Great location, looking over the river and city. Next to the lookout and park. The spa is really fun and a good way to spend half a day. Good service and lots to choose from at Breakfast. They let us check into our room early and gave us an upgrade to a really big room. We will stay here next time we're in Budapest.

This hundred year old Hotel is perfectly located to explore Budapest! The rooms are nice and comfortable. Ask for a River View room, the view is wonderful. Three of those have a large balcony, which is perfect for an evening drink and cigar. :) Note: As is common in traditional European hotels, these rooms are NOT air conditioned. They have copious windows and a fan. The river-view rooms get a lot of sun. While the shady side rooms, and the common areas were quite cool, even in July, The 2 days when the temp got up around 30c, it was a bit warm. The rest of the time it was fine. The world-famous Gellért Baths are located in the facility. The famous Hungarian "Statue of Freedom" and Freedom Bridge are literally across the street. Most of the must-see sights are within walking distance, or use the electric scooters that are always nearby (I prefer "Lime", as they are most prevalent.). Local Bus and Metro stops are also right next to the hotel, as well.

Very nice hotel! Wonderful architecture. Comfortable placement. The best staff! We stayed at the hotel at the end of July. There were air conditioners in our room and the room of our friends. Big rooms. Comfortable beds. Lovely view! The hotel has a special spirit! Want to say "Thank you" to the receptionists, who helped us in any questions!

On the outside looks amazing but the inside is looking rather bad. In the rooms there is no air conditioning, no soaps. The corridors look like you’re in a horror movie in a hospital, white shiny doors all along. It does have a great location and used to be such an important place in Budapest but unfortunately now the comfort here is significantly lower than it is expected from a hotel of such past fame.

This hotel is way past its prime and the entire operation is tired. Despite the presence of some ‘old world charm’, the rooms are two star at best, the restaurant serves frozen meat warmed up for the dishes, the bathrooms are badly maintained closets with rotting wood & peeling paint, and the overall impression is one of disappointment. Hotel guests can avail the nearby baths for 10% less than visitors from the street but - in what must be an international first - hotel guests must pay €3 for disposable slippers, not to mention going down to reception barefoot to buy them! Honestly, I want to love this hotel but the decor, amenities and food are so far below 4 star that I feel ripped off.

Hotel feels a bit tired and run down. The room wasn’t completely clean and was fairly basic. Access to the spa is good and you can take the towels and robes from the room and the buffet breakfast was decent. The location of the hotel is also really good with trams and buses directly outside to take you into the centre.

The view is great. Staff is helpful and nice. The breakfast is very good, some workers need to learn how to deal with people from different backgrounds. However, one of the rooms had a lot of insects and the solution is giving us spray to do it ourselves! Finally, they changed the room after we insisted. I hope they will pay more attention to cleaning.

Lovely building. A bit surly staff at reception but still a great experience. Reasonably priced and well located for touring.

Great Historic Hotel. Great location to river and castle hill. Having the Gellert Spa next door is a real bonus. We'd stay here again for sure. Good value for money. We stayed here one night before our Viking Romantic Danube Cruise started in Budapest in August of 2021.

Decent hotel. They should use dispensers with soap and shampoo instead of plastic bottles. The bed had a hard matress, which I love. Would come back.

Used to be very good, the classic hotel. BEWARE: Unfortunately not anymore. Spa used to be included, not now. In short: Now too expensive, breakfast not included, room standard not up to date. Sad to say. There are so many better alternatives in the city. STILL one of the best vibes of old Central Europe, if you don´t stay here overnight.

A grand hotel but in need of a refresh. The staff are excellent especially the concierge and bar / restaurant staff. It would have been nice to have a couple of bottles of water in to be fridge and after 3 nights I had to ask for clean towels but other than that, a pleasant stay. July 2021

The rooms are far from clean, noisy and the overall feeling is that nobody is taking care of the hotel. As i traveled for business I didn't had time to try out some of the things they offer but from the first impression I am not sure I even want to. Just avoid it as there are real 4 star hotels near the center with similar prices...

Came here for lunch. Disappointed to say the least. They served me a glass of wine with a fruit fly in it. Must have been an old bottle they had opened before. The goulash soup said it had homemade noodles. There were maybe 3, the size of a pinhead. Seriously, the server had to really stretch to find any in my soup. It’s no wonder this Hotel is gliding Dec 1. Don’t bother.

The private spa experience (around €45 for 2 people) is absolutely worth the money: you get 1.5h in a huge room with a small bathtub, a sauna, a shower and a toilet, and even a bottle of champagne to sip with your partner. I’d choose it again!
