The Vienna Gate in Budapest offers an incredible experience. From the top of the gate, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city. The grandeur of the historical buildings, the magnificent bridges spanning the Danube River, and the city's charm all become apparent from this unique vantage point. Moreover, from the top of the Vienna Gate, you can also enjoy a beautiful view of the Danube River. The changing colors of the water and the boats sailing along the river add a touch of serenity to the experience. It's a perfect spot to capture stunning photos and create lasting memories. Visiting the Vienna Gate is a must for any traveler who wants to appreciate the beauty and magic of Budapest from above.

(Translated by Google) You know, dear Readers, when you ask a person, "why did you like" the Viennese Gate? I found myself, and from then on I had to get to the grammar school from Naphegy through the castle, and for the remaining two years until graduation I ran either through the Viennese gate, or through the Ilona stairs, or through the Water City gate to Toldy. After a few years of marrying a little castle girl living near the Vienna Gate, this long-seen, much-seen part of the castle wall as a fortress has become a permanent part of my life. It is worth coming and inquiring about the past through readings, engravings and paintings. I look forward to seeing you, I am waiting for you, but I only have 25 years left, so hurry up so we can look over Rose Hill from the top of the gate together.

Old medieval town gate surrounding by parks (outer side) and historical buildings (inner side). The current gate was erected in 1936. on the 250th anniversary of the liberation of Buda from the Turks. Worth to see; dont miss this part of Castle District.

VIENNA GATE The Vienna Gate is situated in Vienna Gate Square, at the northeastern tip of Buda Hill in the Buda Castle District. As the name suggests, it was the port connecting the Castle with the highway to Vienna. In the medieval era, it was referred to as the Saturday Gate due to the Saturday markets that took place in its vicinity. In 1896, the whole gate was demolished. The current gate was restored in 1936, commemorating the 250th anniversary of Recapturing of Buda. Don't miss the opportunity to explore it!

It is not the most interesting place to see in Budapest. It is nice it is part of your route but if you are not wanting to come here for a specific purpose it is not the must visit place in my opinion.

Amazing! This medieval entrance to the Old Town was rebuilt in 1936 to mark the 250th anniversary of the castle being taken back from the Turks. The gate is not all that huge, but when Budapest children are loquacious or noisy, their parents tell them: 'Your mouth is as big as the Vienna Gate!'

Pretty gate marking the southern entrance to the old town of Buda, short but steep walk from the Metro Station. It is open to climb up and admire the views, which it seems not a lot of people do, making it a nice calm place to relax and admire the views…

(Translated by Google) An interesting highlight of the castle's lookout points. It is a pity that as a tourist we did not know what we see from here, because it was not even informed by a photo guide or one or more, very imaginative 3D "sculptures" in other places ... (Original) Érdekes színfoltja a vár kilátó pontjainak. (Translated by Google) The Vienna Gate is located in the 1st district of Budapest, in the Castle District, on the Vienna Gate Square. It got its name from the fact that it was possible to access the country road to Vienna through it. Designed by Jenő Kismarty-Lechner. The statue of a rushing angel on the castle side of the gate, as well as the relief-sculptural-inscription decoration of the gate, are the work of Béla Ohmann. The connecting section of the Bastion Promenade was formed at the top. There are automatic barriers in front of the gate, which are designed to limit the number of vehicles entering the castle. Local residents, taxis, BKV buses, as well as employees of the castle offices and hotel guests are entitled to collection. (Wikipedia) (Original) A Bécsi kapu Budapest I. kerületében található, a Várnegyedben, a Bécsi kapu téren. Nevét onnan kapta, hogy rajta keresztül lehetett rátérni a Bécsbe vezető országútra. Tervezője Kismarty-Lechner Jenő. A kapu vár felőli oldalán álló, rohanó angyalt ábrázoló szobor, valamint a kapu reliefes-szobros-feliratos díszítése egyaránt Ohmann Béla alkotása. A tetején alakították ki a Bástya sétány összekötő szakaszát. Automata sorompók állnak a kapu előtt, melyek a várba behajtó járművek számát hivatottak korlátozni. Behajtásra a helybeli lakosok, taxik, BKV buszok, valamint a várbéli hivatalok dolgozói és a szállodavendégek jogosultak. (Wikipédia)
