We had room with really old bathroom and furniture, bed covered with hospital-like plastic sheet, soft and uncomfortable. View on fire escape. I really don't recommend. There are many better options in the same price range. Breakfast was good though, over expectations.

The hotel is quite old now. The rooms are ugly and not very friendly. It is reasonably clean. Breakfasts are even ok. Very good location. Close to many interesting places. The hotel is close to the metro station. It is quite easy to get to from the airport.

Very cheap in every sense of the word. Cleaning should be improved on all levels. Everything was dirty. The room smelled old and disgusting. The waste bin on the tables at the breakfast were not empty on the second day. I found the things I put in the day before in it on the second day - plus a fly. The bed had sticky strains on the frame. There was lots of hair that wasn't ours in the room. Didn't get any bottled water at the reception. The toaster was squeaking all the time - a noise you can't unhear once you heard it. Staff was extremely kind. Second visit after 5 weeks: we got the same room, guess what: sticky strains were still there!!! Got another room - but in that room the beds were uncomfortable. Bathroom was dirty and the worst: we had no WiFi connection because the room was in the corner. All in all - the second stay was even worse than the first!!

I booked 2 adults and 1 child 12 years old in one double room. Although Booking.com's hotel policy states that children up to 13 years old receive an extra bed free of charge, they charged an extra 20 euros per night for an extra bed for a child up to 12 years old. If I had informed in advance that 20 euros per night would be added, I would have booked a better condition hotel than this one. The hotel is out of the way, outdated, and when I first entered the hotel room, the soap ran out. I don't recommend it. Do not go.

Basically everything other than the location was horrible. 1) The breakfast was terrible. Not much variety and very bland taste. The coffee machine makes revolting drinks unlike usual coffee machines in other hotels. adding to this, there was absolutely no service if you need anything and the waiters/waitresses were extremely rude. They won’t even stop to respond to you if you ask them a question and would wave you off completely dismissing you! Our experience with the breakfast was so bad, we decided to have breakfast outside of the hotel for the rest of the stay (even though we paid for a breakfast included full stay) 2) RUDE receptionists!!! I was surprised how rude they are since receptionists are usually the first representatives of a country to any tourist. It was appalling to me how they decided to treat guests visiting their country for the first time…they were extremely unfriendly and would make fun of you with each other in front of you since you don’t understand their language. Management should really invest in some trainings for them so they can properly treat guests or they should just work in any industry other than hospitality. All in all, I definitely do not recommend this place and would suggest searching for another place if possible.

Nice hotel. Rooms are little small for family traveller but well maintained. Service was good. Breakfast was good. Beds are nice and toilet and shower was clean and good too. We requested for 2hrs early check in as we were travelling overnight, but they refused. Location is good and close to metro yellow line.

Staff are not friendly, no coffee facilities in room, school kids put on same floor as other guests and disturbing them until late. Overall not a nice place to stay. Fortunately its in a good location to the city. Needs lots of improving.

The rooms were nice but I only gave it 4 stars because it didn't have air-conditioning. This seems to be common in Europe though. The staff was helpful and friendly. They went out their way to make sure we had a good stay there.

I had 2nights on August 13th and 14th and I realized I least my bracelet and air pod. As soon as I called them, house keepings were not there, so reception wanted me to call me tomorrow. When I called them the day after, he said just leave an email and hung up the phone. I called them again, and another lady said they haven’t clean up the room yet. Now they email me they haven’t found anything in my room on August 14th. How would they clean up my room and checked my belongings on August 14th even I did not check out ? I left there room on August 15th !! The bracelet is from my grandmother and I am 100% sure I left mine in there room. I will post this to my country’s blog and I will leave a review on Agoda so that customers will not come to this hotel anymore. Terrible service and no responsibility Never being there !!!!

Initially booked single room, but bathroom needed some TLC. Upgraded after 1 night to a superior double, really nice and worth extra €20 a night which included breakfast. That room came with more storage, balcony and well designed bathroom with corner shower cubicle. I ate on terrace every day, food was excellent quality and very reasonably priced. Service to was very good, suggest you tip extra as service charge split with all staff so your server only get a small fraction. Not impressed with breakfast, only hot option that appealed was scrambled eggs. Twice i got last, small portion of that in tray. No tomatoes, bacon, hash browns etc. Juices and coffee good. Room cleaning was good, and they worked around my afternoon siesta. Front desk extremely helpful e.g. currency exchange, info on attractions, laundry. Location is in nice tree lined avenue, just off 2 major roads with metro nearby. Is also close to large park, national art gallery, museum, small supermarket. Food is high on my agenda, as is getting a massage. Only found 1 really good restaurant nearby, paprika. I could walk in lunch time but even early evening were fully booked, recommend booking in evening. Lack of good eating options, and other services only reason for not giving 5 stars for location. Is safe, quiet with metro nearby. I looked at more central hotels but was lot better value staying here and getting taxis, metro, walking as needed.

The room was nice , clean and not so small . In the room there is a safe box and a small minibar. We just had one towel wasn't clean , and they changed it. Service was nice and the staff were helpful . The breakfast was good but not every item was filled if it was finished.

I was very well pleased with the hotel and it's great location. But I would like to point the great service at the front desk by the bearded gentleman. He helped me solve problems I was having with my flight and a credit card. The breakfasts and lunch I had were all excellent. From a Hungarian expatriate with respect. God bless all of you.

Stayed 6 nights and had meetings hosted by the hotel. My room was in the older part of the hotel (Soviet era) and was very basic, and the bed was not comfortable. A good economy hotel close to the downtown area and easily accessible by bus and underground.

  • 5/5 Ana M. 8 months ago on Google
We found the hotel easily. It's clean and comfy. The breakfast was delicious. There was enough public parking space in the street and Zoë enjoyed playing in the hotel garden with the other hotel guests.

Great location in the embassy district of Budapest. Within walking distance to restaurants, Hero’s Square and City Park. Tree lined streets wrought iron fences and stately buildings. Rooms had decent clothes storage desk and a foldout bed. The bed was not very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious and we enjoyed having our cappuccinos on the outdoor patio. Our shower head was broken when we checked in but was replaced within 15 minutes of calling down to report the problem.

The Hotel itself is older including the furniture but it is clean with excellent staff from the people in the reception and those lovely ones in the restaurant. I cannot forget the maintenance man who saved my life when I got stuck in a lift and he calmed me down by saying they will get me out immediately and he really did🥀. There is enough tasty food including fresh fruit and juice. The hotel is situated really close to the city park with the thermal spa, ZOO, other beautiful places. It is easy to get there from the Nyugati station by 72M trolleybus. I definitely recommend the hotel.

Everything is too old, the room was not clean there were hairs on pillows and bed sheets, the bathroom is not practical because of old and rusty equipments. You can easily hear the next rooms and it makes it hard to have a good sleep if they’re noisy.

Charged extra 2 euros named tourist tax. No hot water, no drinking water, no clean pillow case, plastic sheet under bed sheet, no Air conditioner although paid for it in Agoda, no polite receptionists, no change for dirty hairy pillow cases just saying oops taking the hair and nonsense talk, no shampoo, no toothbrush, outdated bathroom and everything, horror scenery theme

The food was good, and the room was clean. The location is perfect, close to the M1 metro station. However we did have a problem, the mattress was torn in our room with the end of the springs sticking out. It was torn in multiple places on both sides. We weren’t staying in the basic room, but the more expensive superior room. When we mentioned it to staff they seemed to be aware of the issue and just thanked us for bringing it to their attention. They didn’t offer any help or compensation, it was late and we were tired so we didn’t want to make a big thing about it, but did expect more then this, at least some effort to make it right.

We stayed for 3 nights. I got a decent room with a very good view, but I had problems with the bathroom's cleanliness on day 1 (the room was clean, bathroom had issues). Have to say the reception staff looked as helpless as me, since the cleaning staff had apparently clocked out, and they were all booked out. That was awkward, and unpleasant. That said, it was resolved the next day, and my other two days at this place was good. So.. still rating them 3 stars. The food served at their restaurant is tasty. The hotel is also located very close to heroes square, and have easy access to public transport. I might not rebook again, based on my opening day experience. But that is statistically one-off case, and I had no complaints on day 2 and 3.

We loved the hotel. First of all, staff is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Rooms are quite large, with bright windows, working desk and TV. minibar available. Linens / towels were good. Bathroom clean. It might look a bit old-fashioned, but well - I liked it. Breakfast was above expectations. Also the restaurant which work till 10 pm. We could store luggage at departure / arrival dates. Overall, it has a great value for a money. I would come back again

The bearded bald receptionist in the front desk, was extremely rude to me. So rude that I bursted in tears. I just had come from the airport after 7h flight, and headed to the hotel to attend a conference there. I was trying to explain him that my organisation had booked the room and they would pay for it. He didn't want to know anything about it.. he didn't want to check the documents I was showing to him. He was just saying: this doesn't proof anything to me.. you need to pay now in cash or credit card. I never saw someone so rude as this guy.. He might be the son or nephew of the owner of the hotel because is impossible someone treating people like this in a hotel and not getting fired! Besides this horrible experience (I hope you really don't meet this guy) the hotel is in a nice location and all the other staff are very kind

Very nice room and an amazing selection at the breakfast. It does not look so great from outside, but inside of the hotel is very nice. The staff were also kind and friendly people.

This hotel was the best choice for our visit to Budapest. The room was spacious and clean. We stayed there for 5 days. Price ratio and breakfast included, was surely considered money well spent. Truly recommended 👌

  • 5/5 Hannah G. 4 months ago on Google
5 stars because it met my expectations considering the low price. However, the shower head holder was broken, the furniture was a bit dated, and the rooms aren't well insulated so you hear everyone walking past the room and overhead. If you're a light sleeper I recommend asking for a room on the top floor.

  • 2/5 Horvath Z. 4 months ago on Google
The bald receptionist is really rude and he just don’t care about anything. The hotel is nice. But the room is small and dirty. The room is cold. I try to take a shower but the water is coming back (below the video) But still the biggest problem is the staff. Half of them is nice but the other half is rude. * I understand the hotel staff is unqualified they work 12 hours shift for 300£ a month they have just only one more option to go work in the McDonald’s.

The receptionist was extremely unfriendly and in general the staff was very unfriendly(I think all the hungarians are like this). The room was old but cleaned(the door was opened with a key not a card), the toilet was very old and I hated it.The breakfast for the room price was good. I liked the location of the hotel.

We were there in December. Heating worked during the day, and over night radiators were cold, so it was cold in our room. There wasn't hot water in our room from 10 pm till morning, during our whole stay, so we could not shower at night. Rooms are clean, our bathroom was new. Breakfast was good. I would recommend this hotel only because of it's location which is great!

  • 1/5 Andrew S. 3 months ago on Google New
The service is atrocious. I'm not sure if Hungarian hospitality is very poor in general or this hotel particularly hires and trains their receptionists to be rude and unfriendly to the guests. When I asked for new towels since the room hadn't been cleaned while I was out, I was informed that normally 3-star hotels only change towels once every three days. Really? Even the 2-star hotel I stayed in Porto, Portugal cleaned our room everyday and gave us fresh towels daily. And their service was much nicer. Even backpackers in other countries have nicer service. The rooms are small, and not maintained/ cleaned every day. On the other hand, the breakfast is not bad. Wide range of food and the taste is okay. The waiters and waitresses aren't so nice, just like the receptionist. The location is quite nice, however, and deserves 5 stars. The hotel is right between two metro stations and close to the bus stop as well. Even better, it is close to a tourist attraction (Heroes' Square) and Szechenyi Thermal Pools. Overall, if you care about basic respect and friendly, welcoming hospitality, do not stay at this hotel. Your money will be better spent elsewhere.

Great location, food (breakfast was included) is nice, rooms are decent, I didn't have too much contact with the staff, but it seems they are doing their job. Rooms are clean and relatively spacious. Bathroom as well.

Quality of rooms is like in motel at best. i don't care about old looking stuff, but mattresses were one of the worst i've slept on. Walls are made from cardboard and you can hear every Word, step or breath from people in room next to you. Hotel staff on the other hand were very nice and helpful to us and the breakfast is pretty good in here.

  • 5/5 Carolina G. 1 year ago on Google
Well located, the hotel is clean, staff is very friendly and open to help. The room is not very modern (I realized that some rooms were renovated but not ours) but it's fine. Breakfast is superb and worth every penny.

We arrived too soon in the morning, the check-in was only from 14:00. After we checked in, all was good. The facilities are at 4 star level, even though the hotel is only 3. It was important for us that the hotel has private parking, even if it costs extra. Overall we had a good time.

  • 4/5 Rusty J. 2 years ago on Google
I've only just checked in a few hours ago but must admit ,this is a very nice place. The rooms are bright and comfortable. The bed seems comfortable, though I've not tried to sleep on it yet. The staff is friendly and courteous, and my room has a mini-bar! I am already planning to stay here the next time I'm in Budapest.

In a non smoking hotel we got a room that smelled fully like smoke and a fridge that did not work. I went sown and kindly asked to have the room changed. They at first did not want to, but reluctantly agreed to change it only if the room was untouched. After changing the room I was great with some sarcasm from the receptionist, which I did not find amusing. The second day after breakfast, I went into the bathroom, and could not use a single toilet, as each one was dirty. I know that it is a three star hotel and you can not expect that much, but hygiene is utterly important at any hotel

Excellent price-quality service ratio. Friendly staff, good and clean room, good restaurant. Location is perfect in classy and quiet neighborhood, near the upper end of Andrassy street and Hősök tere (Heroes' square). Metro is minutes away and rest of the beautiful Budapest at hand.

The receptionist was very unpolite. We had a problem with our booking, and he discussed with us in a very rude and disrespectful way, then without saying a word about our booking, he started to serve other guests. When we noticed that our booking had not passed, we were thankful to God that we could leave this place. I never had such a poor experience in my entire life. I strongly NOT recommend this place.

Lovely clean hotel on outskirts of main town in quiet area but very near travel stops and also a very short walk to city park. Bedroom we had unfortunately didn't have a window actually in bedroom but there was one in living area. The breakfast was fantastic with excellent choice for vegetarians as well. There is a small bar that sells local beers on tap and in bottles. I can definitely recommend the dark beer. There is also a small restaurant and you can tell how good it was because we ate there for three nights out of four. Staff very professional and accommodating. Will definitely go back.

We talked to three different people at reception during our stay. One of these 3 was lazy and did not show any willpower to provide either help or info. The breakfast is good and abundand. The rooms are clean and cozy, however, there are no shutters or even dark curtains to block sunlight.

Friendly and helpful staff, and good location is all this hotel can get a good review for. Otherwise, it's a quite a 'retro' ambience, with interior from the '90s. Keep in mind that this is a pet friendly hotel, meaning you can wake up in the middle of the night because of having dog barking in the room next to you.

Nice hotel staff with ok English. Rooms were clean, but started to show it’s age. Ok breakfast with a good selection. The hotel offers dining and has a bar. The hotel is located in a very quiet and deserted street with about a 5-10 min walk to any restaurant or bus stop.

  • 3/5 Mateusz 2 years ago on Google
Great location and prices. English speaking staff. I don't have much comparison to other three star hotels in Hungary but comparing to U.S, UK, France, Germany three star hotels the standard was noticeably worse. Pretty much zero entertainment options in the room, 30 years old TV, no mini bar, pretty archaic bathroom, no shower gels etc.

Beds aren‘t very big and aren‘t very comfy… The heating seems to run on full power everywhere in the building at all times, which is quite weird. Generally the building isn‘t in best shape! All in all the rooms were clean, so at the end of the day the friendly staff do what they can with circumstances given…

Really nice old fashioned hotel. City park and city center are both accessible by foot. Service is great. Food - noot amazing, but decent.

  • 3/5 Dunja D. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms were clean and neat, but the furniture is old, like from the 50s or something. Breakfast is very basic - salami, cheese, eggs and similar. There is an option for vegans, but also basic. When you want to get coffee, there are not enough cups so if you go to get coffee you have to look for staff to replace the cups. Also, one morning it happened that coffee machine ran out of water, and nobody of the staff was there, so we had to ran around to find them and tell them. Maybe they are understaffed or something. When you are in the room, you could hear people in the other rooms opening and closing their wardrobe, so loudly that you would think it is happening in your room. It is close to Heroes Square and metro station, so you can get to city center very fast by metro. We have had some problems in the room (like light in the hallway did not work when we checked in) but they were solved in no time, when we reported them to the receptionist. One suggestion: you could put kettle in the room, and some tea/coffee. Nevertheless, I think it is very good value for money.

Depressing, old room. Uncomfy beds. Staff working while sick - high risk for contracting covid here. One of the reception staff is very rude (like many other people here had already said). No sound insulation between rooms. Waiters are friendly and the bacon at the breakfast was fantastic.

  • 5/5 Brett K. 2 years ago on Google
What a phenomenal, good value hotel! Very classy environment, and the room is very spacious (small bed) with well-functioning A/C and quiet outside. Best of all is the staff, they are traditional hungarian style and it feels like a good authentic experience with them.

An extremely good hotel for the price paid. Excellent location 5 minutes from Heroja Square and metro station. The rooms are large and well equipped, as is the bathroom. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast buffet is fantastic. The hotel has its own secured parking, which is paid for separately. All recommendations!

I booked from Agoda, taxes and everything included but they asked 2 Euro tourist tax and I had to pay. Please refund my money! They refused to give manager phone. Also pillow cases have hair and towels have stains and no hot water. Receptionists didn't do anything about problems and the dirt, instead acted unpolitely and angrily. Not a place to spend holiday.
