Let's be real. You've been to Altair, to Sirius and Vörös Oroszlán. And don't get me wrong, they are great tea houses (see my reviews!). But, if here is one place in Budapest that's aimed for authentic tea enthusiasts (or enthusiasts of authentic tea!) this is it. 🍵 The owner is visibly passionate about tea and happy to share this knowledge in a non-patronising way recommending teas to fit your preferences and mood. Even if you're not familiar with any tea or with gong fu brewing, you won't feel out of place here. 💕 In Zhao Zhou, savouring tea is a full experience, where the choice of tea is just one part of it. A lot of attention is paid to the atmosphere created with a soothing decor and to the journey that drinking tea can become. (I don't mean to sound mystical 😂). Whether alone or with a fellow tea-fan, reserve minimum 1.5 hours for a tea-savouring visit. Let yourself for once do something mindfully and see how spacious your mind will feel afterwards. (Ok, I'm mainly giving this advice to myself here.)

Excellent place to take a great tea and learn all things involved in that art. Owner is a excellent guy with a huge knowledge about tea. We took the tea experience and that experience was fantastic. Worth to pay the quality.

Extremely professional and welcoming staff. Pricey teas, but worth the experience. Plus, learned a lot about teas! Will be back!

This was easily the best tea experience of my life - highly recommend it if you have any interest in tea. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and generous with his time, which made a big difference as I just popped in when traveling alone. The pu'er tea was fantastic and I was surprised I easily spent 90 minutes in the shop. The prices were also very reasonable. I'll definitely stop by again if I'm in the area.

There is certain a magic about shops with restrictive opening hours. I came to know Zhao Zhao after I drank one of their teas (Formosa Assam from Taiwan 🇹🇼) at Espresso Embassy in 2019. That tea was so good that I've been ordering from Zhao Zhao for the last few years. In the summer of 2022 I finally managed to visit their lovely store in Budapest and tried out what is now one of my favourite oolongs: the Li Shan 1,800m from Taiwan. They are expensive but also unique and quality-oriented.

Fantastic little tea shop with an extensive range of loose leaf teas, home-made bakery items, tea accessories, as well as books on tea. Service is attentive and knowledge of staff is spot on to guide one towards suitable choices. Freshly brewed tea is available to enjoy on site or to-go. Not to be missed if one is a tea aficionado.

Maybe the best place in Budapest and definitely the best teahouse. Quality of tea is amazing. Design of the place is superb, minimalistic and cozy. And, of course, very friendly staff. Exceptional experience, highly recommended.

Awesome place to drink high quality Chinese, Japanese or Taiwanese teas. The choice of sheng puers are huge. The interior design and vibe of this place is the best in town. There are only two tables inside so one might want to make a resarvation to secure the place.

By far the best tea shop in the city, it is it's own league. The quality of the teas are unmatched, the teaware is exquisite. The owner and the employees have a knowledge about teas few can call their own. A must if you are a tea enthusiast!

The staff is very kind and knowledgable. Our visit to this tea house was a very relaxing experience. Does that sound odd? Then you need to pay this place a visit! ;)

What a fantastic place! The tea shop has an unofficial, cozy atmosphere. The staff is super nice and very knowledgeable. They will make you feel welcome and help you with your tea selection, so you don't have to worry even if you aren't a tea expert. The tea, of course, is amazing. I've never had such good Pu'Erh like here before. Coming here was truly an experience, can't recommend it enough.

Lovely staff and really knowledgeable. We just wanted some break and tea and came across this place. The reviews don’t lie.

Absolutely amazing place to rest and sip on authentic tea. I got the tea set (also comes with mooncake and some dried dates to pair with), and left this place feeling truly at peace for the first time in awhile. The owner also had lived in China before and is extremely knowledgeable about all the different teas. Limited hours, so perhaps making a reservation would be a good idea. This place is a gem!
