Very good market to visit with a lot of food options in the second floor and a supermarket in the underground floor. Strongly recommended.

Wow! and... An amazing market hall, great produce and amazing natural products. Going around the market you can find anything! And upstairs, you find one of the most authentic Hungarian restaurants, serving a wonderful array of mouthwatering food with just the right ambience and warmth. ... I have only one issue with this place. That is the smell of fish coming from the underground level. It took me a while to figure this out, but it kind of ruins the markets life. I do wish there is a solution to this, otherwise, a perfect place!

Everything Budapest can be found in the central market. Paprika galore, souvenirs, fresh sausages, meats and vegetables. It's 100 meters long and filled with shopping stalls. Funf to visit.

I did not expect this place to be so big. The downstairs is filled with butchers, fresh produce, many with alcohol and goose fat. The upstairs however has all your item stalls. From t-shirts, keyrings, magnets, bags, all kinds of souvenir items and more. I recommend you walk around first as many stalls have the same items and some are cheaper. Most are open to haggling so make sure to bring cash to better the deal. The upper corner has a few food stalls to select from too. Very few seating however and from what I've seen a little pricey.

Amazing marketplace! Everything you might want at great prices! We had our first Hungarian street food, Langos!! Fried bread with sour cream, garlic, and cheese. So good! And we bought lots of Hungarian paprika!

Fabulous market, great meat and veg on the ground floor, lovely fabric, souvenirs and hot food upstairs and a good selection of pickles and smiley pickles in the basement around the corner from the aldi store. Definately worth a visit.

Nice hall, but the souvenirs are all about the same

  • 1/5 Kim N. 2 years ago on Google
The old hall is nice but the food upstairs is just horrible and very expensive. It’s not even hot, they just warm them up in the microwave. My langos tastes very dry, cold and hard. I paid 3000 HUF which is way too much.

Spacious and exciting central market. Foods you know and love and always something new! Great ready cooked food on upper level along with souvenirs and handicrafts. The lower level has a few seafood vendors. Worth visiting 🇨🇦

Great covered market in Budapest and absolutely perfect for any day with bad weather. You see many local people doing their shopping, and you can grab a good coffee on the first floor directly above the main entrance.

Great place for fresh vegetables etc. Souvenirs upstairs are good too but don't buy the overpriced food upstairs. Go elsewhere

A must see in Budapest, make sure you stop in one of the street food restaurants for lunch on the first floor. We personally stopped in Fakanál where we enjoyed a delicious Hungarian goulash, all the staff was so friendly and kind, specially Daniel. Hope you don't miss out!
