This hostel has amazing staff that took the time to get to know all of the guests and took us out and lead us to the best bars. The rooms were clean and the stay was pleasant. Would highly reccommend

Clean bedrooms, clean bathrooms, clean hostel. The bedrooms are spacious, and one of the rooms doesn't have bunk beds. However, the hostel next to a tram line, and the room can get stuffy with the doors closed (so avoid if you are a light sleeper). It's at the edge of the party district, right next to the tram station and a block or two from a metro station, so we could pit stop throughout the day. Generous receptionists and a calm vibe. No complaints here.

Fun, relaxed atmosphere. The guys there are really relaxed and down-to-earth. They had plenty of cookware and kitchenware in the kitchen, and some video games to chill out to in the common room. The bathrooms were always clean and the whole place was decorated very fun. The location is top notch (although it took me a bit to figure out the doorbell). Really enjoyed my stay here, would come back in a second.

It's more a family than a hostel. An amazing place to stay. Convenient location. They have a great kitchen. They have a guitar. Very very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Good location (but loud at night!), everything is a bit rundown

Just want to say a massive thank you to the Gang at Big Fish Hostel Budapest. Was my first solo trip. The team made made me feel super welcome from the get go. Super friendly and hospitable. Nothing was ever too much. I was fed my first evening. Got to try some amazing Korean pancakes. We did fun actives such as painting. They gave me a tour of the palace and castle. Always many suggestions for sights, scenes and food. 10/10 I want to personally thank Diego, Anna, Diana, Fin, Bianca, Nam and other team members (sorry for forgetting names) for everything. Arrived as a stranger and left as a friends thanks guys. Much love. Very friendly environment. Great vibes. Good location. A must stay for any traveller! Much love Tommy x

Friendly and basic hostel. No problems. Nice common kitchen area. Can get anything done here. Wifi works well. Shared form areas are not bunk beds which is nice. But the hostel is on a busy street so if the window is open it can get quite loud.

from the point of view of cleanliness, it's probably one of the best hostel I've ever been to. It's fairly central, well connected to public transport. Staff is nice. Only a minor problem: it seems that it's more a place for partygoers than for "classic" travelers. It may be a little difficult getting some sleep after a whole night on a train - while your roommates arrive at the hostel between 3am and 6am.

Very helpful courteous staff which were mostly volunteers. I originally booked another location but when I showed up the manager wouldn't allow me to stay because I was too old. He said that they only permitted guests between 18-35. They also refused me my refund for my deposit. Big Fish had no age discrimination and was very well treated. Highly recommend them for quick and busy travelers on the go. -Paul

This is the best hostel I have been so far. A friend and I stayed for two nights just after the reopening in July 2022. The rooms have very unique designs and the whole hostel seems like a giant apartment for same minded travelers. Through its size a very familiar space is created. Connecting with other people becomes easy especially through the big and well organised kitchen where everyone can sit, talk, cook and eat together. When we stayed there we played cards with our new friends at 4 am after clubbing the whole night. It was an unforgettable experience.

Really great hostel. It's small and cozy, real family feeling with everyone. Beds are comfortable! And they have great policies that make it a very respectful place to stay without and worries of being bothered by loud noises.

Best for backpackers and for budget tight travellers. Great place to meet new people and hear varied experiences
