The location is great, and the staff very friendly, but the hotel has very very old furniture, it is dirty and stinky. It is a 1 star hotel at prices of 5 star. The breakfast was very poor and not tasty. The parking was 20€ per day, more expensive than any other hotel in the area.

I recently had an amazing stay at NH hotel in Budapest and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service that lasted throughout my entire stay. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the linens were soft and luxurious. I particularly appreciated the complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities, which made mornings that much more enjoyable. The hotel's location is also perfect for anyone looking to explore the city. It's located in the heart of Budapest, close to all the major tourist attractions, restaurants, and shops. I was able to walk to most of the places I wanted to visit, which was incredibly convenient. In addition to the great location and comfortable rooms, the staff at NH hotel really made my stay special. They were friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that I had a great experience. Whether it was providing recommendations for places to visit or helping me with my luggage, they were always happy to help. Overall, I had an amazing stay at NH hotel in Budapest and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay. The staff, rooms, and location were all exceptional and I cannot wait to return for another visit!

I stayed here solo for my birthday for three days. The were super nice from day 1, they brought me a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and a card. They allocated me a beautiful room with lovely views as I had requested and Tamara, from reception, and another lovely lady on the weekend, were incredibly helpful and friendly. I felt like home. Breakfast was super nice and tasty and lots of options. They prepared me a breakfast box for the day I was leaving really early. The room was huge and spotless with a lovely balcony with city views. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back for sure! Super quiet and the bed was huge and incredibly comfy!

Very nice hotel with good location, few minutes walk to Danube River, 1km to the Hungarian Parliament Building. Room is large enough, beds are comfortable, good breakfast and friendly staffs.

Great location but simply not worthy of being classed as 4 star or part of the NH group. Bar was closed, no robe/slippers as should have been for room selection. Air conditioning unoperable. Just two coffee sachets supplied. Breakfast area just OK (I fell for reviews of excellent breakfast), only one coffee machine operating. Skipped final morning breakfast.

A decent hotel to stay at. The location is nice: you are close to the Margitsziget and close to public transport. You have to walk through a somewhat disgusting wide alley where homeless people sleep. The rooms are fairly big, but for a 3 persons stay there will only be 2 chairs. The rooms are cleaned daily and there is a bath tub. A safe and small fridge to use. The breakfast staff is extremely nice and helpful. Sadly you don't really get good tips unless you ask for it.

Stayed here at the end of July. Hotel is nice, room and bathroom was a good size. Had the usual tea/coffee facilities but the used cups weren’t changed daily (not a major issue) but the rest of the room was cleaned spotlessly. Reception staff were ok. We didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on that. The hotel is in a good location and is 5 minutes from the subway and another couple of minutes is the main train station.

Arriving from Romania and having a stop for the night in Budapest with a car full of ski gear and a Thule on it and a dog. We needed to find a hotel to rest for the night. To be full honest, we were very disappointed for a 4 star. It is true it's difficult to find a pet friendly place but paying 66euro without breakfast and an additional 35eur for the dog (100eur+ in total) for 1 night and 23eur for one night parking. The "rest" have cost us 124eur... - Also, furniture were damaged and could be repaired. And the wall (see picture) Limited drinks in the fridge (Didn't have beer in the fridge) (see picture) + On the other side, the room and the bathroom were well cleaned. The garage allowed us to go with a Thule (max 2.0m) Access to the room from the garage with elevator In conclusion, we are disappointed because of the price quality ratio.

Decent accommodation. Rooms were a bit small, a mix of modern and a bit dated styling. Major negative was the shower made a large puddle on the floor every time it was used, despite being careful, there was just something wrong with the glass divider - shouldn't happen in accommodation at this price point. Other than that, neighborhood was quiet, staff was good and helpful.

All in all my stay was ok. My room was just fine. No „wow“ factor or anything. There’s a minibar with coffee making amenities. The hotel is quite old but it’s tidy and clean. Breakfast was also ok with friendly personnel and service. I was able to get everything what I wanted. They also serve fresh eggs dishes.

Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst on a business trip. The hotel was full due and I was given a single room on the first floor. The rooms are basic but have all that one might need (kettle). This room was specifically for wheelchair bound persons. It should be noted that it was a little tired in places but did not detract from my stay. Staff are helpful and very courteous.

I was stayed the room which looks inside the Hotel. The room temperature was high and due to direction of the room ventilation via window was not possible. It was quite noisy all the voice at the lobby were coming into the room if you would open the windows. The breakfast where an average should not expect much. Location was good easy to reach city center and public transport.

Kristof, the front desk receptionist was absolutely amazing. Super kind and friendly, really nice staff. Would recommend staying here 10 out of 10. Anytime you come visit the beautiful city of Budapest.

Cons:- Bathroom was dirty, it was not cleaned properly. entire floor had hairs and dirt. All the bath towels are very old. No bathrobe or slippers available for three days stay. Coffee cups where not washed, it was still from previous guests unwashed cups.(We checked in at 11:45 pm). Room Service bar had half used chocolate packets from the other guests. Pros:- Beds are amazing, location is great. You are close to lots of restaurants.

Everything was the best. Although the hotel is old it was quite clean and well designed. The only thing was missing is the toothbrush and slippers which were not available in 4 days we were staying in the hotel. But the rest was great

This is a late post. We stayed at NH in Budapest from 14 September to 17September and our stay was very pleasant. Tamara at the front desk was very helpful especially with restaurant recommendations. We had the best Hungarian meal at the Europa Bistro. The room and hotel was very clean and overall it was a very pleasant stay.

I stayed at NH for a week due to a pre-arranged tour. I wouldn't stay again if I had a choice. 1) The rooms are badly in need of renovation. We were first assigned 722 and it smelled absolutely terrible. Like cigars, smoke, etc. It was strong and no amount of air freshener sprayed by the housekeeping would make it go away. I requested a transfer. Our second room 622 was better, it didn't have a smell and the bed was very comfortable. On day 3, I joined a different room, Room 616 which also faintly smelled of smoke (but not like 722). Your nose gets used to it. Room 616's door didn't close all the way so you need to triple check it. The shower leaks into the bedroom which we complained about and they fixed. For all 3 rooms - the housekeeping does an OK job of keeping it clean but it is not spotless. There are dust bunnies in the corners and under the bed. Needless to say, these rooms really need repair. 2) The service - Tibor and Tamara were amazing. They were helpful and patient and friendly when we were raising the issues with the rooms. They listened to our concerns and acted promptly. We really felt like they cared and we were very appreciative for their help. All the stars in this rating are actually for them. 3) Location - This is a nice location, albeit far from Vorosmarty Ter and St. Stephen's Basilica (which is where we spent a lot of our time). But being that budapest is small, those places are accessible thru public transport, a nice leisurely long walk or taxi. The area after dark it is quiet but still safe to walk around. It seems more an area for locals than tourists. We discovered some nice small coffeeshops in the area that seem frequented more by locals than tourists. 4) Breakfast Buffet - We ate the same buffet for 7 days. The selection was the same every day. By Day 4 i was pretty tired of it. But The food spread is pretty large - there is something here for everyone. It's worth it to get the buffet on busy days so you don't have to think of where to eat.

Great location and overall a nice hotel. Rooms are basic but clean and well equipped. Hotel services are okay with the highlight being the roof top gym and spa. Unfortunately a few gym equipment items were broken. For a weekend or business trip I would reccomend.

The cleaning is erratic, some days it's better than others. I got a room with two single beds put together and two single covers instead of one double, which was inconvenient

Perfect location, walkable to all the highlights in the area. Plenty of public transport, stores & restaurants right down the block. The breakfast buffet is quite large. definitely recommend

The hotel is in a great location. It’s rated as a 4-star hotel, but I don’t see how. It’s somewhat dated. Maybe when it was first opened it was 4-star. The bartender service was terrible. Breakfast buffet was good. For the bedroom, good size. Nice that it had a balcony. Disgusting that the bathroom wasn’t clean (women’s hair on the floor for example). Definitely expect more from NH.

Great location just behind the City Theatre . Big hotel, specious rooms, delicious breakfast ! Different means of transport available when you go out from the hotel. But also you can do everything on foot, walking down beautiful streets of Budapest !

The experience has been more than satisfing. The location was extremely convenient , the front desk was very helpful and kind checking in and checking out and organizing my transportato from and back the airport. I wish I remembered the name of the gentleman at the breakfast room that helped me during the service. I greatly appreciate how I was treated as a guest at this hotel and will return on future trips.

Nice location and facilities. I have stayed twice at this hotel. Would rate the modest breakfast a 3/5. The staff is ok, but the receptionists, from my experience, left some to be desired on helpfulness. I left in the room some clothes - one piece held a lot of sentimental value - and called back a few days later to ask for way to retrieve those items. I was told I would be contacted and I never was. Until I called again a few more days later only to get a flat out answer - from another receptionist - that no items were reported found, only to get rushed. This ruined my experience. I'll be sure to book another hotel on my next business trip to BUD.

Nice hotel in the city center, close to Danube river. Good breakfast. Clean room. Negative aspects: the bathroom has no ventilation and sometimes there is a bad smell. At the reception or in the room would be nice to find some touristic information, a city guide...

Amazing hotel with a perfect location - right in the middle of Budapest. Absolutely wonderful city as well. A place to return.

Stayed here solo during Aug 2021 for 4 nights. The breakfast is incredible, you got fruits, cereal, all types of meat and eggs, a lot of bread types and the coffee machines are absolutely great ! I had a room with a balcony which was refreshing. The Gym was ok (not much weights options) but cardio machines were good. Gotta say thank you for the kitchen’s manager who was super super nice & we talked for a bit and I could see he really cares about the food & about the chefs. As per the location of the hotel - it’s about 3min from lines 6 and 9 (bus and tram) which take you to the super center so it was ok!

I went for just one day to meet the beautiful city of Budapest. The localization of the hotel is great for the ones that are looking for a place in the city center. The rooms are big, clean, and have all the required services. Breakfast was delicious!

Good location, about 100m from the main street, far enough from the noise. Minus, poor ventilation on the bathroom.

Unbeatable location, large and comfortable room, comfortable bed and pillows, phenomenal service. The breakfast in the room service and in the restaurant was among the best we ate anywhere in the world. What a treat! We felt so welcome and pampered from the moment we entered the lobby until the moment we left. The hotel manager is a kind person and has always been around and willing to help with any questions. And his staff created a charming and personal experience at this beautiful hotel. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

We've stayed for one night only but we had the best sleep ever. The rooms are cozy and clean, with a nice view of the interior lobby. Although there is a lot of traffic outside, inside is completely silence which is perfect. Another advantage is the proximity of the nearby public transportation but i also recommend down walking if you want to see more around the city.

This is a nice and clean hotel in a great central location to explore Budapest. Staff are helpful and the breakfast buffet is always great, with so many choices each morning is as unique as you want it to be! Worth considering if you are visiting Budapest.

For the third day in the row at NH hotel City Budapest , the plates and cups in the breakfast room are dirty, with dried food rests on them. And not just one; pick any plate from the buffet and you will see the same. Meanwhile, the kitchen and cleaning staff of NH hotel City Budapest are comfortably hanging out on the street in front of the main entrance smoking cigarettes. “4-star hotel in the NH chain”? “Taking COVID-19 measures seriously”? At least I’m lucky and never need to stay at NH hotel City Budapest again.

Check in took way too long. There were 4x people at the reception, all doing something and yet nothing was moving. Also, ordering a taxi is very complicated and it seems each taxi is ordered per client rather than just per ride. Consequently there were 3x taxis empty and waiting for customers while we waited 25 minutes for the 4th one to arrive. Rooms are OK, interior halls need to be refurbished as there are scratched doors and walls which just look shabby. There was only luke-warm water in the shower in the morning which is unacceptable...

  • 2/5 Kate W. 1 year ago on Google
During a three night stay our room was never cleaned. Cleaners entered to fold duvets but the bins remained full, toilet paper and coffee ran out and were never replenished. Cleaning and sanitation was a 2* standard, When asking staff for help (booking taxis, retrieving luggage, etc) we were told "no we can't help". For the prices charged it was a shocking level of service, even taking post-covid challenges into account.

One of my favourite hotels in Budapest. The staff is extremely friendly, the rooms are super clean and cozy and the breakfast is delicious. There’s also an underground parking lot belonging to the hotel, so you can easily leave your car there. There is just one minor thing, the showers are a bit small, but other than that - simply perfect.

  • 4/5 Kristin 1 year ago on Google
Staff were really kind. Room was spacious, supplied, and clean but floor was sticky. Hotel was quiet. Great water pressure. Decent wifi. Appetizer sandwiches, soup, and drinks were nice. Meal and dessert were okay. Wait time for elevators was a bit too long in the morning hit during the day and night was great. Recommend staying here… Great location. Safe neighborhood!

Are you looking for a fair quality vs. price stay in the city center of Budapest? As a regular customer of NH Hotels I had big expectations regarding my future stay at NH Budapest City. My expectations were exceeded... amazing personnel, clean rooms, well maintained building, just like a jewel of hospitality in the middle of Budapest. Parking available on site or street parking (free in weekends), metro station 5 min walk, plenty of tourist attraction at few minutes walking and why not an Bubi to ride. Breakfast is diverse and fresh ... but coffee... the BEST one I had in a hotel UNTIL NOW. Try NH Rewards and you will have more benefits like I had free late check-out... first time I felt like home and not like in a hurry. Thank you team NH Budapest City, see you soon!

This was my first time in NH Hotel in Budapest and I loved it. Rooms were very clean. You have liquid soap, shampoo, body loation which smelled amazing and was really good. Food was excellent. Waiters and staff were very polite. The whole hotel is very clean which is the most important thing for me. Definitly looking forward to come again.
