Bálna, Whale in English, is a building that is remarkable by its silhouette and great location on the river Danube. Housed in what used to be a warehouse or 2, the complex features restaurants, art galleries and a couple of stores. The interior of the complex is still underutilized, years after the completion of the building in 2014. The waterfront section is the most popular. It contains a number of restaurants and cafes with terraces right on the Danube. People gather after work for drinks and dinner.

I don't know the place, I just went once as a tourist but I wouldn't call a shopping centre. There are some restaurants here and also what I would call an exhibition of military history, forgive me if I'm mistaken. It was basically empty and all the stores closed, so I don't recommend the place if you're looking for something to go shopping.

Good restaurants place. But the mall was closed for being easter monday, so we couldnt see inside. The building is a powerfull architectual view from old and modern that compleat each other in perfection. Is was worth walking around it. Many, many restaurants and coffee houses around. Fantastic view over the river.

Nice shopping centre though mainly cafes and restaurants looking over the Danube, not that I'm complaining. It has a lot of special exhibitions, currently one celebrating 175 years of Hungarian army. All the captions were in Hungarian so I didn't understand too much. Lots of interactive exhibits that people were enjoying. I did try but Hungarian instructions foiled me again.

Terrific location on the Danube riverfront. There are shops and places to eat inside and at least 4 locations to eat and drink outdoors as you enjoy the scenic Budapest sights!!

Interesting in the outside and nice looking bars and restaurants but sadly the few shops inside were closed in the day we visited which was a Saturday, so make sure you check first.

This is not a shopping centre as is billed on reviews. It is now military recruitment centre. There are a couple of lovely bars on the river that are part of it but it would be useful if this is not billed as something it isn't in the guide books.

An entire modern building without one shop, there are a few bars on the riverside but otherwise completely empty

Pretty architecture. Nice bars by the river. Clean toilets. The mall itself is weirdly completely empty though

Spectacular architecture, which made the visit worthwhile to take photos. Otherwise, was just very disappointed by the lack of things to do in the building. Other than restaurants and bars on one side of the complex, there were no shops or attractions, so my visit was very brief.

Mostly empty, overpriced and boring Recently part of the "join the military" propaganda with a bigger exhibition The big events center they rent out for company events is good. The rest is a very badly utilized lost opportunity.

No one spoke English not even younger generations which was not really helpful. If you need to ask any questions from people working there you need someone to translate. You can easily park in the garage for couple of days and it’s not expensive.

If you want to see Austro-Hungarian history at military exposition, dont bother. The modern military was open, the WW2 was closed because of „cleaning”, only Austro-Hungarian exposition was behind one window, with two maequins in uniforms

There is only a museum. The top floor was closed so we can not admire the sights and there is no open shop. Saturday morning. No sense to come here if you are located far.

A great place to have drinks with a perfect Danube view. Harmonization of glass and stone on the building itself is a must see architecture

Empty space, full of nothingness. Not sure what is the point of this building's existence other than breeding mosquitos. There are 3 bars by the building and that's it, but you don't need to enter the bar from inside the building. It is more convenient to access it directly from the riverside.

Beautiful building, no longer a shopping mall. Has a few restaurants facing the river and a military museum (free) inside. Used to house many shops, but according to one of the military museum guides, they were all asked to leave just before covid hit… by the mall owner… and he said “ as if they knew something “.

Huge place. Variety of many shops. Nice place you can eat food and buy Hungarian made gifts. You can eat food. Most shop keepers almost all ask for cash Euro or local currency Hungarian Forint. You can some time bargain wit the shop keepers.

Smallish mall shaped like a whale, came here for an evening event and we really enjoyed it. Be sure to drop by the in-house pub for some good local craft beer.

Love this contemporary building. Nice to see it from Buda's hills or riverside. Inside bars and restaurants, some designers' shops, but also quite a few empty stores. It's usually quiet and very clean, toilets as well. There's a very relaxing lighting and atmosphere, so it's a pleasure to walk through while strolling along the Danube. I find it fits in harmoniously with the surroundings.

Esetleg bistro is a good place but the servic was so slow and i have to asked them twice to check our orders. The pumpkin soup was delicius but not warm enough. I wasn't satisfied with the service

It’s not touristic place. When you go to Budapest with a tour agency, probably this place will not be one of your stops. But since it’s really close to city centre, you may easily arrive there by a short walking (almost 15-20 min from Deakter). You will meet stores with different designed-souvenirs and their designers. Café and restaurants by Duna welcome you! One of must-to-see places of Budapest.

Nice cost place to spend an evening at. The view of the sunset over the Gellért Hill is amazing. Alao the shopping complex is a good place to explore. If you are here in winters then maybe you can also try ice skating here its a ton of fun..
