We booked the triple room and stayed 5 nights there in October 2023. The location is great, just beside the M2 and M4 subway station. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staffs are friendly. It is a great base to explore Budapest.

Great Hotel! Amazing location in Budapest (you can easily walk every tourist point from it or take the subway). The room was super nice and clean, and all the staff was so friendly that we felt like home

This is an ideal value for money, fairly good breakfasts, near two metro lines. Staff friendly, within walking distance of the city center. I recommend for unpretentious tourists who want to get a very acceptable service for a small price.

Well, I would give this hotel about 70%. Its location is perfect, breakfast is perfect, employees were nice. Now for not the worse part. The walls are made out of paper. When somebody in next room is taking a shower or closing a door, you think its in your room. You even here people speaking. The water in the shower was not very warm but ok.

Fantastic, cozy rooms, minimal but great breakfast, nice staff, clean rooms, metro station, train station, bus stop all in 100m radius, close to fast food chains, all around great place.

This hotel is in a very convenient location, about 3 minutes walk to the Budapest Keleti, busses are right outside the hotel, subway and trams are also close by. The staff are very friendly and helpful and spoke English very well. Our first room was a bit small, but clean. After we changed rooms, it was bigger and better and away from the traffic. The bed is comfortable, a mini fridge, a closet with a safe and the bathroom and shower is nice. The breakfast has a decent selection (breads, rolls, croissants, cereal, cheese, yogurt, sausage, eggs boiled and scramble, and a good choice of coffee and juices). The reception is on the 5th floor, you have to ring the front desk from the outside so they can open the door and then take the elevator to the reception. Also, the elevator does not go to the 6th floor, so you'll have to walk up 2 flights of stairs if you are on the 6th floor. I will recommend this hotel if you are visiting Budapest.

I stayed at the hotel for a week. I have to admit that the photos on the Internet show something much different from reality. The price wasn't high. I had a small room, but still convenient for 1 person. The room was: +Clean +Really warm (I visited in winter) -Had view on the inside garden and not on the street at all, which was..a bit disappointing. -The decoration was the bare minimum. Green carpets, orange curtains, brown furniture and all that made it look a bit poor. Also + nice breakfast (not something mindblowing, but ok) +Really friendly staff -Bad wifi connection. I was near the reception and barely had wifi. The MOST important though: Amazing location. Next to bus and tram stop, metro station, train station and a huge square. It's not far from the city centre and there a few places (restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries) to eat. It's a good choice for an affordable trip.

I have been a guest at 6 floor and 4 floor, I don't recomand this hotel, for people not used with cold, cold the room, cold the bathroom, not cozy, not warm.. Definetly not suitable for families with children, unless you are used to shity conditions and your room is located at the 5th floor, that floor makes the booking score accomodation. So only the 5th floor gets this score. You might find a problem with the elevator as well. Ask before accepting the room. The hotel was nice probably 20 years now and maybe it is nice when it is warm outside. Instead I would give this place 5 point for the breakfast and for the people working here that are exceptional. Also, I would give 5 point for the location. Choose carefully!!

We are 2 adults and 2 kids, we had 4 beds room. It was very spacious and clean. The bathroom with the bathtub was nice and clean. Breakfast was good and satisfying, big choice of ham and sausage. Beds are not brand new, and my husband couldn't sleep well, but as for me, they are quite comfortable. Bedsheets and towels were snow-white. The hotel stuff was helpful and nice. The location is great, and the view from the room window is beautiful.

Very nice and helpful stuff, I had done a mistake with booking, booked the room for a wrong date. A young gentleman att the reception fixed a room so we could sleep, also arranged that we got refund from booking, although it was non-refundable. Ac works nice, breakfast with good food, the location is perfekt.

comfortable hotel, good breakfast and kind staff. room was very clean and comfortable. staff is very kind. breakfast is very delicious and enough. there are always hot water available at the bathroom. the only missing thing is slippers inside the room. location is close to downtown. there are some bars near the hotel gate. some alcoholics are gathering in front of the hotel gate. if you rent a car, you couldn't find a park around the hotel. I got the fine after I have parked the following street.

Me and my friend visited Budapest and stayed at this hotel. It is very basic but clean and staff very friendly. We took full advantage of hop on and off bus service. It's an effective way of going around Budapest. Shuttle bus service from airport is cheapest way to get to hotel and back. Try and book for return at the same time.

I had a nice experience at Baross City Hotel. It was very close to a train station where I dropped on my way from Debrecen and location is in the city. Staff are friendly and assisted with enquires. Marianna saw to laying of my bed and its cleanliness. The day I was to depart Budapest for my home country, the driver had come with a car five minutes before departure time I gave to the staff of the hotel. I recommend Baross City Hotel to would be visitors to Budapest.

Rooms seemed to be quite basic but fine if you're just after a place to sleep during a stay in Budapest. The included breakfast is very good!

The entryway to the hotel was difficult to find and then the hallway was dimly lit. Once we got to the reception area the staff was helpful and carried our bags to the 6th floor. The window overlooked concrete roof supports. Carpets were stained and dirty. There was a noticible stain on one of the bedroom walls. The most alarming issue was when it started to rain water dripped from the electric light in bathroom. Exotica booked this room and we have always been satisfied. I cannot recommend this place at this time.

Great hotel, SUPER helpful staff at the front desk, nice people! They all speak perfect English. Just 50 meters from the Budapest-Keleti station. Close to everything. I will definitely stay here again and good price.

If I could give one star, I would. This was horrible! Firstly, some of the staff was rude and short, the hot water ran out three times (!!) even though they told us it was a “one time thing”. It was dirty with floor to floor carpeting with stains, a spider web in the corner, dust in the ventilation system, and no elevator up to floor six, only to floor five. We had to leave our room key every time we left the hotel but would then have to wait in line several times after returning to the hotel to get our key back. The shower was leaking, and the TV was probably from the 1800s… It took us around 24 hours to get the fridge cold, because they had turned it off (I support saving power and the planet, but if they know we are coming, can’t they turn it on?), it was also 29 degrees celsius when we arrived, and they had also shut off the air conditioning. They didn’t even have a luggage weight, so we had no idea how heavy our luggage was when we left. All in all, would not recommend, and we are not coming back. If it wasn’t for the fact that we payed before hand, we would have left on the spot. If you are considering a hotel in the same area, there are 4-5 different ones, and you should pick those instead. The location was great, with the metro line just beneath us.

My husband and I are perfectly okay with no frills hotels. But Baross was filthy and quite frankly disgusting. On top of that it is also located in a very undesirable (putting it very nicely) part of town. There is absolutely no way this is a 3- or 4-star hotel. It only gets 1 star because 0 stars is not an option.

The hotel is easy to find, the receptionist is friendly and approachable, the rooms are clean, bathtub is also available, refrigerator but doesn’t have water cooker, which is very important for me coz i always drink tea..Breakfast is also good ,they have variety of Food and drinks to choose .

The rooms are super basic. The shower curtain is so long that you can't be in the tub without standing on it... Kinda gross. The breakfast could have been a plus cuz the food was fine, but there was some moldy toast bread on the counter. Do you know how long it takes for that plastic loaf to mold?! The great location and comfy mattress are the only upsides to this place. I guess it's ok if your standards are low.

Altogether an OK place. The room was fine, but I was missing extra outlets for charging electronic devices, but there was only one outlet by the bed and it was for the night lamp. The shower was not meant for long people, a bit of problems with hot water, which turned up in the end. Breakfast was great - good amount of choices. I especially loved the choice of bread types. Our room was next to service room and one night the washing machines were so loud, I couldn't sleep, so that wasn't nice.

Very clean. Friendly and efficient staff. Good selection for breakfast. And its near to everything. Get the 24hr pass for trains and trams and it gets you everywhere in Budapest. Beautiful city! We will definitely be back and choose to stay here again. And good for kids too. Brought our nearly 2yr old cheeky boy. 😊

This hotel looks nice on photo but not in real life. Room cleaning should be more carefull. Seems only bed was fine. But carpet, bathroom wasn't. Also there was a mold on bathroom curtains. Breakfast was fine and substantial. The personal was friendly and helpful. But when the internet goes down late evening they can't help until the operator start work in the morning. That was sad, because this was our first night abroad and we have no other connection.

Although the hotel is a bit basic, it is very clean and the staff are friendly and very helpful. It's very handily located near the main train station and trams and buses run frequently and consistently right outside the hotel entrance. Very easy to get to and from by public transport or by foot, but pack your walking shoes as it's a good half hour walk to the river. Our room was very clean, the shower was brilliant providing loads of hot water and at high pressure. The only thing that could put some people off is that the locals gather around the station area on an evening. The breakfast room is a bit cafeteria like and generally busy. The breakfast itself isn't going to win any Michelin stars but is plentiful. There does seem to be an issue with eating tackle though as knives are as rare as rocking horse poo. I'm not a fussy person, but I don't accept mediocrity. I would stay here again quite happily.

If I visit Budapest again, I will stay at this hotel only. Really friendly staff, good breakfast option. Subway, railway station, bus every transport is at closest. MacDonald, Burger king, KFC everything at just 200 meters walking distance. Rooms are comfy, heaters working really well

I had room with three separate beds, the room wasn’t hot at all, could be a little bit cleaner though, but it wasn’t something catastrophic I would be scared to stay in, the air conditioner was little bit louder, but nothing you couldn’t survive. People on the reception were friendly and breakfast was ok too. For the prize it’s amazing hotel with great location near underground line M2 which we’re going almost everywhere we needed.

Good location, near different transport options - bus, metro, train. The rooms are almost fine - old furniture but fairly clean. The breakfast is one and the same everyday, but the quality is OK. The rooms on the 6th floor do not have access to the elevator. The staff was fairly friendly and polity. As a whole - it is OK if you do not expect high quality.

this hotel has around the clock reception, luggage storage, very good location close to the keleti railway station. breakfast is mediocre at best, rooms are worn out and our air condition did not work. but for this price it is difficult to complain, it is a good price.

Everything was perfect. Big clean rooms, conditioneer, instant hot water, no noises from outside, good breakfast. We surely stop here again when we will come in Budapest.

When you first arrive, it is only a single door shared with other businesses on the premises. You need to follow the instructions on the door to gain access. Once in, there are 2 elevators and a set of stairs. Reception is located on the 5th floor. Reception staff are all friendly and go out of their way to help. Rooms are clean but basic and very dated. The first room we had the mattresses were lumpy and springs popping up. We were changed to another room whose beds were better. However, there was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom. We personally bought drain unblocker and a lemon air freshener, which helped a lot. They do not come with kettle as standard. You need to request this at reception. Breakfast is a continental breakfast consisting of cooked meats, cheeses, and pastries. Breakfast is served from 7am til 10am. However, if you arrive after 9am, there is very little left. Location wise, the metro station is across the road. There are only 3 stops from the hotel to the city centre. Overall, this hotel worked as a base for us to put our heads down at night.
