Easy hike from Drégelypalánk on well maintained roads. You can see wine cellars along the way. If you wish to park closer to the Castle you can drive to the Schaffer-kút (well/fountain) and there's a dedicated parking space before you reach the well. The castle ruin is well conserved and maintained. The view is spectacular from there.

What a great ruin with an equally as great historic background. The views are fantastic and there is ample room for kids to explore around. Some of the info signs are in english so we got to learn about the castle and area. It's accessible from many trails and as we have a toddler we chose to drive most of the way up. After you exit Route 2 the road is in horrible condition but don't despair as it improves. After about 7km there is a small parking area with signs and a set of stairs across the street - follow these stairs and the trail signs to the castle. It's about 1.5km from the parking to the castle.

I cannot say enough about this small ruin. The hike was amazing, even in December. We ventured up at dusk and caught the sunset with our the children. We have a habit of reading about the castles we visit before we go. The story of this castle ruin is very best as you sit on the terrace at sunset. 146 soldiers defended this castle from 120000 Ottomans for four days before succumbing.

Beautiful hike! It's ruins but still so fun to visit. The view at the top is wonderful.

Excellent inspiring ruins of a medieval castle that had its golden age before the 16th century. 1 hour walk away from train station Safer kut. You can support their foundation to help rebuilding the ruins autenthically.

Nice historical place in the middle of the forest. It's only 15 mins walk from the main road where you can park your car.

Very bad quality roads for about 2 miles. Parking lot is half a mile from the castle. The view is nice, but there are only ruins there.

Be very careful of mosquitoes. They ate us literally, but other than that, it's an incredible place with a fascinating view.

Great hiking path, nicely maintained, and an excellent picnic area at the foot of the hill with car parking. The path is pretty steep at places but definitely worth the view up top and the ambiance of the place.
