Nice and cozy, the workers were kind and there's a wide variety of tea (and other drinks). Would definitely recommend going with friends, or even by yourself e.g. if you're looking for a place with nice atmosphere and drinks to study. (And you have to try this place if you are a tea-lover.) The little biscuits next to each pot were also a nice suprise. A little tip: When you make a reservation, ask for a place on the top floor if possible (in the middle or by the window). 2 reasons I give 4 stars, and not 5: It wasn't a big problem, but we had to wait for more than 30 minutes for the tea to arrive even though it wasn't a busy day. And the other reason is, one of the tea we ordered tasted awful, but that's just my personal opinion, so it could be different for others. (All the other tea were delicious though.)

Kind of a hidden place but cozy and nice. Friendly staff, tasty tea and good prices. Totally recommended for a relaxed afternoon . Check the price..they are cheap. 😊. Marlenka cake with chocolate or walnut Zweigelt (red and semi sweet wine) Irsai Olivér (white and dry wine) Mango-orange punches. Amazing 🤩

Once in a lifetime experience. This place would not exist where I live in the United States. The journey begins by entering a nearly unmarked door. You then descend stairs to the counter where you are told to take off your shoes and place them on a rack. You then turn the corner to see a seating area that appears to be a giant version of those carpeted cat playhouses. You find an open level then climb up to it using ladders. A member of the waitstaff partially climbs up to take your order before doing the same to deliver the tea. This place would be incredible even if the tea was lackluster, but it is the best I’ve ever had. The menu is full of pages of various types of tea described in detail. Choose multiple varieties so you can experience just how diverse the taste of tea can be. If you make it anywhere near Budapest, go here. -9.6/10

The coolest teahouse in Budapest. Excessively kind staff, amazing teas, cozy corners with pillows, rad music and magical athmosphere. :)

It is a really interesting place with a cozy atmosphere, the service and the prices are nice. A great variety of tasty tea, the dessert marlenka was too sweet for me but for its price is good.

Cozy hidden tea place that’s like an indoor tree house of sorts. Really nice to go to and just relax after dinner. I’d go again to try their hot chocolate. We got the tea menu with marlenka, it was alright.

This is a tea house with a very special atmosphere. You need take off your shoes before entering the tea room. The room is decorated with tents and carpets. Waitors sometime even climb up the stairs to deliver the tea. They have a wide variety of tea that tastes authentic. This is absolutely a great place to check out if you're a tea lover.

Unbelievable place, secret and cozy. Tea selection is super wide, and stuff more than friendly. Interior is a bit unusual, but very cozy.

Great vibe and great concept to get a cheap and delicious cup of tea ! You feel like a cat, climbing to get a comfy spot to drink.

Nice tea, 70+ kinds, we had chai. Amazing walnut malenka. This has a special atmosphere and is a uniqe place. The staff was in a hurry and stressed. But it is still a 5 due to the idea and interior of the place.

The place has vibes but my big problem is that it is dirty as hell, and I am not talking about a “upsi, I forgot to clean last week” kind of dust… Nop, seriously, I am not picky at all, but the walls, the corners, the lamps, had layers of dust 🫨 I took some pics. One is not very clear but I circle it on purple a huge line of dust that was just behind our heads 😬 In some corners (also a pic) from distance I thought it was a shelve! LoL and it was a huge dusty spider web The tea was cool, but again, it took around 30 minutes - to arrive. Which I kind of accept it, as it was good…my really problem was the dust :( :(

Cozy place but the waitress was so tired and looked very overworked. It took 20 minutes to take our order, and then another 20 to receive some of it. We had to go down to the bar to request the rest of the order. It's best to make a reservation before you visit as the place can be quite full.

Altair Teahaz is a really cool place with a wide selection of interesting teas and beverages. It is a little hidden but definitely a gem in the city. The atmosphere is great very chilled and a great hangout spot.

Very cool idea for a tea house if you’re open to something “less traditional”. Wide selection of teas but they have other drinks, too, even shisha at the smoking section. Good location but the entrance is a bit hard to spot, so keep your eyes open. And a piece of advice - make sure not to have smelly feet out of respect to the other patrons as you’ll have to take your shoes off. 😉

Super cosy tea house with indie themes. Very unique somewhat treehouse - esque layout. Tea was yummy and sitting on the floor with pillows felt very cosy 🍵.

That was a surprise! This tea room looks like a human sized cat tree, the music is great, the waitress was lovely. Id come back anytime!

Exquisite white tea brewed with love to perfection. Ambience is so needed in this world. Very peaceful and communal but also with private space. Owner was very sweet. Cake was delicious too! We loved it here!

Younger brother of Sirius Teaház(a minute walk away ) from Altair. :) Staff are nice and energetic. The place itself is very unique. Not exactly a ruin pub themed tea house. And the tea itself is strictly okay. But for the price of a pot. It's a killer buy. Update in 06-Apr-22 : we went to that non-crowded side. Unfortunately this side of the room is just dark, dingy and the exhaust pipe from the bathroom runs to the window and it's not insulated well. It was stinking. Also staff is overworked and service took 30'. Knocking off a star.

It's like a secret club, tree house, jungle gym and a warm hug meet to run a tea house!! And the staff is so nice! Amazing service, even in this maze. This would be a perfect place for a cold winter day. If you go to Budapest and didn't go here you would be missing out on a quintessential experience

Nice cozy place and great tea! It’s tough to find the place as there is practically just a wooden door with no sign 😆

Finding this place makes you feel not just like a local, not just like a local insider, but like a local insider who knows the true off beat path. A very cosy place, where you can easily hide for a solo reading and thinking session, or an intimate chat. There are a few rooms, and the main one has several floors, constructed in what seems to have been a high-ceiling space. The vibe is dark-mellow, think an after party after a heavy metal gig—slow heavy metal is what's playing too— but infused with tea. A lot of very nice tea, from a long and varied menu (there is an English version, you just have to ask). Card payment possible!
