The
950
Ft
gyros
'with
everything'
is
well-layered
and
flavourful
-
no
need
to
add
any
sauce
--
with
a
bit
of
a
carrot
greens
taste.
The
meat
surprisingly
was
room
temperature
within
the
30
seconds
we
took
to
get
to
a
table,
even
though
the
streetside
counter
blasted
heat
during
purchase.
What
happened
in-between
I
still
don't
know.
Perhaps
hungarians
prefer
lukewarm
meat
and
carrot
greens?
Perhaps
the
chicken
meat
(850
Ft)
is
heated?
Still,
much
cheaper
(~3
EUR)
than
my
comparisons.
Overall
better
taste
balance
compared
to
Dutch
kebab
(5
EUR,
Groningen,
Den
Haag),
but
the
meat
is
more
lean
than
German
kebab
(7
EUR,
Soul
Kebab
in
Hamburg).
I'm
not
sure
I
could
ask
for
even
better
taste
balance
for
the
price
and
the
halal
label.
The
500
Ft
baklava
was
disappointing
-
it's
big
(as
is
everything
in
the
store),
but
part
of
the
dough
was
uncooked;
I
found
it
lacking
flavour
in
the
pistachios,
honey
and
cooked
pastry
dough;
my
partner
found
it
too
sweet.
The
baklava
was
kept
on
the
counter
so
it
was
also
room
temperature.
I
would
have
preferred
a
smaller,
warm
piece
with
better
taste
--
or
maybe
it's
supposed
to
be
heated
at
home?
Regardless,
try
a
different
dessert,
maybe
one
of
the
large
looking
watermelon
slices.
The
halal
label
is
noteworthy
because
most
kebab
in
budapest
isn't
halal
and
there's
to
my
knowledge
only
one
halal
butcher.
Interestingly
half
of
the
customers
seemed
non-muslim
young
professionals
sitting
outside
or
having
takeaway,
while
the
rest
were
muslim
using
the
indoor
seating.
The
interior
is
quite
beautiful
and
has
a
lot
to
look
at:
the
counter,
multiple
well-placed
mirrors,
clean
looking
kitchen,
beautiful
decorations
at
the
walls
and
a
dome
roof,
large
paintings
and
religious
symbols.
Tasteful
and
professional,
more
thought-out
and
less
tacky
than
most
fast
food
branches.
If
a
hotel
was
decorated
like
this
restaurant,
it'd
be
4
to
5
stars.
