We had a great time visiting this park. Lots of opportunities for good photos, it's a huge park with lots to see and do. We had alot of fun playing in the fountains and recommend this park during your visit to Budapest. You cannot ride scooters in this park so you have to leave them at the entrance.

The square is a nice open place with several monuments: the Monument to the Soviet Red Army, the Memorial for victims of the German occupation, the Ronald Reagan monument and others. You can find the US Embassy right next to the square. The space used to be occupied by a prison in the 1800's.

(Translated by Google) We used to walk here well with the doggie 😊🐾 it's true, we miss the runner from here. However, the park is tidy, the fountain is cool and spectacular in summer, and the playground is fine. (Original) Jókat szoktunk itt sétálni a kutyussal 😊🐾 igaz, a futtatót innen hiányoljuk. It's a little place that I found by surprise. It's very nice and one of the only Soviet place you can find in Budapest. You can also see the bound between USA and Hungary. It's well kept. I recommand this place if you want a little bit of history.

Gorgeous view. However the square is under reconstruction, until 2022, so if you make the hike expecting to see the square itself you might find yourself disappointed. However the view itself is definitely worth the trip.

Make sure to take a look because there are different events specially during summer time. If you come in August/September you might find some fairs and try local food. It is only one block away from the parliament.

Pleasant place but be very aware of the scam of the food vendors, asking for every food they will charge before you buy! Otherwise, you ended up paying $25 for a piece of a sausage! Be very very cautious…

This is a "politically significant" square as it celebrates Hungary's achievment in gaining freedom from the Soviet Union. There are statues of both Ronald Reagan and George Bush in recognition of the part they played in ending the Cold War and supporting Hungary in it's fight for democracy. The square itself has some seating areas and a children's play area as well as a section of fountains.

(Translated by Google) Freedom Square is one of the most prestigious squares in the city center, which is easily accessible from the Parliament through Kossuth Square. In the middle there is a huge park, where locals are also happy to relax. The square is home to several large banking centers and the American Embassy. Until 2009, the Headquarters of the Hungarian Television was also located here in the Stock Exchange Palace building. Although the name of Szabadság tér, the II. the World War II Soviet “liberating” (later occupying) monument - somewhat controversially - still stands here. After the fall of the regime, they planned to overthrow it, eventually leaving it as a memento of war and fallen communism. The renovation of Szabadság Square took place in 2003, when parks and playgrounds were created, followed a few years later by an interactive fountain, which is still a great favorite of tourists and locals to this day.

Very interesting square. Try to find out everything about all of its different monuments.

An absolutely lovely square, with plenty of seating, to sit and watch the world go by. There's a delightful little cafe in the centre, which is inexpensive for its location, and I enjoyed it so much I happily visited it the next day too!

Nice place for a short walk. There are some interesting monuments, you can see a part of the Parlament from there.

Budapest is such a great tourist destination with lots of cafes, restaurants, bars and tourist attractions. What better way to walk off a meal than to stroll round one of Budapest's fine squares. At night these squares are teaming with people, many sitting down, consuming alcohol and yet everything is orderly, not a sign of trouble and no mess. The locals are a credit to their city.

Really nice place to visit. There are many benches nearby under the trees so you can relax a bit if you are going towards the Parlament Building or City Center.

A nice park, with a good mixture of greenery and monuments. It’s quiet, and the parliament is visible off in the distance. A nice place to spend some relaxation time.

A little hidden gem. What a great park to walk through with an amazing history. They filmed part of Evita here, there is a statue of two U.S presidents and other historical figures. Definitely worth a visit

Nice park with different interesting things. • be sure to find the mini sculptures of Kolodko. • wonder why there are monuments to American presidents Reagan and Bush. • check Citizens' Holocaust Memorial. P.s. It would be nice to remove that ugly monument to the 'Soviet liberators'.

A very beautiful and interesting place to visit. Also very close to the Parliament building. Within the area of the square, you can see the Soviet War memorial and some other interesting memorials and statues, including those of two former us presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush.

Pretty central square/park in the middle of Budapest with nice buildings and architecture surrounding it, as well as monuments and fountains inside. It is located right in the middle of Budapest, so you’re almost certainly going pass through this place when walking around the city to see other landmarks and sights. There’s a nice circular café in the middle that’s a nice place to get some drinks, and the Soviet War Memorial at one end.

Didn't get that much information about this place but the monument and structures are really historical and great.

Fantastic architecture and strange to see the only communist monument right next to the American embassy

Spent an entertaining evening here with lovely drinks at the outdoor bar, but it's absurd to have a communist monument in a country that historically hasn't been treated well by the Soviet Union. The dogs in the park don't seem to mind that, though.

Really beautiful square with several commemorative monuments. Do your own research on some of these as they can be a bit controversial. Lovely aperol spritz bar in the centre.

This place is powerful for someone to understand modern day Hungarians and their culture.

Large and open public space with nearby museums, entertainment for children, and vastly overpriced tourist trap “traditional” food vendors. Insider tip: Walk a couple long blocks up the Main Street and find a better restaurant that you can sit in and eat better at. The walk with burn off those marzipan and chocolate calories.
