😐 Definitely don't go out of your way for this. We did after it was included with spa tickets and regret that. It's a small room with info and a tiny bar, a stretch to call it a museum. A visit to Budapest wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Palinka Experience. They have a tasting menu for everyone, and the staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and engaging. And if you don’t like Palinka, don’t worry. They have plenty of other spirits. Zsofi was the best hostess, Adam a great bar tender, and Laura made the BEST lychee gin and tonic. Will be back tomorrow!

Excellent tasting experience but catastrophic shopping one ! I bought 1 bottle and when coming back,I realized price was doubled versus what is on their website. Went back to shop and what a surprise to hear that priced had just been increased ( by 100% really ??) . I presented then a new bottle online half price …. But got a message then that products online were in fact not available (which is false as they are available in the physical shop which is same with online store stock ). So be careful on prices and transparency !!

We received a very warm welcome and had an opportunity to take a dive into various tastes of palinka. There really is plenty to choose from. They're also pet friendly :)

It was one of our best experiences in Budapest. If you want to try something typical from the city, this visit must be in your checklist. Moreover our guide Sophie was very nice and explained everything perfectly what enriched our visit. Totally recommendable for tourists!!!

This place tells the true story about the famous Hungarian spirit. Its really fun on a rainy day, or a great evening starter as you get to taste the true Fruit spirits.

Definitely don't go out of your way for this. We did after it was included with spa tickets and regret that. It's a small room with info and a tiny bar, a stretch to call it a museum. If you're in the area check it out! But don't if you're not. Writing this review as description is misleading and honestly really surprised by the high reviews. Palika is great! And a must try in Budapest though. Hope this place expands to make it more worth it or focuses on the bar part, maybe tastings? We went more for the museum part and were quite disappointed.

This place has an amazing selection of high end Palinka and some cheap ones too. I am a big fan of Palinka and this is a great way to for newcomer to the Hungarian National drink to learn to love it too. My favorite one is the Williams Red 🍐 Pear. It's smooth and delicious!

Yesterday i were here with my man for the palinka museum, it was such a great experience. The guy that gave us the tour was so nice and he made it a very interesting story. We didn't know palinka before, but now it's a very meaningful drink for us. We definitely recommend this museum if you wanna get a taste of the hungry culture! ;)

It's a very small place but you will find a fantastic intro to the Palika world. If you save an our in your Budapest trip, go for a visit there. The guide will share your passion and knowledge of this spirit

Museum part is very poor and no tour guide at 21:30... Just had to read a few information posters by ourselves, that's it... Would not recommend buying tickets for museum. However the tasting experience was nice. We each had 6 different palinkas and there is far more to taste if you wish 👍

Kinda dissapointing, food isn't great. The museum was kinda on the side of a bar didn't offer a tour or any tastings, not really worth seeing

The presentation was amazing! It was nice to hear more about the history of something so popular and tasty. Eszty put so much effort to make the whole museum part interactive and compelling! :) The degustation was the best part of it, of course! Definitely recommending!

The museum itself is small - but covers everything you need to know. The bar staff/workers however are brilliant. Friendly, accommodating and most of all passionate. Our bartender knew everything about Pálinka there is to know - including what we'd like based off similar tastes. The Pálinka I tried there completely changed my mind about Pálinka - especially the small but fantastic cocktail menu.

I had a chance to taste the wine handcrafted from Hungary and it's good strong. The museum showed all the history and the process. The staff was friendly and the location was easy to find

Came here by chance and had a great experience. Tried the Premium Set and got some palinkas I liked, and others not that much :) After that requested some opinions on other good flavors and the quince one was well recommended and the pear also. Waiters really nice. Aszti and Kevin were great. I'll come back when at Budapest.

We came here for the Palinka Experience (a small museum +a 2cl tasting) and stayed to have our stomachs refilled. The baked chiken thighs were just perfect; the red wine beef stew made us feel like visiting the grandma's (and the accompanying Palinka only enhanced the feeling). The prices were quite fair. The taste and the serving design were also quite good. The food menu is brief but the drinks menu is huger than you can imagine (mostly Pálinka as you could guess). We'll gladly come back next time we are in BP. The service of Naomi was amazing, as well as the drinks paring advice from Kevin. Thank you, guys! (Also for the few Eminem tracks)

A really nice experience for the wine tasting paired with cheese and meat board. We were guided by Adam who was very friendly and explained what we were being served along the way. I recommend this.

We went to the museum - it was included in our Budapest city card. I think the presentation was very interesting. At the end of the tour we were given a shot of pálinka (it was such a miniscule amount literally thought it was dirty glass). At the end we didn't eat there but the menu looked interesting.

This is establishment offers a wonderfully educational short tour on palinka. The exhibit is small but well thought out. The staff is absolutely lovely. We tried a package with quite a few tastes and loved the pear. This is a great stop in the city.

Visited with the Budapest card. Great because it opens so late so can visit during the night. Free palinka with the card. Learned about the production of palinkas. Apricot palinka is the locsl favourite.

I had absolutely no familiarity with palinka before coming here and I had a blast. Myself and my partner found the staff extremely friendly and generous with their time. They discussed different flavours, their favourites, made recommendations. We tried quite a few, and can attest that there's massive variety in the experience of trying palinka. Heartily recommend the quince or the cherry/raspberry blend!

We went here on a thursday and the museum and the bar weren‘t busy at all, so we‘ve got to experience Kinga‘s and Laura‘s excellent knowledge about Pálinka. They guided us through the tasting and helped us choose our perfect Palinka to take home. The combination of learning about the production and history of Pálinka and tasting it afterwards is such a nice experience, i would really recommend coming here to experience Hungarys tradition ;)

  • 5/5 Vivian M. 1 year ago on Google
It was a really nice experience! I loved to try different kinds of Palinka and to learn more about it, Sophie definitely made the experience much better by being so friendly, explaining everything and recommending different flavours! Thanks, cheers from Brazil and Spain!

  • 5/5 Daniel H. 11 months ago on Google
Flora and Kinga took us an exciting journey of palinka! Even before we began tasting anything, we were given a chance to smell many types of palinka - pear, cherry, apricot, grape, quince, and even ginger, carrot, and beet root. Even for the same fruit palinka, we were given the chances to taste palinkas from different distilleries to fully appreciate the nuances of the rich Hungarian palinka history. Thank you so much for a night of cultural fun!

  • 5/5 Pavlína M. 11 months ago on Google

  • 5/5 Gaby B. 10 months ago on Google
Valentin and Regina were our tour guides and they were absolutely amazing!! Such a surreal and interesting experience. A MUST visit where you learn about the Hungarian culture as well as understand the Palinka destillation process. Definitely worth your time!! Go and enjoy the experience for yourselves!

There is a lot more to Pálinka than you would think and I believe this to be the best place to discover it. Unfortunately the museum itself has seen better days, is quite small and doesn't provide with much information. But what the exhibition is lacking is fully made up for by the great staff so make sure to attend one of the tours! I had the opportunity to be guided by Kinga who made sure we had ample info about every aspect of the spirit and the making process. I loved the tasting and how Kinga was able to describe each of the different aromas I was made to try. Ask for the richer flavours of Apricot or Red William's pear!

  • 4/5 Layheon T. 1 year ago on Google
Fantastic concept of a bar-cum- museum. More places should be doing this—-it adds an interactive element to the whole experience. Also Bought a small bottle of Palinka Apricot and a Gyulai Palinka Aged Apricot; for 12,000 Forints. A bit pricey since when I googled it, it was significantly cheaper elsewhere. Other than that—good place.

We went here on a short, guided tour hosted by the museum. The building itself is gorgeous, with exposed bricks and beautiful lighting. The tour was informative and fun, and the palinka we tried at the bar was way better than we expected. Very aromatic and smooth. Adam was our guide and also in charge of the bar, and he's extremely likeable and fun to talk to. We had many questions, coming from another country with a similar traditional drink, and he was great at answering them all. Would recommend to anyone!

  • 5/5 Aisling S. 1 year ago on Google
Unexpectedly interesting. It came included with another tour we had booked, but very glad to have visited. The tours are at specific times but you can walk around yourself, read the signage and ask the staff at the end if you have any questions (they were very helpful and knowledgeable).

We went here in February and I forgot to leave a review at the time. I have had such a good experience that even after so many months I felt the need to share. Firstly the guy who was our guide and bartender was absolutely lovely and so so knowledgeable. Best experience ever, he even recomended places to visit that we went to the next day and had a great experience. Keep it up, I undestand why with people like that working there you have so many amazing reviews. Also, the interactive games were a great, fun and innovative idea of learning about palinka (and I don't even like the taste of it :)) )

Really nice place! If you want to learn a bit about Palinka and Hungarian history, this is the place to go.
