THERE ARE THIEVES IN THE HOTEL. WATCH OUT YOUR BELONGINGS WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR LUGGUAGE TO "FEMALE STAFFS" I stayed here for 2days (9/9-9/11). There were 2 female staffs when I checked out. I asked the female staff who helped me check out at 10 a.m. today to leave two suitcases. She readily said yes, and I left my suitcase with her and came back to the hotel at 13:00 to find it. After that, I immediately took a taxi to the airport, and as soon as I arrived at the airport, I checked the contents of the carrier, but I found that about 1,000 euros were missing from one of the carriers I left. There wasn't any touch on the carrier until I arrived at the airport after leaving my carrier. Except for them. Before I left the room just before I checked out, I divided the cash into three places inside the carrier (paper bags, wallets, and GoPro cases) but there were thefts in exactly three places above. When I first left my luggage with them, I remember clearly that they took our luggage inside the office, not next to the counter, like other customers' luggage. At first, I thought it was weird, but I still believed it would be okay because I was an employee of a global hotel brand called "Nobotel," but this was my big mistake. As a person who likes Novotel and Novotel Suite in Korea, I also decided to trust Novotel on this trip, and I was very disappointed that the staff training and management of global brands are so poor. I will never stand by this atrocity and strongly protest against Novotel's headquarters. The women who commit crimes against tourists will do everything they can to ensure that they face clear punishment

Almost everything was great, the room was clean and nice. Location wasn’t the best however the view of the Budapest parliament is definitely worth to mention. The reception staff was amazing, friendly, helpful and supportive, however didn’t have the best experience with the restaurant staff. Waiters were a bit rude but not a big deal.

Very nice view of the palace of parliament. The hotel is a little bit too old and the rooms are not so modern. Services are good. Breakfast was very rich and tasty.

This is a great place . We have been to this place in September 2022 and stayed for a night and later regretted why we stayed only one night . We had booked executive double room with river view and it is the one of the best hotel we have been. The view of Hungary parliament is just awesome from the room. The hotel is pretty close to the bus and tram stop. The staffs are very nice. We had purchased sudden frozen food from the supermarket and requested chef to heat it and they were delighted to do so. If I ever come back to budapest which I liked very much I will definitely stay again to this hotel

Good hotel choice with moderate cost. Safe and clean, especially if you are traveling with family. The best part is the beautiful view of the Budapest Parliament building at night. Just walk across the road to have this spectacular view. Of course, you may request for rooms with such view as well (based on availability).

Absolute worst! Hotel is stuck in the 70s, needs serious updates/upgrades. Untrained and unfriendly staff, hotel doesn't deserve the price they charge, room do not have AC, hotel only has 1 iron for all guests. Don't waste your money.

Absolutely one of the best hotels in the world. Rooms are spotless, bathroom is so clean that I did not find any hair. We were in room 439. The view from hotel restaurant is one of the nicest in Europe(and I come from the most beautiful country in the world-Croatia) so you should consider at least spending one night in hotel. Breakfast was fabulous even for my demanding husband who was satisfied with everything. Staff at hotel bar is very kind and helpuful, as well as the staff at the reception. We are coming again in spring or summer.

We’d read a few negative reviews about here but as we’d never had a bad stay at any Novotel, we gave it a shot. We were allowed to check in early into our river-view room (fantastic view) and all seemed well. However, after a bad night’s sleep due to the noise of the trams outside and no hot water in the shower, we complained to the front desk. This was dealt with very sympathetically and we were given a upgraded, larger room two floors higher; the shower had hot water and the room seemed more soundproofed. It’s a slightly older hotel and although aesthetically pleasing, some things do need upgrading and in the modern age, more electrical sockets are a must. The bad reviews about room aircon are justified. In both rooms we had, I had to turn the thermostat down to 10°c (50°f) just to get it slightly cooler and this was in February. We also seemed to be offered a better deal for breakfast on check-in than we got in the final bill but as we checked out at 0420, I let it go. That said, breakfast was good. Overall, I’d say the hotel itself is a 3* but I’d give most of the very pleasant staff and customer services 4*.

Overall the stay was fine, the room was with lots of space, we got 2 bathrooms and separate toilet that is very nice. The breakfast was pretty basic, with nothing new for a whole week of stay, I planned to work out in the fitness room but I found out that 1 out of 3 applicants was out of order, and there is no workout sofa to sit or lay on to use the dumbbells, and like, you have a whole floor for that with special fitness button on the elevator, are you kidding me? Why not encourage the guests to do some workout by making sure the fitness room will look like in the picture? Because it's not even close. Besides that we got a small elephant doll from the staff and it was very kind

Since the name is Novotel, my expectations were on the higher side. But I am bit disappointed with them. The room was specious but very basic amenities were available. The room had limited charging points, no iron; the TV channels were mostly in local language, only a couple in English. The curtain rails were damaged, so the curtains couldn’t travel all the way and failed to blackout the room in the early morning. The cleaning failed to impress me as well. After arrival I noticed that the washroom and separate toilet floors already had hairs from previous borders. Nevertheless, breakfast was quite good, not luxurious though. Hotel staff were cordial and helpful. The location is very good and only a couple of minutes walk from the metro station.

We were invited to a Hungarian wedding and stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. I really liked my experience here. The location is great. In the city center close to almost everything. specially at the hotel restaurant you have the amazing view of the famous Parliament building right across the river. The rooms were clean and cozy with a free tea and coffee service and a bottle of water to welcome you. The bathroom had a tub and shower box separately which I really appreciated. they were hot days so the air conditioner in the room was quite pleasant. Breakfast was great. We had almost everything available. from bacon and eggs to different kinds of beans, sausages, bread, yogurt, jam, fruit salads, cereal, hot and cold drinks, etc. we had one meal at the restaurant too and it was really good. Generous portions and pleasant taste. the good thing was that unlike many other hotels the kitchen was open until 22:30 which was really useful . The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only thing we didn’t actually like and were almost surprised about it was that room service opened our door at 8:30 in the morning to clean! we were absolutely exhausted and hearing someone opening the door woke us up and unfortunately we couldn’t sleep again. Then we put the “Please don’t disturb” sign at the door and the same thing happened around one hour later!! It sounded unprofessional to me.

We are Accor member and we managed to book an executive room in Novotel Budapest at very attractive price. Our room is directly facing the House of Parliament. We also received welcome drink which you can choose from coffee, tea, soft drinks, wine to champagne. We love the service and hospitality 💕

Clean rooms. Got the executive with parliament view. Comes with a queen bed i think and a sofa bed. The windows are higher, it restricts the view when you're on the bed. Parking is 15euro plua tax but there is lots of street parking which is free on Sundays(wish i had known). And free after 10pm i believe. Breakfast was great.

Great location, very nice staff, easy parking as long as it's not full. The beds are so comfy and they had full bottles of shampoo, soap and CONDITIONER in the shower! I very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Location on buda side of Danube river directly opposite Parliament building , convenient to all tourist locations with 1-2klm walk or tram our front , train 500m , restaurant advertised with view to parliament building but lots of bus tours everyday obstructing view , great views from our room 5th floor

The least friendly Reception staff I have ever met. I expect much more from this category of hotel. They don't respect your status in the ALL program. What is more they will not take their own initiative if they cannot fulfill your request. An easy and simple request! Additionally, the shower was very impractical. Broken flush in the toilet. Disaster at every turn. People from the afternoon shift in the restaurant were a plus, thanks to them I did not give one star. I will come back to Budapest, but I will choose a different hotel without any doubt.

Located directly opposite Parliament building on Budapest side of river Danubewith amazing view from our room on 5th floor . Room was lovely with all that is needed . Everything is 1-2 klm walk away with tram out front and local train 500m if needed . Breakfast on ground floor was advertised with great view of parliament building but the buses for all of the many tours that stay park right in front of restaurant so not a view at all ? Staff were most helpful.

The only thing they have going for them is the riverfront location with the stunning view of the parliament. Pros: Location, onsite paid parking and the view!! Cons: Outdated, smelly and dirty rooms. Small bathrooms that gets flooded once you take a shower. Water even gets out into the room's dirty carpet. I blame the management of this Novotel since we've had better experiences in other Accor properties. We complained but they didn't do anything. Consumers deserve better for the amount of money we pay. Hotel isn't doing us any favors. AC doesn't work well. The hotel should be renovated and run under new management. Learn from Hilton and Marriott guys!!

Spectacular view, right across the river from the parliament building. Good access to public transportation. A bit disappointing about rooms and equipment, everything is quite old and needs to be repaired. Water does not drain normally in the sink and in the bath. Sheets had holes.

We spent 3 days in the Danube Novotel hotel. The rooms are very nice and tidy. You also get a coffee or tea maker and several coffees and teas on the side. You have everything you need in the room. The restaurant is beautiful, it has a direct view of the parliament. The breakfast is rich and really has something for everyone. I'll leave some photos from breakfast. The girls who work at the breakfast are hardworking, all praises. Parking is paid additionally at the hotel. We left our car in the public parking lot right next to the hotel because public parking is free on weekends. If you walk to the center, it will take you half an hour, but it is really wonderful to walk through this city. On the day of departure, we requested a late check-out and the girls at the reception allowed us to do so without any problems. Thank you for that, it meant a lot to us. We will definitely come again. All recommendations.

I recently stayed at Hotel Novotel Danube in Budapest for four days during the Formula 1 weekend, from Wednesday, July 19, to Sunday, July 23, 2023. While my experience had some positive aspects, there were also a few drawbacks that affected my overall satisfaction. The location of the hotel is nice, offering a pleasant view of the parliament building, and the rooms were cleaned and reasonably comfortable. Additionally, the breakfast provided a good variety of choices, which was a nice way to start the day. However, there were some disappointing aspects that impacted my stay. Firstly, despite booking a Superior Double Room on Booking, we were given a smaller room upon arrival, without any prior notice or explanation. It was frustrating to not receive the room we had reserved, especially considering that the price remained unchanged. Moreover, there was an issue with being charged the City Tax twice, which the hotel later acknowledged as their mistake. Such administrative errors can be inconvenient and should have been avoided. Lastly, the staff's friendliness left something to be desired. While they were not rude, their level of warmth and hospitality didn't quite meet my expectations. In summary, Hotel Novotel Danube offered a pleasant stay with its great location, cleanliness, and breakfast choices. However, the discrepancies in the room reservation and the double charge for City Tax, along with the staff's lack of exceptional friendliness, hindered my overall satisfaction. It was a nice experience, but there is certainly room for improvement.

The rooms aren't anything special. There are two separate bathrooms, one with just a toilet (not even a sink), and the other with a sink, bath, and shower. As for the service, you get free breakfast until 8 on weekdays and until 11 on weekends. But the location is AMAZING! Not only is it along the Danube River, but it is across from the Hungarian Parliament! If you get the right room, the view is awesome! Even if you don't, every day when you leave to do something, you see this amazing view. It is also right near a lot of tram stations and a train station, making it quite easy to get to and from here.

Great location, Very good breakfast with lot of vegetarian options. On the Danube banks just across the Hungarian Parliament. Strangely toilet and bath are in separate cabins Extremely poor housekeeping had to get the toilet cleaned as we noticed human excerta on the toilet seat and had to take up with reception twice.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. I will stay here every time in my next visits. The location of the hotel is great, right opposite the parliament building, by the river. Sharing 2 photos from my room. Hotel and rooms are very clean and comfortable. The employees are friendly and helpful, especially many thanks to Rebecca who works at the reception. Breakfast is good, more than enough.

We used the restaurant to get the view of the Hungarian Parliament. The service was Impeccable. Truly professional, courteous, kind and delivering service with a smile. Well done to the 2 gentleman serving our dinner on Monday 11th December 2023. Two True Fine Gentlemen. Well done 👍✅

Good location, rooms clean, food and personnel very good. Price is convenient, also an advantage is the hotel has it's own parking. We left the car 3 days there and used the public transport.

This is the strangest bathroom i ever seen. The toilet and the sink are not in the same room if you can imagine. The rooms are very small definitely not big enough to be rated as 4 star. The parking costs 15 euros everyday which is a fair price i guess but the only security guaranteed are some security cameras , no fence , no bodyguard. If you try to book a room in the holiday season the are very high chances to get a room without a view to the river. Not 4 star at all.

They gave us wrong room. We booked for superior and for one night we had to stay in very small room and next day after a long discussion they gave us the right room which we booked. Staff was very rude. Sofa bed for children is not at all comfortable.

Efficient and friendly check-in, good sized room and everything nice and clean. Also a lovely large comfortable bed. Fantastic view of the Hungarian Parliament opposite our room. The only thing that I don't like, is the room has both a separate bathroom and WC, unfortunately the WC doesn't have a sink in it, therefore you have to come out and go into the bathroom in order to wash your hands. Why they have designed the rooms like this I don't know, but I wish they would change it. Other than the above, it is a nice hotel in a good location

  • 5/5 Radu C. 2 years ago on Google
Nice and functional hotel right in the center of Budapest. The hotel is on the opposite side of the Hungarian Parliament building and at walking distance from the subway station. The room was spacious and clean and it had a partial view to the Danube. The bathroom was modern but the toilet was in a separate room, something that you might or might not like. The hotel has an outdoor parking lot, which costs an additional 15 EUR per day.

Located at the calmer side of the city and Beautiful and safe location to walk around and take pictures, I think no other hotel has this kind of view to the parliament. I would recommend this hotel if you're an outdoor person, since all the scenic spots are nearby and easily accessible by walk and public transport. Helpful and friendly staff, good food, clean rooms, great overall experience!

An excellent choice for a comfortable stay in Budapest! Wonderfully decorated spaces , cosy rooms , willing and super kind service as well! There is plenty of delicious meal but my favourite one was the lunch ! Highly recommended!!!

Nice hotel with fantastic view to the Danube and Parliament. The hotel a little bit outdated and I would suggest to renovation it, but in principle it is OK. There is a restaurant where you can have a lunch or dinner, although the selection is limited. Parking is just next to the hotel. There is also a very very small fitness center and sauna.

We arrived Novotel Budapest Danube late at night and there was some issues with the system to check in, so they couldn't find out booking. But the staff was very polite and gave us an excellent room. The problem was sorted out in the morning and the price got even cheaper than expected. Clean and nice rooms. Breakfast is 5 of 5. Service is top. Highly recommended 👍🏼

I will start by saying that the rooms were clean but are definitely not the star for this place. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the waiters we had were polite and helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent, you might get rooms with a view towards the Danube and the parliament building which are superb. All in all we've had a great stay and we will go there again in the future. I definitely recommend the restaurant even if you are just passing by.

Nice and clean, room was very spacious with a lovely view of the flats opposite lol Bar was pricey but to be expected. Breakfast was fine except the bacon was all stuck together and burnt and sausages were mini hot dogs, apart from that there was plenty of fruit, cereal, breads and savouries, enjoyed it over all

  • 2/5 Martin K. 1 year ago on Google
Definitely not a four star hotel. Maybe the prices are four star but the feeling of this place is two to three star maximum. The devil is in many details. You cannot open the windows for fresh air there. They aren't environmental friendly, have no plants and greenery. The water in the minibar has a price label of four euro on it. That's megalomania.

  • 3/5 Mikkel W. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel is a bid tired without being run down. Nice location on the river side with a great view to the parlament. Metro fairly close by. Breakfast has a decent selection, but most of the products are of low quality. Service was nice and friendly at the hotel

  • 4/5 Gábor M. 2 years ago on Google
Cons: Reusable slippers would have come handy in the room, also the sink is a bit too designer for my taste, makes it difficult to keep it clean after brushing teeth for example. The water in the minibar is very overpriced. Pros: Great room service, clean hotel, with friendly staff
