Great service, served quick on a walk in, barber was very friendly but the cut was rushed and not very detailed. The fade i asked for was a but sloppy and parts of my hair were quite uneven as it was styled first, rather than cutting my hair to how it naturally sits (obviously I didn't realise this until i got back to where I was staying). The haircut was nice and the barber was really perfect. However, be sure to carry with you some cash in the local currency as the card payment is not accepted and check twice how much you pay. The person behind the counter told me that I could pay in Euros and said first that the total - 8100Ft - corresponds to 18e (which is pretty accurate). When I gave her 22e (leaving a tip of 4e), she took her calculator and did a new conversion using (1e = 300 FT - which is really far from the current rate where 1e > 405 FT) and asked me to pay 27e instead of the 18e. I ended up taking cash from an ATM nearby, paying and leaving a tip in FT, and it was still 7e less than the price they wanted me to pay in euros...

I’m a foreign who lives here for 2 years and the only reason I’m going to this barber shop is the slick website and easy appointment booking system. Rather than that the place is so mediocre, the barbers just don’t cut well simple as that and I tried most of them. Each time the haircut comes sloppy and uneven which is kinda annoying considering the 7000 ft for a men haircut, so overpriced! Plus out of around 12 barbers 80% are calling themselves “masters” or “senior” which increase their price. Anyway I won’t recommend the place.

I made an appointment for lunch time due to lack of options during the day. I got there 5 minutes before and left after 20 minutes later, since nobody wanted to cut my hair. The more ridiculous part of this experience was that the lady mentioned that the person that was going to cut my hair had a delay, but that didn’t stop them of cutting the hair to 3 guys that arrived after me. If I had time and patience I would still probably be there. Amateur service at its finest.

The receptionist does not perform her job well. When reserving a time spot, did not mention anything about hair length being a factor, so my reservation became unimportant. Who's job it is to ensure that the customer will be served? wasted a bunch of money on transport, and cashed some out for no reason because they only accept cash

Terrible experience! I booked a hot towel massage and a shave with a straight edge razor. What I got was a barber who did not even greet me, used a machine 90% of the time, cut me in 2 spots and was finished in 15 rather than 30 minutes. I was then told to delete the original 1 star review for a voucher to make up for the terrible experience. When I got there for the “make up” appointment I was told I did not have an appointment. Waste of time and I do not recommend this. Perhaps they only treat international travellers so poorly but it’s a scam!

Had my beard done here at Black Sheep. It was easy to make a booking online. A nice welcome and a really good job making my beard look good again. Only 4 stars because i was not able to pay with card in a big shop like this in a big city like this. 😊

Worst shave I’ve ever had. Barber was incredibly rough, no use of hot towel or any preparation. Left my skin red and irritated. Additionally his hands were dirty and I could smell the cigarettes in his fingers when he was touching my face. I got home and looked at myself in the mirror and couldn’t believe the patches he left. Insanity. Would not recommend.

I have been a customer of this barbershop for a half year. I liked everything. But today they told me that if I want to use the toilet, then I have to go to the restaurant on the corner, buy something and go to the toilet from them. How is such a service possible in a barbershop?! It's in the city center! Such a simple service as a toilet for customers. This is impossible! I will never come back here again. It is an insult!

This place does not offer walk ins despite it not being busy and about 6 barbers hanging around twiddling thumbs. Have walked 2km to get here. Google needs to do better. Said it wasn't busy, never said appointment only. Cool dragster outside.

Very nice staff, great results. Also, you can get a whiskey or a soda while waiting. Booking is recommended, but sometimes pop-in appointments are also an option

The atmosphere and service was good, but when I got the "haircut" it was terrible. Showed the barber a picture of exactly how I wanted my haircut and it was nothing like in the picture when it got done. They cut too much of my hair, (because their hand were shaking all the time) even though I said cut just a little bit and it was spotty in many places and uneven. Asked for a beard cut too, they didn't cut any of it at all, even though my neck got cut with the machine many times. The worst experience with a barber, wish I never went to them. (Thanks Márton)

Plus points - didn't have to wait once i had an appointment. Haircut and shave itself were decent, but the best but not the worst and decent price by American standards. Negatuves - Very untidy, as soon as you walk in its like a cut hair explosion on the floor, doesn't seem like anyone cleans the floor the way you would expect for a normal barbershop. There was even hair pushed under the rubber mat. Also. The counters were dirty with other people's hair residue. The equipment didn't seem like it was disinfected or cleaned between uses. All in all, it seems to be a very popular place but I w wouldn't go back. I've never wanted to shower so quickly after a haircut before.

Asked for skin fade and didn't get one. Asked to cut only 1cm at top. He cut too much. Didn't cut the style I wanted. Not a good haircut for this price. My appointment was at the Karoly shop, 14 July, 6:30PM

This place is very over hyped. The barber didn't care for details, worked around 20 minutes on my hair (with beard) which is hardly enough. In New York my barber works at least an hour on my haircut. Overall, not an awful haircut but not an amazing experience. I wouldn't hesitate going to a less over hyped barbers in the city I'm sure they do a great job.

The best barbershop in Budapest. Especially I'd recommend to choose Kovalszky as your barber, he is the best ever.

If you are looking for a good barbershop, this is the place to go. I had Alkos as my barber and he made me a perfect classic pompadour. He knows exactly what he's doing and takes his time. When back in Budapest ill visit again.

I needed a haircut while traveling Europe and I passed this barbershop on the way to the ruin bar. It caught my eye and looked like a good spot, the following day I stopped by without an appointment. They were nice and friendly and let me get on the list and not even two minutes later I was in the chair getting a cut. Good spot, solid haircut and good staff. Would recommend to those traveling or living in the area.

Rushed haircut. Not well cut and unfriendly staff as well. Very overpriced. If you want to treat your self with a nice time get a new haircut, go somewhere else.

I've been going to Reni to get my hair and beard done for more than 4-5 years now, and I am always satisfied with the results. The place has good vibes, the staff is always nice, and they offer you a free drink as well while you wait. Also, there are various hair and beard care products available for sale for a really good price. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a good shape up.

My first ever haircut out of my country. I was greeted by this super sweet lady (sorry forgot her name) I was very nervous because I’m that guy who only visits my hair dresser. But such a nice experience at this place. She asked me exactly what I want, did a bit of cutting and asked me if the length was enough and only then went on doing the other side. Super sweet super skilled. By the time I was done with my haircut, I was real happy with the result. For sure if I ever visit Budapest again, I’m coming with Shabby hair to get it cut here.

I did not even have an appointment, but got served within less then 5 minutes of waiting. The barber who cut my hair and beard did not really speak English but he understood every word regarding hair that came out of my mouth. I wanted to have a low fade and thats what he delivered. In addition to the fade I also wanted to get my beard lined up - once again: my barber (Mario) delivered. The interior is well matched and stylish. There are several couches on which you can comfortably wait to get a nice cut. The fade & beard lineup set me back around 30€ which is a common price tag for this service in Budapest. Overall: I can recommend to go there, if you enjoy a nice barber experience & want to look good right after you get your hair cut.

I was in town as a tourist and upon arriving couldn’t help but notice all the great looking barber shops in town. Tamás gave me a great haircut and we had a great conversation. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Was skeptical because of some of the poor reviews as of late but Bandi cut my hair and it turned out great. He did a 0 fade and fixed up my beard. He did great work, held wonderful conversation, and had enjoyable energy. Thanks for sharing your time, energy, and expertise. Blessings and peace.

Barber doesn't know what to do. I showed the photo 10 times, with each action it asks if it’s not short, and how to cut further it's the same as when you go to the service, the mechanic will ask how to fix your car

On 24/01/2023, I had an appointment for a haircut at 15:30 with Ákos. I arrived at the saloon at 15:35. After 5 minutes waiting for the receptionist coming back to me, she told me I arrived to late and they will not perform the haircut I scheduled. Ákos, who’s the hairdresser I used to go to since October 2022 didn’t even talked to me even being in front of me. Pretending these were “the rules”, even if it’s written nowhere, the dark hair receptionist and then the blond hair one showed an absolute non professional behavior. Unfortunately, this saloon is not constant on the quality they provide. I can’t recommend anymore BlackSheep as a professional hair saloon in Budapest as I was doing from years recommending it to everyone coming to Budapest.

At least for 3-4 years now, I go to the Black Sheep Barber Shop. My favourite and go to barber is Kornél. He is absolutely the best! I cannot recommend him enough.
