Went to see fatboy slim. Great venue and reasonably priced drinks. On 1st November I visited the museum. It was free of charge and the trains to ride were charged. You can ride on a variety of different trains. Very interesting and fascinating finding out about all the different trains and how they work 😀

Really fun place for people of all ages, not just kids. They have trains from Hungarian stock from around 1940s to present day, all laid out in historical trainyard. They also have the res star engine, a classic. Many places on site for some food, drinks. Bathrooms also available. Can reach it by tram or bus in about 30 minutes from city center. Highly recommend.

It was a hot Saturday, so not so many people. Very friendly staff! When we entered they told us that we need to pay extra for the interactive things, which of course we had no idea if we will be interested or not. But we were. We rode on the small train, on the steam engine and on the handcar. All was really cool. And we enjoyed checking out all the different trains as well. It was a day enjoyed by adults and children as well.

Had a lot of fun walking around and seeing some of the vintage railway cars and locomotives. Would have liked to know more about what we were seeing however aside from the title, everything was only in Hungarian. Definitely not a place that caters to foreign tourists but a cool place to wander for a couple hours nonetheless.

Very cool Railway museum! Lot’s of objects, that you observe from the outside and then go in. A lot of locomotives starting from the old ones with steam engines up to quite modern equipment. There are souvenir shops and cafe ot the territory. Also you can ride scale model trains through the territory.

One of the best museums I've ever visited, locomotives brings out the curious kid in all of us! It's an old railway maintenance park full of scores of historic engines and wagons from different eras, including those pumpy things cartoon characters use to go up and down the track. There is also an old dining car from the Orient Express as well as a huge model train that you can ride around the park on. The engine "garage" is now a kind of exhibition hall where the Budapest Mineral Show was taking place. You can climb in and around most of the engines, prepare to be amazed!

Wow, a place full of history. They have everything from steam trains, to diesel trains, to electrical trains, they even have cars that are made to go on the railway. They offer a ride trough the museum on a train, or you can operate a diesel locomotive. The place is nice and it is worth to bring the kids here.

Wonderful experience. My two teenage sons and I had a great time at the railway museum. We viewed all the wonderful trains, did all the extra activities like riding on the steam locomotive, and even got a little extra 'insider' tour of some of the trains after we struck up a conversation with the friendly and dedicated volunteers. Highly recommend the short trip to come here. Google maps got us here easily using the local commuter train.

Great to see old trains, especially the Red Star trains. Many trains you can climb into. Friendly staff at coffee shop. Alcohol and some meals for sale. Ice creams. Good value at the moment.

Interesting place not only for railway fans but families and couples as well. A lot to see and feel about the past and present of the Hungarian Railway Company (MAV). Don’t miss the chimney cake inside as it was one of the best ones I’ve ever tasted and can be payed by card as well. :)

Wonderful place to visit. You will enjoy it, doesn’t matter if you are 3, 33 or 99 years old. With our 3 year old we spent there about 5h and fully enjoyed it. Area is well maintained and clean. There are lot of engines / locomotive and all other railway staff. Prices are reasonable. There is a free parking. You can pay with card at main ticket counter. For souvenirs cash only. For sure we’ll come back. BTW, I’ve never seen so much people with AS (including myself) in one place;)

(Translated by Google) I didn’t think so, but I really liked it not just the kid, but every member of the family. There is an interactive part of the park, several locomotives can be entered and climbed. Extra services (drive, mini train ride) are also good. There is a chimney cake-lángos buffet + a place called Passenger Feed, which is more of a restaurant. I will write my opinion after the fall closing, I hope it will be useful for next season as well.

(Translated by Google) The 5 year old twins really enjoyed it. The railroad faithfully reflects history. They could climb the big trains, get on the small trains, lap 1-1. It must be reckoned with that many are curious about this. There was no parking problem. (Original) Az 5 éves ikrek nagyon élvezték. A vasút történetet hűen tükrözi. Felmászhattak a nagy vonatokra, ráülhettek a kis vonatokra, 1-1 körre. Számolni kell vele hogy sokan kíváncsiak erre. Parkolási gond nem volt.

(Translated by Google) There are many attractions in the park, but a few things cannot be visited due to the current situation. Even so, I don't know how many stars to give ... it should be 3 or 4. The reason is simple. As usual, since it is not a stadium listed at the entrance, very few things are maintained or just renovated to their merits. These tools do not deserve to be ignored. The tools and objects of history, which existed and will exist independently of everything, if they are not allowed to disappear for our descendants to see. It’s sad to see the plethora of tools that go to waste because they don’t have careful hands and don’t spend money on it.

Great place for trainlovers and for families with young kids also. Apart from a great variety of great locomotives there is a lovely ride on train and two rooms with modelist dioramas. My only consideration is that the signs should be in English too. It was a real pitty that we couldn't read and understand the story of each locomotive

It could be a super nice place, if the management would be passionate. We went to Nicholas Express, by train to the park. The train was ugly, not even close to clean and with lots of mistakes, not proper working doors... The park it self was nice, with good programs for the kids, but not really putting much into decorating for christmas....

If you like trains and you happen to be in Budapest, don't miss this place. There are a lot of exhibits a train enthusiast will love, you can go on a very narrow gauge train ride, and see and control a model train set - these last two at a small extra cost, though. The gentleman who looked after the model railway knew a lot about trains and model trains and was really friendly too. There is an 'Utasellàtò' - oh the nostalgia, I can smell the 'krumpliszirom' - where you can get a decent cold beer and some simple bar foodie kind of plate of food. A kids menu is also available, but don't expect more than fishfingers with chips. And the vegetarian option was probably 'ràntott sajt'. But there was nothing wrong with the quality of the food overall if you don't expect fine dining. The website is good and tells you a lot about the place in advance, so it is worth checking out prior to your visit to know what to expect. Some exhibits may not be available on the day. The shop was a bit of a let down, though. There were a lot of train themed things but no model trains for example.

It is a lovely park where there are so many old railways machines, a very good program with children. There is a really small train, the children and their parents could sit onto the small cars, and the train will go around the park. Not only the toddlers but the teenagers and the parents, grandparents also will enjoy it. There is a moderate playground in the park. The boys will really enjoy to go up the old (very old) steam machines, you will have problem to go home when the park is closing. A big, free parking place is just next to the park.

It's been a pleasure visiting this open air museum. The entrance was free for the day, although if you wanted to take part in interactive programs there was a fee. The place was packed with families, until a terrible downpour interrupted the Sunday afternoon fun. For this reason, I will most certainly be back to continue the visit. I still was able to admire many trains (some even inside, for me the best part) and be on the rotating platform! It's a pity some trains are a bit left to decay and are in need of more care they are given. I would have appreciated if more wagons were open to enjoy. Just a few things are written in English.

I've been there for a conference in November. The weather was very sunny that day and so the place and then weather play together very well. I had not much time for visiting the entire area, but the way from the main entrance to the venue gave me a glimpse at some trains and the buildings. They were simply amazing. Old but fully renovated. I simply couldn't believe that the conference was in such a historical place. I promised myself that the next time I'm in Budapest I'm going to visit it again. Till next time.

It's a good railway museum. It's very entertaining for kids but some trains are in bad condition. The covered showroom have several unique and nice trains. Under 3 is free and in front on the museum free parking.

(Translated by Google) Very good program, either with or without kids. One hundred stadiums, thousands ... (Original) Nagyon jó program, akár gyerekekkel, akár nélkülük. Sajnálatos látni viszont, hogy a magyar vasúttörténet utolsó, egyetlen darabjai, (Kandó öröksége, stb.) a szabad ég alatt várják sorsuk jobbra fordulását. Száz stadiont, ezeret...

(Translated by Google) Nicely maintained park, interactive programs. There is a snack bar, but picnics are also possible in the outdoor pavilions. Train enthusiasts are recommended for young and old alike. :) (Original) Szépen rendben tartott a park, interaktív programok. Büfé van, de piknikezés is lehetséges a kihelyezett pavilonokban. Vonatrajongó kicsiknek és nagyoknak is ajánlott. :)
