The hostel was dirty, especially the bathrooms, rooms were so small and there was no window so no possibility of breathing fresh air. Also a bunch of weird people were staying there in front of the hostel (we saw them in the morning), now something positive - the locality was convenient and the receptionists were nice. But I definitely wouldn't come back so I don't recommend staying here unless you want to experience the movie The hostel in real life.

Location is awesome! The room is more than pathetic, i couldn’t even stand properly in it, if you were on the higher platform( half of the room was higher) It was like a pigeons den. The bed gave me awful back and neck aches. Shower rooms were awful as well.

Stayed one night it was more then enough. I had one of the rooms outside main building. The bathroom was unkept and with black mold. The corridor and room smelt of humidity and staleness. The worst part was that I my bed had bed bugs, which I realised only after my trip. I emailed the hostel and was basically told "no don't, we checked" with a couple of hour with no resolution. Don't recommend and would rather splurge on a decent accomodation next time.

Run away! Internet / Wi-Fi is not consistent. You can not do video calls or conferences here for work. They will keep dropping. I had to hotspot all of my meetings and pay out of pocket. The common spaces in the location are loud and not clean. There are no quiet corners to work out of. Overall, the location is very dirty and disgusting. Rooms did not have windows nor beds (it was a mattress on a construction pallet). Bathrooms had mold, rust, and standing water. Staff are rude and like to smoke in front of the entrance.

Fully equipment in room and kitchen and bathroom, 2 big kitchens is great, many free wifi, have many bus routes. Some corners inside the room isn’t clean but acceptable with the good prices.

bed bug bites spoiled the whole sleep in the morning around 1-2am. i showed the bug i captured to the receptionist ! then, after waking up, i went to the bathroom, bathroom water flooded even in the kitchen. my suffering should have been handled with more care! client under the name: gaolan

we had a lovely time at baroque hostel in Budapest. we booked a room online, but as we arrived we were told that it wasn't free anymore, because booking.com has made a mistake. The friendly staff member offered us another (usually more expensive) room for almost the same price to make up for the mistake. The room, which featured its own bathroom was part of a flat and with a big communal area and balcony. The room itself was charming and colorful, tidy but a little bit dusty. The bathroom featured all essentials, but had a bit of a weird smell. The WiFi connection was stable and there was a 24h reception. In a nutshell we had a blast and would definitely come back! Peace out

Great value and beautifully decorated, but we did get woken at 7am when folks are meant to be quiet until 8am... They hadn't done their dishes either so we had to move all our stuff to a different kitchen while the staff did the dishes which would've been grand if we'd known it was gonna happen. Not much of a view from our room anyway and the curtains don't reach the bottom of window. But it's dark enough for me to sleep cos of a blind outside. It's really cosy and warm (we're here in December) and the showers are hot with good pressure. There's even a big bath that 2 could sit in. Cool use of a wardrobe! Not much storage in our room. Staff are helpful enough if you ask them stuff but not particularly chatty. The kitchens are well stocked with equipment and our food has been safe in the fridge. Our bed is comfy. There are only thin duvets but they're plenty warm enough. They've a selection of books to read.

Great stay. We’ll located next to beautiful park and easy transport directly leading to any point on interest around the city. Great prices and service. Highly recommend.

I've stayed here twice. First time it was 3-beds room. It was normally, because cheap. The second time it was 1-bed room. I don't like it. The room was near reception, so it was very noisy. Personal smoked near the window. One of the hostel employees would periodically shout, mimicking the sound is animals. This didn't seem normal.

It's a nice Hostel, really big with a lot of space. It has a nice kitchen, a shared fridge, really nice common areas and also a place outside with tables to stay. Staff is not very friendly, they are just employees that will do the minimum. Rooms are big but only one fan for an 8 bed, and no windows. I was lucky that it wasn't too hot. It's not close to center, 40 minute walk, but it's close to city park

Baroque Hostel is an absolute gem with its enchanting retro design! From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to another era, and the attention to detail in the decor is simply breathtaking. Every nook and cranny seems to have a story to tell, and the combination of rich, baroque elements with the timeless charm of retro design creates a unique and inviting atmosphere. It's a true feast for the eyes and a delightful place to stay. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind experience, Baroque Hostel is the perfect destination.

Budget double room is actually more like a closet. It could even pass for my girlfriend and me as some kind of cool hipster experience. But the staff is so uninterested, cold and it seems that we are bothering them when asking for anything. You pay upfront when you arrive, and the price is something like 10% more than it is on booking.com, allegedly bc of the conversion rate between euro and HUF. On booking it was 91,50€ but on arrival we paid 102,50€ so watch out for that. Maybe it's normal for Budaappest. Breakfast is actually a sandwich that you usually buy at the gas station and a bottle of water and an instant coffee. You could also opt for cereals, but we didn't, so I don't know how they are. Also the time of the breakfast is somewhere between 8 and 9 AM. Sanitary conditions are passable, but army style (mould and limescale in the shower, etc.). *the pic is the sandwich option for breakfast

Friendly hostel and well located, good facilities and best hostel kitchen(s) we’ve seen. 10/10 would recommend to any travelers looking for a golden place to stay for a relatively good price. Thank you!

Good and clean hostel, though the bathrooms could be a bit nicer and the rooms felt a bit retro

Great rooms, great service, good tips about interesting places for tourists at the reception. It's close by a busride (or a metroride) of 15 minutes to almost any tourist attraction in the city. 🤩✨💖

Went with a friend. Is good for the price that you pay. Overall was clean, nice place and most of the staff was really kind, except from one guy.

I originally booked a private room for a week, but ended up staying a month. The place is in a great location, the rooms are comfortable and live up to the value for your money. The staff is courteous and helpful. The manager Karsci is a very articulate and interesting person to talk with, and supervisor Anita is a walking honey pot, the sweetest lady I met in Budapest during my stay. With that, I will say after reading other reviews that many are simply, in my perspective, written by people who are always feeling entitled to more or have delusional expectations, let´s be honest here, you cannot demand the level of accomodation and amenities of a 5 star hotel in a hostel, they are two completely different concepts to begin with, it is just common sense. You want to complain all day even if things are perfect, go to the Ritz Carlton for 1000 euros a night... You want to just live a happy stay with modest but comfortable accomodation and great location, come to Baroque Hostel!!!

Idk about others but my experience wasn't good. Had to stay with some old guys who were terribly snoring and breathing. I thought the guy will die. Very tight space in the room. Reception was not that hyped up as people says. If you want a roof for the night then that's for you. Not for young people.

It was a very pleasant stay. - Clean rooms and accomondation - friendly staff - WiFi - good prices I stayed números times passing through Budapest and had a bed 🛌 in a shared room. Cheers Adam Burkhard

For the price I payed for a single room, I expected a bit more. Walls were so thin, so I was hearing the snoring neighbour all the time. Rooms are extremely small and with low ceilings.

The personal was really good, we could speak English, we could leave our luggage in lockers after the checkout for a small price. The room was really good and clean. The little washbasin in the bathroom was getting into our nerves and the main wifi network didn’t work properly, but other things were ok. 🙂

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Baroque Hostel. Staff is very and it is easy to meet people there. At the same time it is quiet at night so you can a good night sleep for an affordable price

The baroque Hostel has a very nice atmosphere, nice service people and cool paintings inside. I felt really good in there. The bathrooms are also very clean. You can even borrow an iron or hairdryer if you need one. Good breakfast is also included in the price and there also was a kitchen. The only thing to complain about was one of the beds. It was very hard and it hurt a little sleeping in it. But for thr price it was totaly fair. Totally loved it!

Stayed for just one night but was very happy with the hospitality of staff. They very happy to help out. The layout of the hostel took me by surprise and reminded me of Narnia (walk into closet to enter common space). Facilitates very clean and modern.

These guys are the kindest in Budapest. You can find people from everywhere and make new friends. The location is perfect, in the middle of everything. Very close from trains, buses and historic places, and is very safe. recommended by Ruben 👍

Good location, toilets smell horrible and are not cleaned, mould in the bathroom areas. Some rooms are completely inside and have no airflow in them causing the rooms to reach 30C in the middle of the night. Staff are good.

Actually a vibey hostel. Like super nice inside - great communal area and kitchen, clean bathroom facilities and relaxed staff. Location isn't great, but there's a lovely authentic Hungarian restaurant nearby, as well as Heroes Square and of course frequent busses to get you into town.

This place is a joke...they put us in the cellar!no air circulation, flies and sidewalk facing window. I thought i was getting a bunk bed but was more like a junk bed. Location is prime though.

The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Everyone is very chill and the hostel itself has a very welcoming homey vibe. We were more in contact with the over night receptionist and he was amazing! I would recommend this hostel to anyone and if I come back to Budapest, will definitely revisit it.
