got another room, this room smelled smoked and it seemed that someone had been using the furniture as an ash tray. Moreover, this room was not cleaned well (dust on the table, dirty floor, used napkin under the bed), what is absolutely inappropriate. We went down to the lobby for the third time and informed the front desk team that we do not want to stay at the hotel. A receptionist clarified this with their GM, and we got our money back (hopefully). The front desk staff apologized, but that did not help us with our extra expenses, wasted time and annoyance. Later we got an email with a "thank you for staying" survey but it was not possible to follow the link, so we were not able to give feedback directly to the hotel. Fortunately, we found another hotel in the city.

For 4 days in early November we had the great luck to have been booked into the Aquincum Hotel by the service that arranged our trip. Were I asked to name one negative I couldn't. To begin with the staff, when we checked in and throughout our stay, was friendly and helpful. From check in to arranging for an early morning taxi, to going above and beyond to research questions I asked, each person was exemplary. Our room was comfortable with a very nice view and immaculate. In addition to comfortable and clean beds we were also provided with extra towels, bathrobes and slippers for use in the excellent on-site spa. Our bathroom had excellent water pressure (always important!) and was easily maneuvered. The spa has 3 pools of varying degrees of heat, a hot tub and separate gender saunas ,as well as changing rooms, showers and a lovely reception with a small snack bar and lockers. In addition there is a gym. The hotel, while not located close to city center was an easy 4 minute walk to the public transportation. (NOTE: If you are a European citizen and over 70 all public transportation is free. You need only show your passport or official ID.) The area is lovely and quiet and there are a number of excellent restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. But, if you have had a busy day the River Bar is a perfect stop for a light dinner. (The Goulash Soup is very good) The Apicius Restaurant looked beautiful though we did not dine there. The breakfast was sumptuous with virtually anything one might want. WE have already recommended the hotel 4 times during the rest of our stay in Europe and will continue to do so with anyone who might be traveling to Budapest and we will surely make reservations for any return visit.

This is an absolute amazing location. Rooms are avarage, nothing special, but it is clean and nice. Bar and restaurant is all right, checkin is easy. However, i cannot understand, why it is neccesary to pay parking fee, if you have a room. Nor parking fee, nor room price is low. I guess in such a room price, parking fee should be included.

A hotel, which has seen better days. The rooms are clean, but a little bit worn. During our stay the air-conditioning was switched off leading to high temperatures in the room. Therefore a proper sleep was hardly possible. Furthermore during the stay of four days the TV did not work on 3 days. Strong improvement is mandatory to keep us as guests in the future.

Average hotel located 20 minutes from the city centre. Furniture is old and worn out. Need a refreshment. Breakfast is not good. Fortunately you can sleep because the rooms are quiet.

Beautiful hotel, fabulous spa area, pool, thermal pool , jacuzzi. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Large bar, food was reasonably priced, large portions and very good quality. Spacious, comfortable room. It's about 15 minutes from city centre. Good public transport right outside. Well done to management and staff. We absolutely loved our stay. Budapest stole my heart ❤

I stayed in the hotel for 5 nights and can definitely recommend the place! The service was great, the staff friendly and supportive. The standard room was well furnished and cozy, king-size bed was comfortable. It was a bit cold in the room (in the beginning of November) as the heating was not on. The breakfast was delicious with a lot of options for every taste. I also liked the spa area, especially the thermal pools. The only inconvenience that it was a bit cold in the spa area, so most of the time I stayed in the heated pool (it was too cold to use the standard pool often). Thai Massage was great! Price / value ration is ok, considering that the Spa facilities are included in the price. Please note, that the hotel is located approximately 40 mins away from the city center.

Affordable hotel but an Uber ride away from the main sights balanced it out. The hotel itself was very nice. The staff was wonderful. My friend and I arrived after a flight delay and lost luggage. They saw to it our laundry was done promptly. The people at the desk really couldn’t have been nicer.

Stayed here for a week, to say I was disappointed is an understatement, I paid to stay in a 4 star hotel so you expect good service, which wasn’t the experience we had. Firstly I emailed prior to arrival asking for a room with two single beds, which I received a reply saying this would be noted on our booking, then when we check in we get put in a room with a double bed only so had to go back down to reception and they changed our room to one with two single beds. Then yes the rooms are a little worn but still fine and comfortable, had no issues there, the main issue was the fact the key cards to our room door almost never worked more than once. On our second day there between the two of us we went through 6 room cards, that’s 5 times in the one day that one of us had to go down to reception to get a new room card. I asked if this was normal and if we could move rooms if not but was told by the lady at reception that all rooms have issues with the key cards. I was also told keeping them near your phone can affect the magnetic strip but I kept the card in my wallet with all my other cards the whole time, away from my phone. After the 6th day and personally going down 16 times over the stay for new key cards (just myself, combined between the two of us it would’ve been 20+ cards) it’s safe to say I was pretty fed up with not being able to access my room when I wanted and consistently having to come down to reception after nearly every time I left the room, so I asked to speak to a manager and asked why this kept happening and if we could be compensated for the inconvenience which really ruined our time at the hotel (we’d go out for dinner and have a couple drinks after and then you’d just want to go to bed and then come back to the hotel and get the lift up to the room and then have to turn around and come back down and get a new key before being able to go in the room). It’s a complete waste of time and something that is not acceptable at all from a 4 star hotel. The manager at the time who I spoke to then stated that according to his system we only had 4 room key changes and that it wasn’t possible we had more, so I asked for him to go on the security cameras as I have the times for every time the key was changed which he refused, again reiterating that the system said we only had 4 room keys. Then he offered us one drink voucher each at the bar for compensation, which really made me feel like they didn’t value us as customers at all. Wouldn’t recommend staying here, you can stay closer to the city at the same rate in hotels that actually care about service and your experience.

Has been a nice stay. A little out the way from the centre but the tram, busses and lime scooters are all nearby ready to use. Spa facilities are brilliant. Only issue is the temperature in the room. The heating / air conditioning can't be changed and sits at 25c, way too hot. This has been mentioned in reviews multiple times but I didn't see till I got here and was wondering if others had similar issues. Reviews complaining about the same thing date from 3 years ago and the last one 3 months ago.

The hotel is very comfortable, rooms are quite big and spacious, breakfast so delicious and the staff and the receptionists very friendly, welcoming and ready to help with everything. I enjoyed the spa and the pool too. I wanted to iron my shirt once but there was no option in the room, so it would be nice to add it, but everything else was perfect. Definitely recommend it, and I really enjoyed my time there.

The hotel was totally in mess with rubbish on the floor and hair on bedding sheets when we checked in, then we changed 2 times to find a room which was tidied up before checked in. Honestly saying, management and equipment standard are quite low to match its 4 star level. Lots of unconvinience issues incurred during our staying. Specifically, when we asked earlier check-out, I found the reception staffs are very good at make fake excuses and arguing with guests. Obviously it's a unpleasant stay in such a hotel!

I spent 6 nights in the hotel and considered it decent value for money. The room was somewhat dated by modern standards, but I had a comfortable stay. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with a huge variety of goodies to enjoy. The spa facilities were excellent and never too crowded. The location is a bit outside the city centre but the transport connections are second to none. I found all the staff I dealt with very friendly and approachable. Special mention for Nikki in the River Bar who couldn't do enough for you and who brightened up my late evening drinks!

The hotel's amenities are quite outdated. The spa and the bathroom in the hotel were not maintaned well and even looked moldy in some parts. The room service did not clean our room properly even once during our 5 night stay (did not refill minibar, left empty bottles around), and even left our door completely open with our laptops on the table!! I forgot my wallet in the safe at the hotel and they are incapable of sending it back for almost a week already and are difficult to reach. On the other hand, the breakfast was quite good and the reception staff and the restaurant staff were very pleasant and professional.

parking is not included with stay, available for 4800 HUF/night, but would be a great option to have this offered/included with the Hotel stay, as it is not a walkable option from bus/train stations or airport... hallways/rooms as well as carpey/walls/doors vould use some cleanup/fixing as carpet in room is dirty, A/C is not working...some doors hardware appears to be last time was fixed 10-15 years ago... somewhat disappointed for the quality expected... could be a great value due to location, closeness to Margaret Island...

Service and food are good. Rooms, however, are old and needing care necessary for old paint and finishes. Location is about 20-30 minutes in taxi to city center due to traffic in peak hours. I guess an ok hotel.

I was staying there for one week for work and I have to say the following: Negatives points: - The rooms are not cleaned, you can see the photos attached - The SPA is REALLY DIRTY (you could see any kind of disgusting things inside) - The gym is dirty as well Positives points: - Comfortable beds - Good breakfast The conclusion is that this shouldn’t be neither a 3 or 4 star hotel as it is not meeting the requirements to have them. Disappointing

Excellent fasciitis and staff. Room furniture was a bit aged and you need to use public transport/car/taxi to access most tourists sites as quite a long walk away.

This place is a great place to stay in when visiting Budapest. With amazing breakfasts where everyone can choose anything they want (even gluten free or vegan people), thermal pools and comfy rooms, it truly offers an all-encompassing experience. ❤️ Only negative things - along many, many good things - were: 1. Loud traffic (it's right next to a very busy motorway, miles away - figuratively speaking - from being located in a quiet location. 2 Poor wifi connection (mainly during the night) and 3. Having to pay for breakfast even though I was breakfast was supposed to be included in my stay (after providing my booking email and an invoice they gave the money back). Overall an enjoyable experience though.🫡

We enjoyed our stay at the Aquincum Hotel, it was ideal for what we were looking for. It is a great value hotel which is located within a reasonable distance of any tourist destination in the city with great public transport connections. The room was fine, we did have to ask for extra pillows as we found they were quite thin. The bed was a queen size but it came with two separate single duvets which was an interesting setup. The spa area is great and free to use for hotel guests. The breakfast was good with a wide range to choose from so there's something for everyone. The River Bar was a handy spot for an evening beer and we ate there once. The food was very nice and convenient for us. We would definitely consider staying here again if we return to Budapest.

This was a great hotel, there are 3 pools with different temperatures that are suitable for everyone! The room was luxurious as we got an awesome view over the lake. Thank you, Aquincum!

My husband booked a room for 2 for 150 euro for the night. When we checked in the temperature in the room was 27 degrees. We thought that it needs time for cool down the room, so we went to the city. We came back in few hours and temperate was 28 degrees. We told the staff on reception about this and then placed 2 fans in our room. We told that it’s ridiculous and asked to switch the room. Once we got in the new room the situation repeated. While it was 30+ outside, we had to sleep with temperature 26-27 in the room although A/C was set to 21 degrees. It just didn’t work! One of the windows was broken and we were not even able to open it. The staff was nice, but they were not able to solve our problem. No compensation was proposed. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for the stay. It doesn’t worth the money you pay.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Aquincum Hotel. We especially enjoyed the Thermal Baths in the spa area. We thought the breakfast buffet was quite good, and while our room was nothing special, we were quite comfortable there. The important thing for us was that there was a major public transportation stop close-by which enabled us to get-to many places fairly easily. We had dinner in the restaurant and drinks in the River Bar. We found the service was very good in both areas. And the front desk was very helpful in answering our questions.

I think one of the best hotel in Budapest. Service, location, spa and breakfast were top. They have also a really big private parking very useful for who is driving a lot for work like me. A special thanks to two persons in particular: Nisrine, in the counter that helped me in a very professional way with a problem we had with my credit card in the system. Andrea, one of the best manager I found in all my business trips that helped me to change room and assisted me with an incredible kindness. I will definitely choose this hotel for my next trip to Budapest!

  • 2/5 Jaime H. 6 months ago on Google
Disappointed stay, our room was below average. Long black hair on the bathroom floor. Bedroom curtains falling, dirty walls, and cement patches on the wall. We stayed for 2 nights with a tour group so we were out all day otherwise I would have asked for a different room. We stayed in Room 245.

  • 3/5 Vince L. 6 months ago on Google
Rooms are dated that is for sure. Carpet needs renewal and same goes for the badroom, old fashioned ... And not very comfortable with a high step in. Breakfast ok for 15 euro. Bed comfort ok There is a train rail about 50 meter away from the hotel... wake up wake up in the middle of the night. You need taxi or public transport to connect with to the city centre... has pool and spa facilities and bar open until midnight.

Stayed here because of it's location to a customer I was visiting. Easy access to bus routes and not too bad to get to city centre. Hotel is typical of many I have stayed in whilst traveling Eastern Europe. Yes it's a bit dated and tired but I have no issue with that and based on price you can/should accept that. Comfortable room, helpful staff, nice breakfast and spa complex means I will stay again.

This was our second visit to this hotel. We feel good in it and will definitely come again. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, especially in the Spa area. Excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms, everyone works hard to make the stay as good as possible. Everything you ask for, you get. You need to be careful because the tiles around the pool are very slippery. The problem with raising and lowering the ramp in the parking lot brings a little nervousness, but these are all little things that the hotel is working on to eliminate the problem.

Undoubtedly this is a international hotel. The most of the staff are foreigners who are very friendly and attentive. The staffs also speak English among themselves. Hard to find a staff who speaks Hungarian. The room was spacious enough and the breakfast met my expectations. Always hard to write a review when I see this hotel a good choice and affordable for staying and however I should to mention some disadvantageous things. Entering the room at the first sight the room seems very clean but closer, the sink was dirty and the contents of the toilet was not flushed and cleaned 😏 I am sure that was an one-time mistake, the hotel has a pleasant atmosphere. Overall it's worth coming here.

Today we spent a day at the spa and it exceeded all my expectations. In general, the staff at all spas are rude, patronizing and tired. Here the staff were fresh, friendly and helpful. We were also given three towels and bathrobes (included in the price). The pools were not crowded, in fact the whole spa was good for 30 people in all. The water was also perfect, surprisingly good value for money if you want to unwind but don't feel like traveling and don't want to be soaking in the tourist traps (Széchényi, Rudas, Lukács etc) with millions of noisy tourists.

Not family friendly hotel. I have been told of by a young men in the pool couple of times once my lough was too loud another times my kids where playing in the water. Kids are playing they didn't jump just played nicely in the water. Family room is 2 room just a door connect them. Breakfast was good.

A nice, very clean hotel with a friendly staff always eager to help! I appreciated that whenever we asked them to call us a taxi, we could either pay with cash or credit card (it was very helpful since we didn't always carry money in the local currency with us). The room was very comfortable and clean and I liked that they paid much attention to the non-smoking rule. Although it is a bit far from the city center, we had the chance to take a long walk along the river and enjoyed the view.

This review has taken me a year to write, but better late than never. After receiving a diagnosis I decided to take this trip because it was something I always wanted to do. Unfortunately my trip was botched due to the pandemic. I was extremely stressed due to my health, being do far from home, and in a country where English is not the native language. BUT, despite all of this I felt so welcome and taken care of despite all the craziness. Everyone was kind and very helpful. So much thanks to all of you for helping me get through that experience. I hope to be back one day! The only thing I would like is a more comfortable bed.

Do not recommend, terrible service, we had 2 insects in our room, didnt have our room cleaned for 3 days, you cant even get towels at this place, when you ask for it the best answer they have is to go check maybe the pool has some to offer, do yourself a favour and dont book at this hotel.

Been here 1 time, and will definitely comeback here. Prices are good. Staff is amazing and friendly. They have such beautiful rooms and bathtop, TV air con etc. Even your private robes and shoes. The gym is also quite nice everything you need for a good workout if you're into that. A swimming pool, spa, jacuzzi, sauna. Even heated pools all in their basement department. I can only recommend this place!

A terrible place with a very weak and non welcoming stuff. As well as a non professional management. We stayed at the hotel a few weeks ago and every thing was perfect. ( Some issues about cleaning, but ok) This is why we decided to give it another visit, but unfortunately it was a very bad decisions, we received a dark, completely dirty room a very small one as well. We have a baby so for a family and comparing to the previous room and even to a 4 Star Hotel it was a shameful room by all meaning. We requested a change of the room since we payed for the room as we arrived and they said no they can't!!!! We heard the receptionist speaking in the phone in Hungarian saying that the have 30 room free and they know about it but they don't see it on the system!! And he asked us after the phone call to give them a half an hour and they well managed it . We waited for over an hour and they said Ah. No we can't change the room . With out giving any reason . And we have to accept this one !!!. And the manager was there and we asked for the manager and they hidden his present !??!. So we asked for our money back which was already pre- prepared!!! Noticing that we had a baby whom really suffered the whole waiting and situation. By all meaning it's a non friendly not a good place for families nor others. I don't know it's a change in management or ownership. And they don't care about Guests comfort nor satisfaction any more !!!!! Any how it's there choice!!! My advice to avoid the place you can find a real 4 Star hotels with good prices and much better services. And who really respect and do all they can to make there guest enjoy their stay

Breakfast ok, please upgrade your coffee mashine :) as well as some renovation . New Year’s Eve party went on but we haven’t booked it, we regretted it actually. Hotel itself is not in the center but the public transport is very good. In short: we’d like to come back one day

Stayed here for a few days during December and did not want to leave! There is a lovely spa with a gym, warm thermal pools, jacuzzi, steam room and separate male & female saunas which are all open from 6am to 10pm- perfect for early mornings before a day out or after a long day of adventuring. The lobby was decorated beautifully for Christmas, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. There was a good selection of breakfast items including fruit, pastry’s, toast, cereal, yogurt, hot breakfast, cheeses & meats with juice, coffee & hot chocolate. There is great public transport less than 2 mins walk away into the city and an information station to buy travel tickets. We loved it here and would stay again if we come back to Budapest.

The location was good for the most part, as it was located near a bunch of stops. The only thing is that to get to the Pest side of the city it took a while. Service was good as they were super friendly and very nice people. The only thing is they said it wasn't "hot enough" to turn on the AC, but in the rooms despite them giving us fans it was super hot. This is why stars are docked.

Friendly staff and varied breakfast (Included) Things I found interesting about this hotel are: - Standard Gym - 3 swimming pools at different temperatures - Steam Bath - Sauna - Jacuzzi - Piano at the entrance if you wanna kill time - Room service everyday - Restaurant at lobby Things that can be improved: - Staff charged me for one dinner a Service fee (Twice?) - When I got to the hotel it took them almost 2h to give me my room because of an error in their system. Overall, a great place to stay

Loved the sauna and spa, the indoor pool and the sumptuous buffet breakfast. Ideal location- H5 and bus stop roughly 150m in the vicinity. Atmosphere is chill with a few lounges for discussions, a bar and a restauranté! The rooms are conspicuously clean..had no issues in my stay there.

We were here from 15 to 16 April 2022. We spent 650 RON for 1 night. They charged the parking and the breakfasts for me,wife, daughter an extra 165 RON. The Bed in the room is too small for 2 adults and 1 little kid. But services were ok. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is nicely placed in the Danube area. Overall it was ok.

When you go to 4* hotel you should expect some level of standard but this hotel is 2* max 3* quality. Definatelly hotel requires renovarion. Maine issues: - it is extream mess on booking and payment proces. I spend 30 minutes tring to realize how much I have to pay - room service knocking to my room to clean it at 9 pm! (At this time people are resting!) - we requested taxi for the morning to be on time on airport and they just forget to do this! - aircondition im one of our room was not working - at the bar guys are not able to prepare even simple drink. Maybe I complain to much but to to remind - this is 4* hotel.

This hotel is okay. Does it live up to the 4 stars? No. Absolutely not. I asked many times for a baby bed to be ready in our room, but when we got our room it was empty. And when we later that day got the baby bed for our son it was without a mattress??! Why?.. The double bed was WAY too soft and looked old. (See image) The breakfast was okay, nothing special and nothing homemade. The pool/ spa area was great, so beautiful - but the pools really needed cleaning!! Lot’s of sand and dirt in the water.

The building is very nice, but the interior is very oldish. The cleaning service is not the best, we got dirty towels. The breakfast is really good. There are 3 pools in the basement. Little bit too expensive if you look at the quality. In the rooms there are very few power outlets. If you turn down the lights there are no electricity in the power outlets.

The rooms were spacious and modern. The food was fabulous. Freshly made nothing to be unhappy about. I can just recommend to visit the Spa area . The water in the Pool are so warm it relaxes your muscles amazingly. I never have slept ever that good after being in the pool .

A little far from the City center but a very comfortable location with many ways to commute using public transport. Rooms with a view to the Danube river. On the bottom floor there is a great spa with 3 swimming pools, each with a different temperature, a jacuzzi, saunas and showers. The breakfast is very rich. The staff is very welcoming and are happy to help with ordering dinner reservations and with any request.

Stayed there for 2 nights this past weekend & the staff were very accommodating, food and drinks were great, reasonably priced too. The room was lovely, very big bed & overall very clean. The buffet style breakfast was a great idea- all different types of food & all tasted great. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to any one
