A
lovely
break
in
an
idyllic
location,
a
great
way
to
escape
UK
Coronation
(we
are
amongst
the
25%
of
the
electorate
in
favour
of
abolition
of
Monarchy!)
Spacious
top-range
Room
was
on
3rd
floor
with
view
over
the
iconic
Danube.

of

Maybe
signal

could
be
made
available
on
request?
If
you
are

Room
Service,
opt
for
the
adjacent
sister
Thermal
Hotel.
We
were
very
happy
to
be
in
the
more
historic
and
we
feel
more
classical
Grand,
which
is
celebrating
its
150th
Birthday
this
year!
We

Staff
cannot
be
faulted.
Friendly
and
helpful,
with
Reception
staff
all
English
speaking.
We
were
on
Half
Board.
Evening
meals
taken
in
adjacent
modern
sister
hotel,
linked
by
underground
walkway.
Food
was
all
self
service
buffet
style,
with
good
range
to
cater
for
all,
heathy
and
less-healthy
choices!
Pleasant
reception
and
waiting
staff,
again
English
speaking
Drinks
and
wine
prices
were
good
-
£4
for
a
glass
of
good
quality
Furmint
wine
(same
brand
as
Waitrose!),
or
£20
for
the
bottle.
Amazing
pianist
and
violinist
in
Thermal
Hotel
Bar,
but
sadly
only
Thursday
to
Saturday.
Bath
and
pool
facilities
were
excellent,
all
included
in
Room
price.
Earlier
in
day
seems
quiter,
but
never
that
crowded
during
our
stay
Just
1
thing.
Outdoor
Pool
was
not
very
clearly
signed,
and
we
only
discovered
it
on
the
last
day!
Look
for
the
sign
near
the
pool
bar
that
says
SUN
TERRACE!
Vast
range
of
Treatments
on
offer.
My
wife
had
5
or
6
over
the
8
day
stay.
All
excellent,
really
lovely
staff,
experienced,
skilled,
English-speaking,
but
prices
more
or
less
same
as
UK,
only
with
nicer
facilities
and
wider
range
of
choice.
Overall
cost
of
stay
with
all
the
extras
was
just
under
2000
Euros.
But
just
be
aware
Airport
taxi
is
60
Euros
each
way.
To
those
unfamiliar,
Margaret
Island,
on
which
the
hotel
is
located,
is
basically
a
magnificent
recreational
City-run
mid-river
oasis
of
green.
A
wonderful
mix
of
trees,
open
parkland
and
beautiful
gardens.
Absolutely
stunning.
The
5km
running
track
around
the
island
is
used
by
around
4000
locals
every
day.
Island
is
almost
car
free,
with
exceptions
for
hotel
guests,
taxis
etc.
It
is
a
vibrant
living
lung
for
what
is
a
truly
wonderful,
beautiful
city.
The
Paris
of
central
Europe?
No.
FAR
nicer,
far
greener,
far
less
polluted,
and
drastically
more
affordable!
The
city
centre,
St
Stephen's
Basilica
etc
is
a
scenic
1
hours
walk,
or
15
minutes
by
taxi
(£12
each
way),
or
take
the
tram
for
a
fraction
of
cost!
Thank
you
Hungary.
This
was
our
4th
trip
(our
first
stay
on
the
Island).
We
shall
be
back!
