Bedbugs and terrible attitude of owner.. Even went as far as to say it’s totally not normal to chill in the common area of a hostel after checkout.. so I guess it was supposed to be my fault that a bedbug literally crawled over me on their makeshift ‘crate couch’ (which looked like it had never been cleaned under at the time of this review) I thought I was very cordial and helpful pointing out I found a bedbug because to just leave and write a bad review (that they may never even read) doesn’t help them solve the problem and hostels easily go out of business when they let bedbugs get out of control.. I found one huge live bedbug crawling over me then making a mistake as I noticed it (and they are probably not what you think they are from urban myths or hearsay) and upon a slightly more thorough inspection found another long dead and dried out one hanging in an old spiderweb over my bunk.. Anyway, bedbugs happen from time to time.. they are harder to control than cockroaches, but I don’t always automatically give a bad review just from their presence alone.. the owners attitude toward me took the cake. Could be a decent place if they didn’t have a total sh*te attitude towards guests safety and comfort..

Its a nice hostel, clean and smart.

The crowd there was rude towards me except a few..they dont have lockers and most people staying there are long term tenants..regret staying here as a solo guest...however if you're with a group it can be fun for you.

Air-conditioned rooms, and a very kind host. The place was okay, although the kitchen and toilets were a little outdated. We preferred eating breakfast in town, but it was easy enough to take a shower. Washing machine available too. The hostel seems to be growing in popularity, though. Recommendable!

Me and my friend had a very good stay here, we met wonderful people, the host Bandi warmly welcomed us and was very nice during all the stay. Beds are good and coffee and tea are free for the morning. Moreover it’s near the center so we used public transport only twice. We truly recommend this hostel.

The best hostel Budapest has to offer, amazingly cool owner, quiet nights and free coffee. Worth way more than the price! 10/10 without a single complaint for this place!

Surprised this place isn’t more popular considering it’s cheap, comfortable, it kinda feels like a guesthouse more so. Wait till u try the vegan goulash too, Bandi does a good job of it.

They should improve the reception in order to accept card. Put more sings to acilitate the location of the hostel.

Bad things: - pictures makes it look like a social hostel. It’s not. It’s rather small and with some permanent residents (over 50 years old) - It was very hard to find, there’s no indications in the street or in the email, so I had to get inside the building after a Wolt guy, then ask a neighbour and even once in front of the hostel’s door, I didn’t know it was the place - the mattress was so thin that I was all the time feeling some bars from the bed in my back. In 60kg and found this problem, can’t imagine people who are heavier… had to find a “comfortable” position and keep it for all night long as it was the only way to be able to sleep. -for 15e per night I could had found something pretty better than that. -I saw a cockroach in the first minute of entering the hostel, where the common “kitchen” was. Good: - friendly staff (that lives there)

People working there is very kind, especially Gabriella, the owner, who can give you the best advices about the city..the building where is located the hostel is quite nice and elegant.

It's a very clean place. Good service, quite, and simple. But hard to find it. No brand of hostel outside. It's on the top floor. We need to press door bell "31" No elevator. There is a small and clean kitchen. They provide towels.

It is a good long term hostel for at least a week of stay. For a relatively cheap price. The place is big and situated in the heart of the city. I came here after momentery separation from wife and found retreat. Have met with other guests who were always nice and friendly.
