I resided at this hotel for business on two separate occasions in 2019, each visit lasting four consecutive weeks. The young, energetic staff was professional and very courteous, the best in Europe, from my experience. The actual building has an interesting, complicated multifaceted history, which is too much to cover here. However, despite its deep heritage, the facility seems brand new, it's modern, clean, smells nice and the interior design is original and even playful. You feel like you're staying in a brand new building. I'm American, one of my visits was during the 4th of July. The hotel staff was thoughtful enough to send a treat to my room (pictured) to mark the occasion! It was a really nice surprise. I hope to stay here again in the near future.

I loved this hotel! I am very sensitive to noise and the room was so quiet! No footsteps above, no sound of people outside, just calm, quiet bliss. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable and very clean. The spa was even better than we expected, again very clean, and the steam sauna was one of the best we have tried. The staff was very professional, nice and friendly and always happy to help. We will stay here again!

The place is beautiful! Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is great! Breakfast was really good. Only downfall was the jacuzzi wasn't working while we were there and the bed was quite hard for me. Over all a beautiful, clean hotel 👍

Very nice. Lovely restaurant on the top floor where you also have breakfast in the morning. I stead of paintings they have TVs with a nice old style looking frame around it. Here they display rolling live (moving) paintings. Very nice. Some rooms have double door giving you a small foyer so you book those two rooms and go to each other without people in the hall seeing that. Also gives you extra sound isolation at night. Double glazed windows so low noise level from the road.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mystery Hotel Budapest, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The ambiance of the hotel is imbued with a unique charm that transports you to a different era, merging the allure of the past with the comforts of the present. What truly stood out during my stay, apart from the hotel's intrinsic beauty, was the commendable service I received, especially from Andras at the front desk. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine warmth made me feel valued and well-taken care of. Whether I had questions about the city or needed assistance with room amenities, Andras was always eager to help, making my stay all the more memorable. Rooms were spacious, immaculately clean, and well-appointed. The amenities provided were top-notch, reflecting the hotel's commitment to ensuring a luxurious stay for its guests. The location of the hotel is also ideal for those looking to explore the city. Its proximity to major attractions and local eateries means that guests have a plethora of options right at their doorstep. A special shout-out to Andras for elevating my experience to new heights! Highly recommended!

Amazing 5* hotel, very closed to the beautiful Budapest Parliament and other sightseeing’s. All staff are very kind and professional, special mention to David, from the Front Desk reception. He has been very helpful with detailed indications and info provided without hurries. That’s make the difference of good and bad hotels. In addition, food is excellent, I tried several options for dinner and breakfast buffet is according to 5* hotel, quality of food is visible. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Spa area is also outstanding. Thanks a lot to the hotel team for having achieved that. I will stay here always when I am back in Budapest.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The hotel is beautiful and the room was lovely. We stayed in a suite. We walked miles around Budapest and from this hotel you can walk all over. Options to catch metro bus or tram are also close by. Staff left us a nice bottle of bubbles. All in all a great stay. Some cons. Breakfast wasn't included and at 20Euro each we were much better off going to one of the many fantastic cafes near by. The road noise, as expected for a big city is definitely there most of the night but we wear ear plugs so didn't bother us. We asked for a kettle, cups and teabags and were given these. We were also loaned an iron. Staff are nice, helpful and friendly. All in it was great. I'm not sure it justifies the high price tag compared with other hotels in Budapest and I've stayed in some 3/4 star hotels that have been better equipped BUT it is a lovely hotel. We can highly recommend.

We are here as part of 120 years of Harley Davidson . Budapest is full of Harley Davidson motorcycles and the Budapest made sure we feel very welcome . Hotel Mystery is absolutly packed with motorcyclists and we sure feel welcome here . The hotel is beautiful , the great hall as its name is a great place for breakfast . Our room is beautiful, quiet with some design touches that make it a bit more special . Staff is super helpful, always with a smile .we didn't try the roof top bar but we heard its lovely and the cocktails are great. Signora Kittie, who made our reservation was very kind and a joy to communicate with.

Three nights stay here was maximum enjoyment! The atmosphere is sensational. The staff is helpful, energetic and professional. Special regards to Dora and David at the reception and Jasmine at the Great Hall Restaurant bar. Thank you so much! Everyone!

Super hotel, friendly staff and a very enjoyable stay. Breakfast in the great hall was great with excellent service and freshly made coffee. Lovely chandeliers around the hallways a pleasant sky bar restaurant. Enjoyed the spa and sauna too.

Mine and my partners first ever time in Budapest, this hotel honestly was stunning from the moment you step through the doors. Our room was beautiful, so quiet at night (the bed was so comfortable) Beautiful interior, lovely quiet free spa area with towels, showers, lounge and vitamin water - more than we could have asked for. Breakfast was lovely in a beautiful room, could look and the design of this hotel all day. Hotel in a great location right next to the shopping centre and 20-40 minute walk from almost all attractions, town, bars, food. On our last day we checked out at 11am but was able to use the luggage room, chargers, lounge area and get a coffee at 7pm at night - amazing service and really helped us relax before our flight home. The sky garden rooftop bar was lovely, beautiful views of the buildings all lit up at night, lovely cocktails with a great selection, heaters and blankets. Only thing I could have used was a full length mirror in the room but as I found out this could have been asked for at reception - this is also great for others who need this on their stay. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know- thank you.

The staff were all very friendly, room was clean and meticulous. The breakfast buffet had a great selection of foods and the spa access was a nice touch. The hotel is within walking distance to most of the attractions and is close to the train station, but you can easily walk around the city from the hotel. Would definitely recommend to others and would book again if I come back to Budapest.

  • 5/5 Jacqueline B. 10 months ago on Google
Hotel not quite in the city centre, however, its close to bus and tram links and the train station is a five minute walk away. Staff and service - absolutely faultless from reception to restaurant staff and housekeeping. Everyone was cheerful and polite and were on hand whatever you needed. Breakfast- having read some reviews re variety and quality of the food I was expecting average. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. There is something for everyone, my Husband loved the hot Apple Pie! Scrambled Eggs are standard, but if you ask one of the waiters, they will get chef to do Fried Eggs or Omelettes. A great variety of food, juice, teas and coffee. Spa- small but clean and relaxing, never overcrowded. Rooms- exceptionally clean, good quality of complementary toiletries, very quirky in keeping with the hotel decor. Overall our stay was faultless.

This hotel exceed my expectations. Centrally located few minutes away from the main train station. With a local bus stop across the street. The decoration is very original. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The A/C in the room works great and beds are very comfy. I loved the “Ritual” brand of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel and hand wash. The bar on the roof includes a great selection of very tasty food and cocktails. We had breakfast included in our rate through Expedia and I was impressed with the wide variety from fruits, veggies, proteins and breads. We loved visiting Budapest and this hotel made our 30 hours flight from USA a very relaxing place to rest and start our journey.

Special birthday. Would have been better to be more central for walking about. A bit quiet. The lounge promoted in the video was open only for breakfast and limited lunch. A bit disappointed with the menu in the Sky bar. A bit pricey for what seemed like bar food not dinner. Lovely service and cocktails though. The room was a little small but the nespresso machine fruit and chocolate on arrival was much appreciated. Too tired to go out from the location at night we were grateful for the excellent sandwiches that you can request. Liked the fruit soaked water in reception. Never used the spa but can see that would be a plus for those that enjoy a soak. A good location if you get to know the buses from day one and if you prefer a quiet location. Also not too far to walk to the railway station and underground

This has to be one of the best Hotels I have ever stayed in. The decor was stunning and the rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean and the staff were super friend and helpful. I would defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Budapest, all of the sights are within a 30 minute walk of the hotel alternatively the Metro or Tram are within a few hundred yards making this a great location to stay for a few nights.

Amazing hotel - really luxurious rooms, wonderful and friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Spa is a nice option. Well located. Fun games table in the great hall. Always looked forward to going back to the hotel at the end of the day :)

Gorgeous interior, modern/classic. Rooms are unique and comfortable. Excellent amenities. Food delicious, roof top bar/restaurant is a must (remember to book as can get booked out). Staff were excellent and extremely helpful!!

This hotel was beautifully decorated with whimsical art. You enter to a grand staircase and the first floor has a nice spa / workout area. Room on the fifth floor was very well appointed, all the amenities you needed, including a blow dryer. We were a little confused, and the glass enclosed empty space near the window. The window was too high for us to see out. The bed and pillows were comfortable. However, was aligned with a rubber or plastic sheet underneath that was quite noisy if you had to roll over at night. We did access the garden terrace on the roof, that was quite lovely sunset! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Overall, I would recommend staying here.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 stars) I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel in Budapest, and it was truly one of the nicest hotel experiences I've ever had. The room I stayed in was not only beautiful but also incredibly comfortable, featuring a lovely shower and a bed that made for a perfect night's sleep. The unique artwork above the bed added a charming touch to the room's decor. The rooftop bar was a highlight of my stay, offering stunning views and a lovely ambiance. My only disappointment was that it's only open for a limited time, which left me wanting more. One of the standout features of this hotel is the fact that you get access to the spa, which is a fantastic bonus. The hot tub and sauna/steam room were a true delight, adding an extra layer of relaxation to my stay. While the hotel is a little bit of a walk from the main town, it's not too far, and the journey is well worth it. The staff here are incredibly friendly and always ready to assist, and the cocktails served at the bar were nothing short of amazing. I truly wish I could have stayed longer to savor the beautiful room, the rooftop views, and the excellent service. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable stay in Budapest. It's a gem in every sense of the word! 😊🏨🍹

Such a lovely hotel! Every single moment of the experience was fantastic - charming, friendly, welcoming staff at every point who were so amazing and helpful. The hotel itself was very cool and creatively decorated, plus immaculately clean at all times. The room was beautiful and amenities were fantastic, including great coffee and fancy toiletries, and a million pillow options. It was amazingly quiet in the room and the spa was super relaxing and pretty too, we wished we had booked a longer holiday! The location was excellent with loads of public transport nearby, and an easy walk to much of the city centre too, plus it was a very relaxed and safe area. However, most of all, I can't say enough good things about every person working there - reception staff, cleaning staff, restaurant staff, spa staff everyone - they were all so professional and lovely, it created such a warm atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again, such a great place!

Perfection in a hotel. It was an incredible stay. The rooms were immaculate and so comfortable. Little added extras everywhere. The spa was beautiful and the Sky Bar was worth having a drink and some nibbles in. Breakfast was tasty (only grumble that they only had apricot jam and honey, no strawberry or raspberry but that's a personal thing). Staff very friendly and helpful. A must stay hotel in my opinion

Room was charming and delightful. Location has really great transit access so we were able to get anywhere we needed super easily. Service absolutely impeccable. We made lots of requests (extra towels or shower caps for going to thermal baths, shaving kit, print tickets for train) and they were super nice about it. Price very fair. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Stayed for three nights in this stunning hotel during summer. Although, not quite central Budapest, it is around a 15/20 minutes walk from most major locations and restaurants. The hotels interior is stunning and has a grand and welcoming ambience. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, provided aid with any and all requests we had. The rooftop has average views of the city but a fantastic range of cocktails, drinks and a few main dishes which we enjoyed for two out of the three nights. I would recommend and would love to return here the next time I’m in Budapest!

  • 5/5 Cameron C. 7 months ago on Google
Didn't stay here overnight, just popped in for some drinks and the view. Service was quick, the menu on the rooftop bar was great, lots of food and drinks to choose from, all of which looked great, and the drinks we did order were as expected. Would head here again 100%. However I would say the view could have been a little better when compared to what I was expecting, but it was a nice place nonetheless.

We stayed in the Mystery Hotel for four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. All the staff were extremely friendly and attentive and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. The location of the hotel is slightly out of the city centre and away from the noise and crowds. But to my mind this is a real advantage. If you are prepared to walk for twenty minutes or so, which we did mainly to justify the food that the city has to offer, this is fine. Though the public transort system is so good that there is really no need to walk if you don't want to. Then there is the hotel building itself. This is a beautiful period building with very amenity you could want. It is spotlessly clean and the interior design takes your breath away. Eating the beautifully presented breakfast in the Great Hall is an experience in itself. We would recommend this hotel to anyone as a base to explore beautiful Budapest and have a pampered relaxing time between explorations.

I absolutely loved the hotel. One of my favorite hotels ever. The staff was super friendly, especially Timea(she was pleasant and extremely happy to receive us) along with the two gentlemen who helped with our luggage. Yes, the hotel isn’t in the city, but we loved being in the calmer area. The room was clean and meticulous( they even had children’s bath ropes for my kids) you will love the spa, it’s so calming. You have to try the rooftop Terrace-so romantic. Loved all their exotic drinks. I wish there were more hotels like the Mystery Hotel. I Can’t wait to come back.

We stayed at the mystery hotel for our honeymoon two days after we got married. I was really keen to stay here as the photos looked amazing! Seeing as it was classed as a five star hotel, I assumed we would get some sort of gesture for this as I had informed the hotel previously that it was our honeymoon, but we did not receive even a congratulations from staff which was disappointing as other hotels we’ve stayed at for birthdays etc always tend to do this. The room was clean and nice. The spa facilities were good. We were slightly disappointed that the roof top bar wasn’t open but if we had read in to it I’m sure it states this. We sadly ended up ill with Covid whilst staying so we didn’t leave the room much. We were a bit upset as we requested late check out as we had a night time flight, the receptionist said it shouldn’t be a problem but they can’t guarantee we would get it, we thought we would be informed early in the morning if we weren’t able to get late check out but we weren’t informed until 11 o’clock when we had to quickly pack and leave. It was a disappointing end to our stay, we understand they couldn’t guarantee it but I’m sure they knew before 11am that we wouldn’t be getting it. It was stressful as this meant we were without anywhere to go whilst being ill with a fever etc and had to go to the airport 9 hours before our flight which meant we were travelling for 20 hours. It would have been good if the hotel had a lounge area we could have stayed in for a while. We plan to come back to Budapest as we didn’t get to see as much as we’d hoped to with being ill, but don’t think we would stay here again.

We had an amazing stay, the staff were super friendly and the rooms were spacious, clean to a very high standard. There is also a spa that guests can use. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Brilliant hotel. Everything was absolutely perfect. The room was sparkling clean and the bedding very comfortable. The staff members were all warm-welcoming which was very pleasant. They also were available whenever we needed them. The spa area was perfect : very beautiful, peaceful and some home-made lemon water was available for free. Breakfast was also great with some vegan options. The only regret was that I wish they would have had some more vegan options like vegan butter to eat with jam or some vegan pastries / cakes or plant based yoghurt to eat with the fruits available. Overall, that was a very good experience and we would definitely recommend. Thanks a bunch.

We had an amazing time in the Mystery Hotel Budapest. They have a stunning interior design and every area has a unique flair. The spa area is small but has a wonderful atmosphere. The receptionists were very attentive and friendly to us all the time. Also the sky garden is worth mentioning with good vibes and tasty food & drinks. I can absolutely recommend this hotel. It has well deserved those 5 stars!

Spot on! Everything from check-in to check-out was absolutely perfect and as it was supposed to be. Friendly and helpful staff everywhere at the hotel, whether that be the reception or the breakfast restaurant. Great wellness facilities with Jacuzzi, Steam room, and Sauna - A perfect way to begin the day.

I've put 5 stars overall because we are quite content that we had stayed at Mystery Hotel. Before our travels we always read the comment on the internet- and we found so many positive one that we decided to stay there. The hotel is located about 10-15 min walking to the Budapest Parliament. The room was clean, equipped with all necesarry utensils( like hairdresser, soap, body lotion, coffee machine, water, bathrobe, slippers). If you need any additional thing like toothbrush you just have to ask for it. The bed was comfortable, althougt I think it could be bigger. The hotel staff was helpful in every aspect, so big plus for it. The breakfast was delicious, moreover we are happy that they had no gluten bread so my husband could try it. If you are in the hotel do not miss to visit the rooftoop bar(great view) and of course sauna and jacuzzi. If you forget your swimsuit at home do not worry- there is a shopping mall nearby. Next time definitely we will stay at Mystery Hotel again.

Worthy of my 5 Stars! The Mystery Hotel Budapest is a real find. I think tour guide Rick Steves would love this place - a tremendous bargain with amazing staff. I was in Budapest on business, so all I ever need is a clean, quiet room, comfortable bed, nice linens, with good Air Conditioning (Room can cool below 19 Deg C). The Mystery Hotel delivers all of this - and more! I was staying in the hotel with several other team members for 2 nights, and had a great experience. I went away for two days, and came back to Budapest for three more nights. To be closer to the tourist areas, I switched hotels to the Grand Kempinski which is next to the Ritz Carlton. I stayed one night at the Kempinski, but did not sleep well for various reasons. I switched back to the Mystery Hotel for my remaining 3 days in the city because it was so superior in every way (except location) - and I am so happy I did. Sleep is why hotels exist!!! Pros: - By far - the people. They did all they could to ensure we were comfortable. They thought of everything. One day, our team got up early for a meeting - and despite the kitchen being closed early in the day, they delivered box breakfasts to our rooms so we could get something to eat before we left. Service is done with a smile and with enthusiasm - everywhere in the hotel. Truly some of the best service / best attitude I have ever experienced. - The rooftop bar - incredible views, great drinks, and good food. Try the Gin menu - try them all! - Breakfast - in a fantastic Great Hall, with good food and great service - The rooms are clean, comfortable, and cold (if you want them cold - which I do!!). Great pillows, great showers, and well appointed. Cons (minor, but just so you are aware): - Eclectic decorating. I actually like it - especially the masterpieces with a spin (Girl with a pearl earing - on a cell phone). It is a bit unconventional, and not a normal hotel, but it works. - The location - a bit far from the center of all, but within a 10 to 15 minute walk of the main tourist areas. With the abundance of taxis bikes, and scooters, it did not pose a problem for me - and there are several very good restaurants within a very short walk. - Soap Dish in the shower doesn't drain, so it holds a pool of water which makes the bar soap mushy. Overall, I have been thoroughly pleased and happy with this hotel. The most important point of a hotel is a good nights sleep - in this hotel - I have slept beautifully. On top of that, all of the other benefits are frosting on the cake - especially the team. When I come back to Budapest - I will be staying here.

In general a beautiful place. Think it might more cater to couples/young ppl. Rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, shower fantastic. Sauna & stem rooms functioning, pity no time to try out. Spa is really small. It would be better if front desk has more enthusiasm & warm for their work

As with all of these reviews 5* reviews the hotel was gorgeous. It had everything you would expect and need from a 5* hotel except where it is a boutique, you get a much more personal touch and you never feel like you are in a busy area. The spa being small can sometimes feel a little busy but I only experience this once and it wasn't uncomfortable it just wasn't isolationary. There was a small gym with everything you need, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Most of the time felt as if we had fallen into a blissful dream. I could relax and not pay any attention to the time. Rooms were lovely, very different art work but you know what your in for when you look at the pictures online. I also have to say the masonry is like much of the rest of the city, exquisite. The chandeliers throughout the entire hotel makes it feel very royal and luxurious. The grand hall is as the names states. Having breakfast in such a beautiful setting with such amazing service just makes this place so liberating. I definitely felt rejuvenated from my stay here. The cost was so low for such great things. The only downside was the sky garden isn't open in the winter, we may have had a sneak peak at night, and I must say, I will be doing another trip in the summer just to enjoy this place to the fullest. Obviously budapest is a beautiful city as well. You are a 10 minute walk to the very centre of this metropolitan and the shops and sights.

Wonderful hotel. Only stayed a night but I wish we could have stayed longer. We were taking a late train to Bratislava, and they kept our bags all day. Hotel is a few blocks from the train station so it was so convenient to pick them up at the end of the day.

If you only need a single reason to visit Budapest, it’s this hotel. The history of the building, the interior design paired with amazing staff makes it one of the best experiences you’ll ever make. The rooms are very stylish, the rooftop bar has amazing views and the Spa makes this place very unique. I will certainly come back and can only recommend it to everyone who is looking for a special place to stay.

The spa and rooftop is a bonus too. Hope we can come back soon.

Beautiful few days staying at Mystery Hotel Budapest. We were opposite the day spa and spent some relaxing time in there. Breakfast was fabulous, location was great and the bed was incredibly comfy! Thank you to all the staff.

I LOVE this hotel, it's so cool and different. Whenever we stay here we have a problem getting food at the hotel, the restaurant hours are not consistent. But that's okay because there are a ton of great restaurants around, it is just unfortunate because our employer puts money on the room to eat and we can't get food. But aside from that, the hotel is so grand, the rooms are comfortable and super quirky. We have not been to the spa yet but it looks phenomenal. You really feel like you are in a Wes Anderson film when you stay here. Super cute rooftop bar as well but drinks are quite expensive for Hungarian standards.

We stayed for five nights and had a wonderful time ! We had an issue with our key to access our rooms a lot of the times however the reception staff were amazing and extremely helpful. They managed it effectively and in sufficient time. The hotel is a beautiful place to stay at and is located in an excellent place. For a young couple we completely fell in love with both the hotel and the city. We will be returning and will return to the Mystery Hotel. Just to add, the breakfast was a brilliant start to the day and had a lot of variety to choose from. We also had meals and cocktails in the restaurant a few times and they were delicious. Huge thank you to all the staff that worked at the Mystery Hotel, they work very hard and offer a great experience for their guests.
