Had a really nice experience here. The athmosphere was stunning with the decoration, smell, and music as we stepped inside. We ate upstairs which I’d really recommend, dont forget to take off your shoes hehe. We had Tibetan steamed buns (Tingmo), Momo with meat, Spinach Grey Cattle with Bulgur and 2 pots of tea, sweet Butter tea and Tibetan tea. Everything was really nice, definetly recommend it hihi.

Great atmosphere, calming music and friendly owner. Be prepared to take off your shoes if you want to sit upstairs on the gallery. The food was good, but it was microwaved and therefore all the oil kind of pooled on the plate. Big portions for decent prices. Would recommend.

Strongly Recommended, because this restaurant has its own feeling and the gallery is just awesome next to the good kitchen. Be prepared to take off your shoes and sit on pillows if you want to go upstairs to the gallery however, not to mention a little bit of extra heat but it definitely worth it. The kitchen has a good selection you can get a dish for a thousand as big as mountain. Strongly Recommended.

Very nice owner, delicious food (especially the spicy dish), cozy place. The Indian Masala tea was inredibly good. The butter tea was for us too salty, but I won't blame it as it's maybe the way it has to taste. No service at the table. You have to pick everything up and bring everything back - like in Tibet (as the owner told us). The only thing is - the food could be warmer. But the rest was awesome. And also great price.

Nothing is enough to explain. The best place and best owner in Budapest. There are lots of options with spicy and without spicy 🌶 The atmosphere is also so good, the music and the smell of the incense are amazing. Strongly recommend

Cozy place for a Tibetan dish. Very tasty experience for a reasonable price! Big portions, kind staff. Next time I will try something form the big list of teas served here. The Bakáts square was just renovated, it's nice to walk to this place as well. Recommended.

Nice and interesting place to taste the Tibetian foods. The owner was really nice and helpful to us when we chose the dishes. The foods were amazing, interesting and delicious taste for me and the portion was enourmous. The price was even very affordable and logical one. Highly recommended place.

Little but really cozy. Kinda cheap, delicious and the owner is super kind. Absolutely recommend this place. I have been there today with Missionary friends and we have tried the Yak meat. Really tasty and unique. Loved it.

Amazing place! Totally hidden little gem of a restaurant. I had the chilli yak and enjoyed it. We also tried the traditional Tibetan tea with yak butter and salt. I tea is something completely different from what I knew but definitely worth a try. The service is very friendly and completely honest. I paid exidently with a 10.000 HUF bill as instead of a 1.000 HUF bill without noticing it. I was told I had payed way to much and he handed me back the 10k bill. He even talked German with us. Very nice place.

My favourite place to eat in Budapest. The atmosphere is truly outstanding, dishes are unique and very tasty, prices are right, service is excellent.

Budapest surprised us with a variety of cuisines from all over the world. One of the pleasant surprises was this lovely Tibetan restaurant. The momos are delicious. You can feel that they are prepared with love and from the heart. The owner is a very nice and hospitable person.

It was on my list for a long time to try this place out and there was no disappointment. Everything was delicious but the Tibetan bread and the lama tea were especially of my liking. I will definitely come back to eat again.

We visited Budapest from the UK and were excited to try NamGyal as we have never had Tibetan food before. It did not disappoint! The food has such unique flavours and is very well priced for huge portions. The momos were especially good and we had to come back a second time to get some as they had sold out. The owner is very friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. Definitely visit here!

Such a wonderful gem. I came for lunch and dinner in the same day: the vegetables noodles were amazing and the grey cattle with eggplant was very rich and meaty with a really nice texture + flavour from the eggplant and deep umami flavour. Also my first time having Tibetan food. The owner is also so lovely; he told me his English wasn't great and so I helped him with some work he needed in English. After I left he refunded my card payment for my dinner. The prices themselves are also outstanding for the high quality of the food. Also a lovely seating area upstairs with no shoes. The tea is also delicious. I wish I stayed here longer so I could come back and try everything else

Food is really very delicious, I recommend the restaurant either if you want to try something new or for daily meals, there are variety of choices to choose between.

The owner, Namgyal is a great guy, the food is authentic Tibetan, the atmosphere is genuine, and you can also support a good cause leaving some tips for the Tibetans in Exile.

I haven't been to Tibet and thus cannot comment on the authenticity of the products, but the owner is a very kind and polite Tibetan man who makes tasty soul food for good prices. There are also veggie options. It's small and cozy. Would love to be able to go back after the pandemic.

Tasty food, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere and a nice owner. What else could you ever ask for?! Strongly recommended, I loved this place and loved the owner who was extremely nice. Also, don't forget to try the special Tibetan tea!

Very good food! Spicy means super hot here, be careful with the spicy ones. There was a nice mixture of scents. Service was great, they are kind and thoughtful! They offer big portion for a low price!
