It is homeless long term accommodation. Those who stay for a long time are not travelers. They create a dirty smell. The accommodation is better than the price. Great location and bathrooms are enough. However, the dirty smell made from them in a room that is not ventilated is very dirty. They are mostly men. Women can feel fear. If you are a woman alone, do not go.

An horrible Hostel: dirty, unsafe, free access from the outside, rooms without doors, beds without covers, pots between beds and the walls. But there's other to say: the guy at the reception is helped by other two guys (maybe more) and this is a group of very disreputable persons. I arrived in this real nightmare hostel in the morning and I asked the boss at the reception to leave my luggage there without costs -this possibility had been clearly stated in a welcome email sent by the structure- but the guy told me that this email was old and not anymore valid and I should have paid other 10 euros to park my stuff there. In the afternoon the guys at the reception told me that the POS to pay wasn't functioning and therefore one guy of this group brought me to some ATM to withdraw money, and he saw clearly where I kept my wallet. Then I left the Hostel to visit Budapest and outside the Hostel I met a group of Spanish girls that were leaving the Hostel because they saw some strange things happened inside and they couldn't trust anymore the people inside the Hostel. When I returned back to the Hostel after midnight the following day, I saw that my stuff was moved by someone, but apparently nothing had been stolen. Then I began sleeping but when I woke up I checked again my wallet and I saw that around 160 euros were missing and therefore I rushed to the reception but the guy there was very unpolite and uncollaborative and unrespectfully slapped in my face. Then I was obliged to call the local police and to report everything what happened. Furthermore I saw that one credit card that I kept in my wallet was used at around 6 hrs in the night by one of these dishonest guys, it is highly probable that he was the same guy that came with me the previous day to withdraw money and the same guy that I saw walking around in my dormitory room when I was sleeping. These guys should feel ashamed of themselves, and I hope that this Hostel will be closed permanently by the police.

Awful awful place! Stay away! I’m a solo female traveller and arrived late past the check in time. The guy at reception asked me to go in the office to check in. His office was also his disgusting bedroom really dirty and messy everywhere. He tried to get me to smoke with him and when I said no and got up to leave, I found he had locked the door without me knowing. He laughed and said it was a tricky door then showed me to my room where two guys were sleeping. I don’t know if they were homeless or what but I did not feel safe around any of them. I hope everyone stays safe on their travels!

Don’t go there, the pictures are not real. You can notice it’s kind of a long term homeless acomodation. If you’re a girl, please don’t go, we were 3 girls and we couldn’t sleep there, there’s a lot of disturbing mans watching you and being disrespectful. Also it’s full of smoke inside and smell of cigarretes, so disturbing. We prefered to lose money and go to another hostel instead of staying there.

It's a long term homeless accomodation, just as all the other reviews say. Wouldn't recomend to anyone, especially for women. They have signs around the hostel telling men to not harass female guests. The rooms are dirty, furniture is old, no comfort whatsoever. Stay away from this place. Receptionist was drunk he attacked us for just knocking the door.

Got kicked out for simply existing at 11 pm. Please don't go there. The reasons for getting kicked out delivered through us through a guest acting as an interpreter (and by 5 "guests" - sketchy homeless Hungarians), because the receptionist refused to talk English were: -not paying deposit (we did) -not paying stay (we were told on check in the transaction will be done automatically) -not doing check in (we did, have them passports and everything) -leaving after check in without telling them (is this a prison? more likely a rehab centre to be honest) and leaving our keys in the room (we didn't) -our booking website failing to transmit the information (it said the booking is done) also my bed was not changed (you could see someone laid in it + hair) and everything was very dirty

The best: beds are confortable. I mean, at first sight I was quite of concern about the hostel but at the end I slept well and had a nice stay. It is not a youth hostel for sure, people there are mostly around their 40s. The hostel can be old but it is clean. There is always paper in the toilet. The toilets and the showers are in the same room. There is a hair dryer available. The kitchen was kind of dirty but to say the truth I never used it.

Not the best, not the worst. Visited on August 2018 for 5 nights. Location: Very convenient. The underground train was 5 only minutes away, and there were several bus stations nearby as well. Only 20 minutes away from the Parliament and river if you choose to walk. A currency conventer and a nice super market were close. The Westend Mall was also within 5 minutes of walking distance. Establishment: The building was old. Having arrived around 22:00 at night, it did feel a little scary, but only on the first night, until we got used to it. The rooms were okay. Nothing special but nothing too bad. We had reserved a 10 people room but ended up in a 12 people room. It didn't bother us much, but it is worth to note. They provide you with a locker key for 5 euros, but you get the money back after you return it. There was no A/C or fan, so we had to depend on the window to cool the room, though it wasn't too hot. The kitchen was alright, again, nothing too special. The bathrooms were average and clean enough. The main problem with them was that there were around 4 of them (male/female separated) for the whole hostel. There were also some people making noise almost every night in the kitchen and no one told them a thing, so if that sort of thing makes you unable to sleep, it may be a problem. Staff: This is the hard part. There were usually two guys in the reception. Their english wasn't the best and even though they tried to help us whenever we asked for something, it always felt like we were bothering them (not welcoming at all). They couldn't tell us where to exchange money and they didn't recommend us anything or help us reserve certain things we wanted to do (like they usually do in hostels), so we had to figure everything out by ourselves. There were some maps you could take on the reception though. When we arrived, they didn't let us pay separately either. There was another guy who we saw once or twice. He was more willing to help us than them. There was also a lady who we only saw once and also spoke on the phone with. She is probably the boss there, and she was the most helpful. Her english was great, she was welcoming and she helped us print our tickets for the Parliament, we were really lucky she was there when we needed her. If the rest of the staff were like her, this review would be 4 stars. Overall, it was a good value-for-money place. It isn't as bad as other reviews describe, but it isn't the best either. We only spent our nights there, as we were busy sightseeing the rest of the time, and if you want to do just that, it's a good deal. If I visited again, I'd search for another place, but if I couldn't find something else nearby in my price range, I'd visit again. I recommend this place only to those who don't need much to be satisfied and who won't be bothered by the things I mentioned.

This place was dirty as hell. I saw how one of the guys working there made the bed where someone else sleeped and 5 minutes later shows another guest that that’s his bed. They DONT clean the sheets or pillows. Very dirty and bathroom is together men and woman. Smells like piss and very noisy

Good summary of this place. You want to be woken up by the staff in the middle of the Night or maybe have a charming chat with the loud alcoholics in your room? You have come to the right, very very dirty place.

I didn't feel safe. I had the impression that this is as said below by many, long term homeless accommodation. I stayed 1 night only and decided to move to another hostel...

On the first day of my stay, I literally almost got into a fight with one of the long-termers/workers in the room and the staff was there to watch and did nothing about it instead of kicking him out just because my backpack was in a place where this guy didn't want it (it wasn't even in his way and he just wanted to start issues). This hostel houses a huge group of Romani locals who all know each other and team-up to make the lives of travelers who stay here miserable. When one of the couples first came into the room, they played this loud music and even left without even caring about whether it affects me or not. I also noticed some expensive clothing missing from my backpack after walking around the city. After they came back, another guy entered into the room who wanted to fight me right away outside because my backpack was apparently in a wrong spot. They then wanted me to leave immediately at check-out time even though I was out of the bed in the common room waiting to go to the next hostel. I felt extremely uncomfortable at this hostel and didn't even want to go into the common room in the evening because they all team up against you. I initially saw some bad reviews for single girls staying here because it is nothing but guys so I figured, fair enough, I am not a female and don't have to worry about the locals trying get with me, but surely was I wrong. I would never stay again here even if you could pay me! Do yourself a favor and skip this hostel for it isn't suitable at all!

Very centrally located. Poor room conditions, bathrooms aren't too clean and there is a foul smell in the passages. You need to pay extra for washing your clothes and if you would like to keep your luggage in the luggage room. More importantly, if you are looking for a good vibe and want to hang around with youth, this is not the right place.

This place is not what it is advertised as. Yes it’s a budget hostel but what you get isn’t even that. They do have a cleaner so the place is ‘cleaned’ but it’s dirty overall. The walls , the beds, the bathrooms. The staff barely speak English. We were so unsatisfied with our stay that while we had booked for 10 nights we left after the first, none of our money was returned to us. This place is the worst accommodation that either me or my friends has ever seen ever.

The place was terrible and super old, the only person that saved it was Dr. Berta in our room. How is she doing?

Convenient walking distance from Bucarest city center, there is no denying this is a traditionalist place and the feel of all art decor makes it feel a proper. Legit worth the whole trip there.

We wanted to check in but left after less than 30 minutes. There are no backpackers or some other kind of travelers there. Only junkies and old women living there. Noone speaks english there. Pictures from the internet are not from that hostel!

Easily the most unpleasant and rude service I have seen in my life. First the guy was laying on a bed and after seing me still did not stand up. Then he managed to be rude even with his broken English. Never again.

The place was clean and the service was good. Most of the mess comes from people who don't clean after themselves. Staff is helpful but not all of them know English.

I've traveled stayed in hostels all over the world and try to leave reviews about the better ones. This is definitely one of the best. Not the easiest to find (trust your google maps!) Located walking distance to public transportation. Priced well. (Not a loud party social place, so if you are looking for that you might consider one closer to the downtown area) I liked it because I had the dormitory to myself for four days (it was in late September 2015 and not peak tourist season) I liked the peacefulness. The staff were extremely polite and very helpful in finding stuff like motorcycle rental companies. They also gave me suggestions of where to visit and how to get there on a map. I totally trusted them. Thank you Janet! Budepest was such a wonderful place to visit and I can't wait to go back. (Check out Szimpla for some cool art and beer/nightlife) Happy Travels!

A hotel in the center of Budapest is a reliable choice when you are looking for a top starting point to discover this wonderful city. The hotel has beautiful and modern rooms. The staff is very friendly, helpful and happy to help with advice that makes it easier to discover the city and stay in it. I absolutely recommend!

If you don't have much money and great requirements you can stay here. But the wall plugs may not be in the wall, so you might get shocked by electricity, and the beds ... they just are. They could be worse, but they could be much better too. Toilets are shared with others, I mean almost even with ladies. Staff is quite nice, let's say ...

  • 2/5 Gino Franco F. 6 years ago on Google
Not so close to city center (not so far either) Not clean enough (specially the kitchen and the bathrooms) They only have two toilettes and two showers for men, for the whole hostel; one of the toilettes doors doesn't have a lock, and the showers don't have hot water. The rooms don't have a key, and I got stolen 7000 florines (around €20), though It was probably my fault. Just be careful. When I got there the room's lights weren't working (they fixed it right away), but the same night the bathrooms light were off too, so maybe they have some electricity issues. The staff is not bad, but they could improve.
