Museum of Hungarian Applied Folk Art

Tourist attraction Art museum

😠 I had high hopes for a museum of applied folk art, but was disappointed. The museum is one room with limited items. It was not worth the entrance fee. People often mention folk, beautiful,

If someone is looking for external glamour, they won't find it here. Here, the brilliance is the inner values, which are selflessly shared with those applying for the sessions! You can learn almost everything related to folk customs and traditions. I was on a napkin embroidery day, but you can learn how to bake gingerbread or make Christmas decorations... It's a good program for both children and adults, but it's best together!😊

I don't mean to be rude, but I'm truly not sure why this place is open to the public and charging entrance fee. Upon entering, the attendant seemed surprised to see me. He explained it was only one exhibit, I said OK, payed 1500ft and he took me in and turned on the lights for me. The lights were off, no one else was there. He turned on the lights for me! The exhibit was high-concept/ runway-fashion dresses of wool. Took me 10 minutes to really study them. No basketry, no pottery, no embroidery, no woodworking. On my way out, he was nice enough to let me use the toilet and I spied some old looms in a conference room and he let me look at them. 1 star for the exhibit/museum, 1 more for the nice guy. He said he didn't know when the larger historical collection would be available again, said lots of museums are closed now (didn't explain a reason), and skeptically suggested I try the Ethnographic Museum.

(Translated by Google) This is a museum, it belongs to my workplace. So I may be a little biased, but I think it’s worth watching the exhibitions because a lot of beauty can be seen. The XII. Exhibition of the National Folk Crafts Competition. You can see beautiful folk art products. 😊 (Original) Ez a múzeum, a munkahelyemhez tartozik. 😊

The exhibitions are beautiful, spectacular and extensive. I like coming here, the environment is good, the people who work here are also very kind and helpful. There are many interesting programs to choose from, and all kinds of folk crafts can be learned here in the open workshop. I recommend to everyone! The exhibitions are beautiful, outstanding and cover many fields of art. I love to come here, the staff is nice and very helpful. You can choose from a lot of activities in open workshops where folk crafts can be learned as well. I absolutely recommend it!
