The
Casanova
House
stands
next
to
the
Batthyány
Square
market
hall.
The
history
of
the
Rococo-style
building
dates
back
to
the
18th
century.
can
be
traced
back
to
the
beginning
of
the
century.
In
1767,
it
already
operated
as
a
White
Cross
inn
and
probably
a
couple's
house,
and
since
the
post
coaches
left
for
Vienna
from
the
neighboring
street,
many
people
came
to
stay
here,
including
such
famous
people
as
II.
Emperor
Joseph,
Maria
Theresa,
or
the
legendary
figure
of
the
time,
Giacomo
Casanova.
In
other
words,
the
building
has
more
than
250
years
of
catering
history!
But
what
is
the
past
if
it
is
not
present?
In
1967,
a
few
steps
below
the
level
of
the
square,
the
modern
history
of
the
place
began,
as
a
cult
revelry
of
socialism,
as
well
as
the
Casanova
bar,
where
Jimmy
Zámbó
performed
several
times
as
a
bar
musician
at
the
end
of
the
80s,
at
the
beginning
of
his
career.
In
1987,
it
was
the
nightclub
of
the
year.
Along
with
the
regime
change,
it
went
bankrupt
in
1990.
They
tried
to
revive
it
in
2000,
but
it
closed
after
just
4
years.
A
Subway
operated
here
for
a
few
years.
It
acquired
its
current
form
in
2018,
and
they
tried
to
transfer
as
much
as
possible
from
the
legend
to
the
patinated
walls
in
the
current
renovated
version,
so
there
are
still
musical
evenings
under
the
heavy
arches:
concerts,
karaoke
parties,
DJs.
As
a
visitor
to
the
living
room,
you
can
easily
get
lost
in
the
already
too
spacious
and
zigzag
space,
separate
yourself,
watch
a
game
or,
based
on
the
floor
pattern,
even
checkmate
in
a
live-action
chess
party,
so
that
in
the
end
you
can
say
who
is
the
king?
The
selection
on
the
beer
front
is
otherwise
great.
Dreher
Gold,
Dreher
IPA,
ANTL,
Pilsner
Urquell,
Calsberg
and
Kronenburg
1664
are
on
tap,
but
sadly
average
in
terms
of
wines
and
spirits,
but
above
average
in
price.
If
you
want
to
eat,
there
is
a
pie
available,
if
you
are
only
interested
in
the
exact
time,
look
behind
the
face
of
Casanova
above
the
counter
laden
with
disco
lights,
believe
me,
he
will
suddenly
appear.
It's
good
that
we
noticed
what's
existence
is
not
obvious.
It
would
have
been
a
shame
to
miss
it,
because
this
is
also
a
sophisticated
pub
in
Buda,
and
it
would
be
good
to
go
to
its
announced
events!
//..
the
"Show
me
a
pub!"
quoting
myself
from
a
facebook
group...//
