Bed was hard. No coffee pods in the rooms. Towels were ripped. Shower didn’t drain well in about 7 minutes it would be close to over flowing. All of this could have been overlooked if the air conditioner had been working. It was extremely hot in the room to the point my 70 year old father spent part of the night sleeping on the floor. It was around 11:30 pm when we checked in so we thought that the air conditioning would just take a while to cool the room down and being tired we decided to just try and sleep. The next morning it was just as hot in the room upon waking. We immediately informed the front desk prior to breakfast. We were out all day returning at 9:30 pm. We started the air conditioning up went down to have a drink at the bar. Got back into the room a bit after 10 still blazing hot. Talked to the front desk obviously there was nothing the very curious man working the overnight shift could do to fix the AC at that time. We ended up moving to a different hotel as we were initially informed they were fully booked. Then only refunded one night.

Great location and value for money overall. The staff is super friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. The rooms are nice and tidy with very comfortable beds. The breakfast buffet is very good for a quick bite before you go off on some adventures. The location is vary nice, just a few minutes from the center and places for sightseeing or transport if you plan on going outside the center.

Hotel Memories Budapest disappointed me a lot. It definitely doesn't match the four stars rating. There is an unpleasant smell in the corridors and the rooms are very small. I even found hair on my bed. Fitness center with old equipment is also tiny. The positive thing was breakfast, there was a large selection and it tasted good.

The hotel is basically in the inner city but without all of the car noise. You can practically walk to any place of your choosing. The rooms are rather small, the beds are kind of hard, and (as many have said it) there is only body soap available. However, the hotel and rooms were very clean, breakfast was okay, and the lounge that allows you to take snacks and drinks throughout the day is a bonus. The staff was also very polite and fulfilled our requests.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Memories in Budapest city center, and it was a delightful experience. My sister and I booked a deluxe double/twin room on a half board basis, and overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. Upon arrival, our room was initially set up as a double bed, assuming we were a married couple due to having the same surname. However, when we informed the staff of our preference for separate beds, they quickly accommodated our request while we were out exploring the city. The twin room is just two beds pushed together with one sheet but two duvets, which worked perfectly fine for us for only 3 nights. We had a few hours to spare before our check in time but the hotel has a secure luggage room available at the reception which was extremely convenient as it allowed us to go and explore the city without having to carry around all of our heavy luggage. The hotel is also well situated for public transportation and walking so it’s a perfect base to explore Budapest. The room itself was clean, modern, and spacious, offering a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The same level of cleanliness and modernity extended to all the communal areas, creating a pleasant ambiance throughout the hotel. The basement lounge and breakfast area were particularly stunning, providing a charming space to start the day or unwind in the evening. While the breakfast selection wasn't entirely to my personal preference, I understand that different cultures have different culinary traditions. As a British traveler, I would maybe have liked items such as some sausages, bacon, or fresh fruit. However, the pastries selection was delightful and is kept full throughout the day. The availability of hot drinks and juice machines was also a huge plus, allowing us to help ourselves to a nice drink and a little snack when we returned from a day of exploring. Overall, my experience at Hotel Memories was extremely positive and I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable, cheap and centrally located accommodation option in Budapest.

I wish I can give then 0 stars, worst customer service, there is never a Manager available, they took my money, they denied a refund even when I called they never had an idea what to say and there was no one to explain the situation. They just roll the ball until you get tired so they don't give you back the money, even Expedia said was a nightmare to deal with them when refunds are needed. They never gave me the refund and good luck calling for it. What a scam. Avoid it!! There are other places worth your money than this. Save yourself the trouble.

Great Hotel next to amazing synagogue. Rooms are clean, with very nice decor. Lounge room is amazing and the benefits of staying in this hotel are great. When we arrived to the hotel early, around 11ish, staff already prepared room for us, which saved us a lot of time. Sweet pastry, soft drinks and some desserts were available for free whole day, which was really nice gesture from the hotel. The only downside was not enough sound proofing in the rooms, which is a problem when right underneath the hotel resides a restaurant/bar which is open till 11. Plus, a kettle would be nicer to have in the room instead of coffee machine.

Reasonable price. Near synagogue and ruins bars, about 20 mins walk from river. Room was smallish but clean and functional. Breakfast fine, breads, salads, egg, cheese and cold meat slices. Not top notch but more than enough and pastries were fresh. Best thing, which we have not found elsewhere, coffee machine/ tea free and available 24 hrs along with some pastries, for a quick recharge in day.

During my recent visit to this hotel, I found it to be a satisfactory choice for short stays, particularly if you're seeking a budget-friendly option. While it served its purpose well for my brief stay, I would hesitate to recommend it for longer durations or if you plan to spend a significant amount of time in your room.

Nice place, center of the city. Rooms are ok. Breakfast is good and tasty. Receptionists are very pleasant and helpful. We had only issue with bar, it closed sharp at 10.00 pm, and barman did not take orders at 9.50 already. And bedsheets and towels had some stains.

The location is great for a city trip and has lots of restaurants and bars near. The rooms are clean and the service was good. Unfortunately, our room did not smell good - we think, that somebody might have smoked in there previously. All in all: we can reccomend this place, good quality for this price.

Amazing hotel. In a perfect location and within walking distance to everything. The rooms are well equipped and we had a lovely view of the synagogue from our window. We had an issue on our stay where our flush broke on the toilet but this was immediately fixed. I can't fault this hotel at all. Made our stay in Budapest stress free. Thankyou

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was really wonderful. The location of the hotel is excellent. There is a bus, subway and tram stop a short walk from the hotel. There are many restaurants, fast food around the hotel. The hotel offers great breakfast. Absolutely amazing was the club lounge. From 11 AM until late time there were drinks, sweets and sandwiches available. Gorgeous and clean rooms. Smiling staff. The only thing, is the downside that the hotel does not have its own parking. We solved parking a short walk from the hotel for free. If we go to Budapest again, we will definitely go to this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are a little tight but clean and has everything you could need including slippers. Room was cleaned very well every day with fresh towels. Breakfast selection was lovely and the little snacks during the day are such a thoughtful touch. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful and we had a very pleasant stay. Location is also great, scooters available to hire right outside!

A good hotel for the price and a good central location. The breakfast options were small and not great, but the rooms were comfortable and a/c worked well. The staff were very friendly and happy to help. Also had free snacks available 24/7 so that was good too!

A great hotel in Budapest well located. The service was great and very helpful. They manage to book us a taxi for the airport very early and has a thoughtful attention in our room. We had a great stay in this hotel. Would definitely recommend.

The stay was quite alright. Not sure why it is rated 4 star hotel. It certainly is not up to standard. I would say it is a solid 3 star. Bed 3/5 Bathroom 3/5 Amenities 2/5 Room 2/5 Smell 2/5 Breakfast 3.5/5 Cleanliness 4/5 Location 5/5 AC apparently does not work after September. Was really hot during the night, cooler with windows open but very noisy and walls are pretty thin. Ventilation was not so great, stuffy air, sometime you could smell the kitchen scents coming through. No such thing as a mini bar. Theres the tinest cooling unit that barely cools. Don't expect mini fridge. For the price it is quite alright. Not a 4 star though.

I had a wonderful staying there. The breakfast is great, and they change every day. They have coffee, juice, water and snacks in the restaurant all day for free. Tou can wash your clothes there for free too. The only problem was the Wi-Fi connection.

We stayed here after we had the roof of our Airbnb collapse. The staff absolutely made our day with their friendliness and the way they got us a room straight away. The breakfast is good. The room was clean, light and perfect

Spent one night at Hotel Memories Budapest and the only fault I can find are door entry cards that are being temperamental. Nice room and tasty breakfast. Good value for money. Special thanks to Aiga who was very helpfull with sorting out or parking :)

Hotel Memories Budapest is hands down the absolute worst hotel we have ever stayed at in the entire world. Firstly they got hacked and our personal information was compromised. Secondly they advertise airconditioning and they do exist but the owner turns them off so you cant use them. It's about 30 degrees Celsius in our room but the owner who lacks a brain doesn't think its hot enough. They advertise aircon that you cannot even use! The beds are absolutely rock hard. The walls are dirty, the pillows stink. You can't even open a suitcase in the room they're that tiny. The wifi they advertise drops out every 5 minutes. You dont need use the sauna because the rooms literally feel like a sauna! I asked to be moved to a cooler room since there's aircon in the lobby but they could not offer this. The number I was given for the manager does not work. Absolutely disgusting, book elsewhere!

I booked this hotel for the night as I arrived late and it's close to the 100E airport bus stop (5 minute walk). The single room was TINY - the only smaller one I've had was in Singapore. However it was clean and modern with things like a Nespresso machine, USB plugs etc... The air conditioner was stuck on heat and it wasn't able to change to cool (it was October, so fair enough) but luckily I was able to open the window to let in some fresh air before I slept. The bathroom was a good size and shower was fine. The included breakfast was great and offered a huge variety, good if you want to sample some Hungarian meats and chilli paste too! Even the British would be happy as there was eggs and bacon...

Absolute steal for the price! Staff were amazing, great breakfast included, location was perfect and the room was so cozy! Would 100% recommend!

Don't go to this hotel! Overpriced, modest at best. I don't know how they got 4*! One (old) towel per person in a room. Room was small. We couldn't get two sunny side up eggs for breakfast the "chef" wouldn't make it. That never happened in my life! Breakfast was modest too. Freshly baked pastry though.

If common sense and service had a currency, this place would be bankrupt. I can't understand why I need to go to reception to report the same problem multiple times in less than half an hour before I'm provided a sensible solution. Location is brilliant because you're close to everything but I suspect a corner in the local underground would provide better service.

The room was pretty small and with a parking lot view not garden as promised. The shower was nice good shampoo and bath gel though. The place has a jacuzzi but it was closed when arrived, and a dry sauna which is small but nice. Breakfast was real good, very nice location for the sites.

The room was small but cute, comfortable, well desired and clean. Staff is friendly and speaking good English. Close to the city center. There are several 24/7 small supermarkets around if you need something in the late night. Breakfast included. The room on the floor -1 is for breakfast until 7.30 to 11.00, and then this room is turning to the lounge zone where you can chill and have some coffee or juices all the day, it's free for guests. WiFi is working good. Possible to leave your baggage in the hotel after check out. The restaurant nearby is good too - when you check in the staff of the hotel provides you coupon for the free drinks there, so use it👍

Very nice hotel, with great location! I got a bedroom with the view to the sinagoge which was very beautiful! The breakfast was very good! Also we got welcoming drinks and you could go pick snacks in the coffee area for free during the day. The hotel also has a small gym.

Clean room overlooking the synagogue directly. The hotel staff was very accommodating and very friendly. Excellent breakfast, from 7:30 and a night lounge bar in the hotel. Quite close to the center. Very poor window seals. Big noise from the street, where you can hear absolutely everything.

Very pleasant stay, especially loved the all-day lounge area. Very nice for having some quiet tea and catching up on writing.

The Hotel Memories Budapes doesn't meet requirements of a 4 star hotel. The only one person at the service desk in the night is overwhelmed by simple check-in/-out issues. The room was very small and moldy which is a no-go from a health safety point of view. The furniture doesn't look even close to the advertised pictures. After my "stay" there I feel almost scammed and definitely wouldn't book it again.

  • 1/5 GHEORGHIU A. 2 years ago on Google
They cancelled my reservation just before arriving to the hotel. The reason was that another guest decided to prolong his stay, so, as a consequence, they decided to cancel my booking. They argued that my card was not valid, which was not the case (there were some problems, but were solved), as they managed to withdraw 1 euro from it. The amount is not important, but there attitude was inexcusable. They didn't even propose a solution to these, only offered apologizes, so I literally had to find accommodation on the spot.

More like 3*. Not bad but nothing special. The area around the hotel is noisy. We chose a room overlooking the inner courtyard, but the loud party disturbed us at night. Everything can also be heard in the hotel (for example, neighbors' cough).

  • 3/5 Stella Davis S. 1 year ago on Google
The superior room with street view was cute. But the windows really small and the view nothing special rather ugly. I don’t put 5 stars because I had to find a supermarket to get me shampoo since they don’t include shampoo which is weird and definitely not a 4 star feature. I might say this hotel is 2 or 3 stars max. The breakfast wasn’t nothing special. Personnel was friendly the room clean. Very close to many nice restaurants like vintage garden and twenty-six. I did everything almost by walking.

Our room was big enough for two people, it was modern, comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet spread was superb, the menu alternates daily consisting of Hungarian and international food. Safety box, snacks and a coffee machine are provided in the room. You can also access the lounge for snacks, hot/cold drinks until 2am.

Great hotel in great and safe location with very friendly staff and superb breakfast! Cleaning service is perfect, all is clean, and I think it is good value for those money. Recommended PLUS: - Very clean room - Warm room and bathroom - Good reception - Paper towels in bathroom - Awesome breakfast - Friendly staff MINUS: - Shower is horrible, the floor is made our of plastic which “breathes” if you put your leg in one corner, the other gorner will go up. - Much smaller in reality - Windows are not very sound proof, noises from the street are loudly heard in the room.

  • 5/5 Martyn W. 2 years ago on Google
Very friendly staff and well situated with comfy, clean rooms. There is a good bar downstairs which sells really nice IPA and a special mention needs to go to the food - it's exceptionally good!! Lots of nice meat and non-meat option's. Definitely recommend.

Great Location. Great room. Great service. Great breakfast. 24/7 open reception and 24/7 free for guests :sauna, non alcoholic drinks and fitness. I can only recommend this hotel

Very nice place, a lot of places you can visit around, lounge room that works 24/7 is great, happy that they fixed our conditioner fast, but the beds are extremely uncomfortable and the breakfast is a little meh. Overall our stay was pretty pleasant but it doesnt reach 4 stars.

Rooms are really tiny for Asian people. Staff is good. Good to stay for 2-3days, not more than that. It is the heart of the city and more things can be explored here.

  • 4/5 Max D. 1 year ago on Google
Great location, nice personnel. Rooms a bit small, and there is no shampoo (they warn you about that, though) Good breakfast. Fitness area small, but OK, and there is a tiny sauna - it's the door next to the fitness room with a man on it, probably used to be men's shower room. Make sure you stop by before you go to the parking garage at Hollo utca 6 - they will sell you a cheap ticket. Maybe the rooms and the facilities are a bit simple, but the location more than makes up for it. Will very likely be back

  • 3/5 Tomás A. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is central and fairly close to everything. The room was clean but the one we had was very very small. There was more space in the bathroom than the rest of the room. They offered coffee but you had to ask for a capsule at reception which is ridiculous. They had tea bags in the room but no kettle or mugs. Again don't understand. At night the room smelled of cooked food from their kitchens, that came through the bathroom vent. We told the staff but they didn't apologize or say much. Again it's was ok for one night but wouldn't stay here again or recommend it anyone.

Great and clean hotel. Perfectly located. The hotel also has a club lounge where you can eat small snacks and drinks (hot and cold) after breakfast till very late (2 am).

Having traveled around, I can easily say that this is one of true best hotels I have ever stayed, and the reasons for that are: the location - it’s close to everything, I walked so much around but the buses and metro are so close too (I got the bus 100E from the airport and arrived at the hotel without a problem); breakfast - it’s good, there’s some varieties, and at least on hot plates changed everyday I was there; the room - it’s a good size, I absolutely loved the window, the bathroom was good too, I had no problem with the water pressure or temperature, the mattress was a little hard for my liking and the pillows were soft (the way I like) but overall I was able to sleep great; reception - the two girls that stayed during the day and the guy at night were friendly and helped out went I had questions; the facility - the fact that the beverages and some snacks are available the whole day is just awesome, coming back to the hotel after a cold day outside and being able to have unlimited hot chocolate and croissants was wonderful, the gym is well equipped, I didn’t use it that much but it was good. There was one incident, there was a guy smoking in the room around midnight and the fire alarm went off, of course everyone got scared and went outside, it wasn’t the hotel’s fault, the guy at the reception and the fireman resolved the issue pretty fast and we all went back to the rooms. Overall, I loved staying here, I did a lot of research before booking the hotel, and after walking around Budapest (over to Novotel, Leonard and Ibis) and seeing the location of the other hotels, I was super happy with my decision. I am for sure coming back to Budapest, and I know where I’m staying next time.

Totally recommended for a trip to Budapest! Perfectly located right next to Astoria Station in the middle of busy Budapest and easy to get to every Tourist Destination from here! Breakfast was more than expected and a lot of choices, wifi had some issues but therefore got upgraded to a massive room. Bed was really comfortable, cleaning stuff took a lot of care of the cleaning, Windows block off all the outside noises and staff was trying their best to assist with everything. Would totally book again :)!
