Although it has a wide variety of animals in the zoo, it does not do a great job in giving good living environment to the animals. Polar bears and penguins are kept in a very small area and living outdoor in hot summer day. Hope the facilities can be improved soon.

Be prepared to put aside at least 3-4 hours at this zoo and garden as there is a lot to see and do for the whole family. The animals are very well kept up for, and were quite sociable with other visitors. The tiger even put on a good show by roaring to the crowd for a few minutes drawing in many people. Do be aware as some of the buildings have different closing times then others. Overall this zoo and garden was fascinating for a lot of reasons, mostly due to them showcasing animals that aren’t present in many other zoos, and also their abundance of interactive exhibits for adults and children.

The zoo is well kept, the animals seem healthy and their enclosures are clean and safe (for them and visitors alike). There are plenty of places to grab something to eat and drink, so you can spend several hours wondering around and being surrounded by animals. That being said, the lack of clear path instructions made it difficult to find the places you want. There are almost no written signs in any international language, which is honestly so weird. How difficult would it be to have something written in English to have some fun facts about a certain animal, for example? They don't even translate the names, some will habe their Latin name, but nothing else. There are international guests as well, why wouldn't you want them to also feel welcomed?

A great zoo, we spent about 2 hours there and saw most of the animals there. Tickets are not expensive and you can enjoy a beautiful afternoon. There are several shops and small restaurants inside so you do not have to worry about food or drinks during your visit. Beautiful place for kids as well as adults!

An enormous zoo with loads of animals that I hadn't seen before. To see the entire zoo you need at least 3-4 hours. The zoo is split into different regions but as there is not a designated route you do end up walking in circles a bit to go back and see animals missed. My favourite were the goats in the petting zoo, giraffes, brown bear, kangaroos, elephants and rhino. I did feel sorry for the polar bear as he looked very distressed pacing in the enclosure. He also seems to have a neck issue. There are many buildings to go inside some of these are very hot with other animals like birds, fish, monkeys etc. You could easily spend an entire day. Some animals have shows at different times but these are in Hungarian so I couldn't understand but it's cool to see the animals fed etc.

It was a very nice experience strolling around the Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden! The Spring/Summer time gave chill-cool-hot weather, which drove us to get some Ice balls to eat while walking inside the zoo. All of the animals are friendly and lovable! Though, there are some needed protection. 😊 The entire place is clean, but some parts have normal (animal) smell. So, if you are looking for a place to get your kids and entire family to have a bonding with, try to visit this zoo! 😊

Everything is dirty the animals have to little space. You can see that they are suffering in this conditions. The floor is dirty and the animals look in a bad shape. Loro park or the others zoo - es try to make them comfortable but here the hippos have the space of one little room. I don’t know if mouse could live in this little room what even a hippo. Crocodile is the same no space at all and everything is dirty. The people are very unfriendly here to. It just sucks that animals have to hurt because there is a “zoo” and people can make money. On another note the map of the zoo is unreadable and you almost can’t find all the animals. It’s the worst zoo i have seen

(Translated by Google) We can spend an adventurous day at the zoo. We can admire countless wonderful and rare animals and plants. We can discover ever-expanding attractions. You should go back often. A bit confusing is the clutter in a couple of locations and the lack of information. With a phone application, all this could be done in multiple languages. Maybe there will be such a development as well. A must visit! Talán lesz ilyen fejlesztés is. Látogatni kötelező!

One of the best decisions we made during our stay in Budapest - to visit the amazing zoo! Aside from all the amazing animals and the beautiful botanical garden, we also had the opportunity to see a newborn baby gorilla - the unique Indigo! Go there, right away! And prepare at least a few hours for a walk.

It was a cold winter day but many places are covered, warm to maintain the temperature of the country where the plants and animals lived. The petting experience is fantastic. You can even pet Ostriches. The shark aquarium was very hard for me to find but enjoyed almost 4 hours in the zoo.

Oh, my gosh this place is huge!! You can easily spend a whole day here. Get a map of the place right after the entrance as you will surely get lost otherwise. Tickets can be bought online, at a window or on a machine (way faster). There is so much to see and do (feeding sessions, petting zoo, science sections, places where you can get really close to the animals - vultures, lemurs, butterfly room, bats room). These were my favourite places! The decor is mesmerising and amazing in scale. There are multiple stop point where you can sit and enjoy some great meals and refreshments. Also, smoking sections along the way. The variety of animals was astonishing. All well kept and looked out for. With large enclosures and off-public hours.

In part a nice small zoo with old character. The smaller animals seemed happy enough. But we left very depressed about the sad state of some of the larger animals. Three separated lions who were clearly very distressed, with one lioness obsessively and maniacally walking in the same circles all by herself. She even carved out a route on the ground. High sign of distress, it seemed. Another lion roaring and constantly looking for a way out. Then there was one sole polar bear, looking unhealthy and very distressed and alone. Also walking obsessively in exactly the same patterns. Three rhinos were in separate small enclosures, with one constantly obsessively making holes in the ground. Also looked depressed and bored. All had small enclosures and we deemed it animal abuse to be honest. In western Europe this would NEVER be allowed or seen in a zoo. And then there was one lonely tiger, all by himself, who seemed so depressed and bored that he hid and slept all the time. Really, how can this happen and be allowed in Europe? I will have to make a report with Four Paws or other organizations. It ruined my stay in Budapest, as I cannot stop thinking about the sad lives these animals lead.

Beautiful zoo, lots of play area's for kids. You can spend the day here. Hungarian snack food is nice.. Some less seen animals include giant anteater, Hungarian hairy pigs. They have animals from different continents. Plenty to see and play. Recommend it.

Had the best day ever today. The most amazing zoo we have ever been too. Lots of amazing animals more than most zoo have to offer. Lots of space for them. Really loved the polar bears and the baby gorilla. Beautiful grounds and loved having a mulled wine when walking around in the cold January weather. Would highly recommend 😊

Great place, well organised, a lot of animals from all countries around the world. Easy ticketing service, parking the car was easy to find nearby. One problem though.... inside there is no way to pay by card. It is not ok, especially when you go with your family. Cash only inside if you want to buy food or water. A big minus for this.

I really enjoyed the Zoo. We decided to spontaneously have a stop there when passing through Budapest. There is so much too see and you can easily spend the whole day if you give yourself some time. Plenty different animals and indeed all are good to see. Different theme areas with some nice detailed decoration provide a nice flair. The flora and fauna is also very nice and looks really taken care of and also clean. There are plenty small snack and drink stations, which especially in the summer is very welcoming- prices are very reasonable. Definitely worth a visit and I can absolutely recommend.

As someone who always goes to the zoo when visiting a new city, I was eager to find out what one of Europe's oldest zoos had to offer. Dating back to the late 1800s the zoo has quite a few special animals that you don't find at most zoos, like the Komodo Dragon. The place is big so you will spent a few hours there for sure (I suggest you wear your comfiest shoes since you'll have quite some walking to do). As for the animals, in general they look healthy, well looked after and for the most part their cages look big enough. I was a bit disappointed though seeing the poor seal they have alone with no companion. I hope in the near future they can add a second one like they did with the sea lions. All in all it's a pleasant experience for young and old so if you have the time to spend a couple of hours to visit the park ,definitely do so. I enjoyed it.

A very calm but beautiful zoo. There is a lot of variaty of animals you can visit. The entry price is relatively cheap compared to other European zoo's. They are working on a new part of the zoo which promises to be extremely modern.

Nice friendly and big zoo with wide range of variety of animals from aquariums to mighty elephants. Well kept animals, but you can see some were so bored kept in confinement areas... like the rhinos, but they were friendly and allowed us to strike his/her horn. Definitely must visit when next at Budapest

One of the largest zoos I've ever been to. Make sure you have around 3-4 hours if you come visit. Located really close to the entry of the park and contains a couple of 'nature museums' as long as animals. The entire zoo is divided into continents that each animal comes from, and some cages are extraordinary! You can literally walk next to the eagles. Watch them feed the penguins!! They're the cutest

One of the best ‘Zoo’ experience. Great staff, normal price (8000HUF- 2 adults plus 4 years old kid). Great weather and walking around for more then 3 hours. First plan it was around 1hour.😃 we will be back and re-visit places inside that we skipped.

Honestly a great zoo, I was at many zoos but this one was by far the biggest and had the most animals I've ever seen, they even had a polar bear! Get ready for at least a 4-5 hour experience as the zoo is really big. The Savana part is amazing and I'd really recommend going there and spending at least half an hour.

The zoo is very big you should start from early morning, the staff inside the zoo are very nice, however the staff at the gate are the opposite, they checked our tickets three times and other Asian couples as well, we all were fine the tickets were good and they didn't not even apologize for their attitude and no smile at all very unfriendly. But anyway the zoo worth visiting while in Budabest. The Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden is the oldest zoo in Hungary and one of the oldest in the world. It has 1,072 animal species and is located within the City Park of Budapest, in the centre of the city, unusually for a zoo. The zoo opened its doors on 9 August 1866. The park has 1–1.1 million visitors every year.

BUDAPEST ZOO AND BOTANICAL GARDEN I tend to avoid visiting zoos due to ethical concerns, but we decided to go to this particular one because it's one of the oldest and most famous in the world. I had also heard positive reviews about it and was intrigued by some of its Art Nouveau-style buildings. However, it turned out to be a genuine disappointment! The spaces were maze-like and in a state of neglect. Many enclosures were empty, lacking any animals. The areas where the animals were kept seemed much too small. Lions and all the feline species were confined to cramped cages, as were other animals, such as squirrels desperately trying to escape through the bars. The only real highlight was encountering lemurs moving freely inside one of the buildings. I'm puzzled as to how this place still maintains its reputation and high ratings.

One of the attractions in Budapest you have to visit. The zoo has a lot of animals, very well organized by continents, huge areas to explore, kiosks to buy food and stuff. Recommend to come here in the morning so you have time to see it all!

You can really learn something there!! They put a lot of effort not to only entertain but educate in a real creative way about the animals and the place there from. You can wacht the animals up close. Went there on new year day and even though it was cold you saw the employees doing there best for the animals and making sure the place they stayed was clean and not stressful.

Love, love, love. As big zoo lovers and membership holders at our local zoo we had to take a visit to the Budapest Zoo. It was amazing. Easy to walk around as very flat, animals are grouped together by categories and the map is easy to follow. Not only does it have a wide variety of animals but there are so many areas where you can learn about the animals and their history. You can easily spend many hours here, we spent at least 4 hours walking around and managed to see everything. Some areas were closed due to reconstruction of enclosures but it had very little impact on the amount you can see. There are many different walk through areas where you can go in with the animals and a petting zoo area where you can spend time with the cutest little goats - they will try to eat anything you have with you, even your map of the zoo! Would definitely recommend a visit if you love to see different animals.

The most beautiful zoo I have ever visited! Clean, safe and kids friendly. It takes almost 3h for a full tour so get there early to save the day.Access is supported via the regular connection by metro yellow line and you can also find many activities right next to it. An amazing diversity of animals and greenery lays out there.

(Translated by Google) The most beautiful zoo I've been to. Everything is well organized and marked. Each group of animals has its own corner. There is a lot of greenery ... Also much better than in Belgrade where animals feel. The most interesting is the artificial hill, where there are insects and SUV where there are visitors on one side of the glass and tigers on the other. Enjoyed thoroughly the stay at this well kept zoo. The zoo is easily accessible by the M1 metro line and the park in front of the place is also enjoyable on its own. The entrance fee is very reasonable and although the zoo offers online prepaid tickets, we found no queue at the gates. The zoo is divided into continental areas where animals are displayed according to their provinence. Most animal pens are very well kept and aptly decorated according to the continental theme represented. The zoo is also very child friendly and all amenities are catered for well. The petting area of the zoo is especially enjoyable by young kids.

The best zoo I've been to so far. The variety of animals is amazing. We've walked inside the zoo for around 5 hours and still didn't see everything. The zoo is very well kept, it's very clean and the signs are clear. There's a helpful map (you'll need it, it's a very big place with lots of paths going everywhere) and an information booth in the entrance. For families this is the perfect place to go. Even if you get tired of the zoo there is a very pretty park outside with lots of things to see and lots of playgrounds. It was a fun day for our family.

I give it 3 stars because I have visited the schönbronne zoo in Vienna, firstly, the design of the zoo and access to the different animals needs some changes to facilitate the transition from species to another. However, the zoo has variety of animals and other activities. Different restaurants and soft drinks shops are also available but of expensive prices. For the children, you can hire a small car to pull it and you can access most of the places with it.

(Translated by Google) As a child, I was greatly influenced by the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden. Due to weather factors, it was always planned to visit once a year, which was set for the period from late spring to early autumn. If we want continuous operation, it is inevitable that there will always be areas that are closed or under conversion. And it is not the fault of the zoo that, due to human behavior, newborn or offspring animals, possibly breeding birds, have to be excluded from visitors. I exchanged tickets for fear of previous negative comments, but I did not regret it. A significant part of the zoo can be visited and can still be a full day program if one wants to see everything. I don’t see it in operation, but I think it would take more staff and not start big giga projects (see the case of Pannon Park and Biodom) while there is plenty to develop. It is indeed true that many animals have small catwalks or places. The tigers are obviously not in the best skin, they are thin enough to be seen when they are walking. A significant portion of the zoo is indeed nicely maintained and beautiful (see Palm House, Butterfly House, Angry House, etc.), while some are really tasteless. Where pelicans are dirty, the same is true of the small lake in the Japanese Garden. At Pákásztanya, you can really barely see through the glass, and this is true of penguins, Polar bears, and seals. I didn't raise the ticket price, that was enough for me (HUF 3,300). The question is how the epidemic will affect the Zoo and how the Pannon Park and related Biodom project will proceed. I am afraid that if it is completed, a significant price increase could occur. Before that, however, it would not hurt to remedy the problems mentioned above.

Drága belépő, minél nagyobb a család, annál jobban lehúzzák őket...A nagysziklában lehetetlen tájékozódni, csótányok mászkálnak gyakorlatilag mindenütt, ahol sötét van. Azóta eltelt időszakban kis gekkókat? vetettek be ellenük, valóban környezetkímélő megoldás.

One of the best ZOOs I've visited. All the animals looked well cared for and happy (as happy as caged animals can be). If you are planning on visiting I would strongly suggest to reserve at least 4-5 hours of your time. The ZOO is very big and if you want to properly look at all of the animals, you need time. I would also recommend going before lunch, as all the animals were basically locked inside hour before the official closing hours and most of the shows and live feeding happen before or during lunch hours. 10/10 would recommend visiting.

Great place for kids! A wide variety of animals and lots of interactive elements to the zoo. Many feedings and shows are scheduled throughout the day so one is sure to be able to attend one. Keep an eye out for turtles and peacocks roaming the grounds! The petting zoo is also a great source of excitement for young kids, with the staff providing (at times) carrots to be able to give treats to the animals

Amazing! Compared to other, larger zoos, Budapest's allows visitors to experience and interact with (some) animals at much closer range, this is perhaps most obvious with the exotic birds of Africa and Australia - see the photos. No wait if you purchase tickets at one of the automated ticketing machines on either side of the main entrance.

Hands down the best zoo I’ve visited. People complaining about the size of the enclosures or the well being of the animals clearly know nothing about them and are acting as if they do. The enclosures are big and clean, animals are fed and have everything they need. The entrance fee was surprisingly low and the zoo is HUGE! Consider it when planning to visit, you need at least 4 hours, to see everything. The only “complaint” someone could have is that the signs that are not translated so if you are interested in reading all about the animals you need to translate on your phone.

Great place to visit. It took us about 3 to 4 hours to see everything. There is a lot to see during that time. You get a map at the entrance so you can check what you want to see most. Some exhibitions allow you to walk alongsid the animals, and the petting zoo let's you pet small goats. The prices for things inside don't really differ to those outside, so you can get a quick snack if you get hungry. All in all it's a must see

Extensive area to walk around with lots of enclosures and covered exhibits. Check times for events like tiger feeding, gorilla lunch and Elephant training. All great too see. Plenty of rest areas for drink and snacks. Easily spend several hours here.

A great way to spend a day in Budapest! It's a huge zoo with some amazing animals to see - especially the polar bear, gorillas and red pandas! There is also multiple areas to fill up water bottles, lots of WCs & plenty of cafés to stop and eat & drink at. In addition, there is also some smoking areas on-site. Fantastic for all ages and at a fair price given how much there is to see.

This is a really nice zoo. We planned 3 hrs and ended up spending 6! Animals were mostly indoors so watch out for that whilst walking around as we were going to miss out alot. Get a map at the entrance it will help. In some places you get to actually walk through passage ways near the animals without barriers. Many food outlets were closed during the visit but there's a really nice cafeteria near the exit with delicious chimney cakes and amazing hot chocolate!

I’d give it zero stars if I could. Most animals seemingly suffer in their cages and they are old and ill looking. The Savannah and North Pole animals cannot survive in this environment. You can see it in their eyes. The gazelles and cheetahs had little to no space to even walk around. Especially the polar bear made me so sad. She was so thin, and constantly running around her cage, looking for way out, Desperately. Please release those animals. They do not deserve to be treated this way.

We were in the zoo for almost 3 hrs and only saw half of the sights. The zoo presented different perspectives of life forms from humans, to evolution, to places and the animals that live in them. It was spectacular

Amazing Zoo! Fun for the whole family. Many rare, exotic and wonderful creatures.really good, but we found an unlocked door leading right into the vulture cage. We didn't get eaten!;-;So they just need to remember to lock the cage doors.other than that great great zoo perfect for families.

Big zoo with plenty of animals to look at, infrastruncture is a bit worn, but animals and plants are well loved and taken care of. No english translation for animal descriptions. Get some local currency or an app beforehand to pay for parking. Not worth to come in before 10am as all buildings are closed until then.

great place to spent time in budapest, zoo is well organised, no empty spaces with a lot of facilities and also some contact with animals, only downside was that no signs were in english or other than hungarian language

Very beautiful zoo. Zoo seems small but in reality is really large and four hours weren’t enough. A lot of nice pavilions and many many animals :) Good is that in this zoo you can be more close to animals or you can go direct to their “home”. By most animals you are one meter from them. Nice feel :) The zoo is one from the best I’ve ever seen in Europe ?? Just one small minus are toillets, they should be more clean and modern.

The Budapest Zoo was amazing. I was especially impressed with the childens play areas. They accepted American money but had to take a moment to do some calculations. It was a bit of a walk from the river where my hotel was located and large enough that I was not able to see the whole zoo during my visit. They had wandering peacocks, polar bears, rhinos, elephants and the giraffe exhibit was awesome as the giraffes could reach out and touch you if they wanted to.

  • 4/5 Lydia B. 4 years ago on Google
We spent 3 hours at the zoo and had a good time. We got a lot closer to the animals than at other zoos, which was great. However, non of the information signs were in English, which meant that we couldn't read anything about the animals. Unfortunately, there were many areas that we couldn't visit as they were closed - a reduced entry fee would have been nice. It may be a good idea to take some food with you when you visit as there weren't that many places to eat.

One of the best Zoo's I've been to in a long, long time. It's massive to start things off with a ton of different areas to explore and see. It's easily an all day place to be considering the size and all the animals you can visit. They marine, reptile, plants and so much more. There is a few places to sit down and eat/drink something as well but I'd suggest bringing some food with yourself.

One of the best zoo I have been to. Budapest zoo has a huge range of animals, mammals and fishes and different variety of trees and plants and best part is very thing is tagged so. Kids would love this place lots of different variety of birds, sheeps, plants, snakes, fishes. Also while once you are in this zoo restaurant are available and also we can carry eatables along with us, and very important thing washroom are available so need not worry if you are going with very small kids and they are free. Budapest zoo timing is from 9:00am to 4:00pm . For tropical plants and animals they have created tropical environment. Must go to this zoo.we had the opportunity to go closer to the animals zoo

  • 4/5 Virág P. 3 years ago on Google
A mosdók rendezettek voltak...

Awesome as always. I wish there were hyenas though.. Otherwise there are a lot of monkeys, a lot of indoor exhibitions, and a lot of fun ways to observe animals (Super dark rooms, meercat tunnels, tiger's Jeep etc. Adopting an animal is super cool, I encourage everyone to "gift" someone a year-long parentship, it includes 3 tickets when you can join the zoo for free. One out of these is not restdicted to a date, so you can go anytime you want with it!

An all-day programme. A place with very beautiful gardens and pathways, lots of shade is available during the summer. There are so many things to see, I can't even name all of them. Wide range scale of wild animals can be seen, they keep them well fed, they get to go outside. Altough I am fighting with the negative thoughts of these animals being "locked up", they seem to have a nice life. There are a few restaurants available at the territory of the zoo, plus many buffets as you walk around.

  • 4/5 Boglárka B. 3 years ago on Google
It is a very informative and interactive Zoo. Not my favourite in Hungary, simply because it is a bit crowded and it is in the middle of the city and the railway is just next to it. That probably stresses the animals a lot. Also at the moment 1/3 of it is closed down, that might be useful information. I recommend the langos place on top of the cliffs, the pricing is a bit high, but the food is good.

Excellent place to spend a day, especially with your kids. Lots of animals and well designed terrariums. The “restaurant” has great food in all sorts and shapes. The layout is not small in size, so make sure you have a lit of energy and time to spend. Get your map from the info kiosk and plan the routes before you start. Leave at the end things that are not that interesting to you, as you might not have sufficient energy to enjoy in details.

The joy of children :) Beautiful and organized. I strongly recommend to buy tickets online from the official website, to avoid staying in the row and waiting. The zoo has lots of spaces, so take time and reserve at least half a day in your journey for visiting it if you will go with children.

A large variety of animals and very interactive for children. However I couldn't help but notice the animals were very docile and some what miserable. The zoo grounds themselves are lovely although I found the enclosures particularly small for some of the larger animals which was disappointing to see. And I couldn't help but think this added to their depressed like states. Definitely put a few hours aside to explore!

Nice zoo to spend up to half a day with kids. The animals seemed to be enjoying their places. Tiger was sick during our visit, hope he is doing fine now. Also, there was a new lion who was a bit furious on visitors. Of course he needs time to settle down. Lots of birds and houses based on geography or continent. Overall very pleasing visit.

The animals have really small areas where they live and the animals didn't look like they were doing okay. There was something hanging out of capybaras butt (blood and something was hanging out) and there was few turtles walking on the roads. Otherwise a really nice place.

I actually had kinda fun until i saw the polar bear. A really big zoo - we needed like 4 hours to see everything (at least we think it was everything). The staff was friendly, english wasn’t a problem. Smoking is allowed in certain areas. The petting zoo and many other things were closed - but since it’s still off season that’s okay. Would not visit again though - kids would love it for sure, so probably good for families.

The Zoo was amazing, even for us 30-year-olds! :) We took around 2h and couldn’t see everything because it was near closing time, so prepare at least 3-4 hours, especially if you are with children. There were plenty of restrooms, cafes and benches and the staff we encountered were very friendly. We went in Feb and still it was full of animals, most of them outside. There is even a petting zoo and a lot of playgrounds so I suppose it will be super fun for kids. The ticket was very cheap, we paid around 15 EUR for 2 people. Definitely would recommend!

It has plenty of bars and restaurants inside where u can stop and have a drink or eat something. We spent 3 hours inside walking and visiting. A beautiful place .. but I recommend going early .. although the park opens until seven in the evening, most of the animals sleep or disappear after 1 o’clock .. I did not feel that there was enough care in the fish aquarium and animals .. the tanks were dirty, and the animals appeared a little tired. .. But in general, it is a good place to visit, and there are discounts for students and universities🤩

I likes it very much. But you should at least spenf 2 hours or more there. So don't go just before closing. For me I had too little time.

The Budapest Zoo is the oldest and largest zoo in Hungary. It was the only one of its kind in the country from its opening in 1866 until the 1950s, when the first rural zoos were established. It is located in the 14th district of Budapest, in Városliget, and has been a nature reserve since 1986. Location and area of the Budapest Zoo The zoo covers an area of 10.7 hectares at the west end of the City Park. In its immediate vicinity are the Amusement Park, the Budapest Circus, the Gundel Restaurant and the Bagolyvár Restaurant, as well as the Museum of Fine Arts. Part of the Zoo has been carved out of the Zoo for part of the Amusement Park, but the area of the Budapest Circus and the two neighbouring restaurants were once part of the Zoo. What's more, the Széchenyi Baths area was originally reserved for the later expansion of the garden. As a result of the land reclamations, by 1912 only 11 hectares of the original 18 hectares had been left. Zoological collection The Zoo exhibits around 5,000 specimens of 733 animal species. Its species composition provides a broad overview of the diversity of life on Earth. The collection includes animals from every continent, from the most popular mammals and birds in zoos to reptiles, amphibians, fish and a rich collection of invertebrates.

It was great to visit Budapest Zoo again after 4 years. I went there with my family and friends, we have enjoyed our time. It is one of the must see attractions in Budapest, it is located nearby the Hero's square. I would recommend using public transportations to get there as finding free parking slot could be challenging.

Some of the cages and tanks are empty or not well mantained, but it is worth see it. We spend 5 hours there, there is no free parking spaces, in the morning you can park near the entrance (300FT/hour). I recomend to buy the tickets through machines close to counters, or online. Inside there is enough places to eat and drink, many children playgrounds.

You need a whole day for this place. It's amazing. I feel bad for the elephants, giraffes and other animals that need more space, but as a whole it's a nice experience. 👌🏻

Wow, this zoo is enormous! The staff is friendly, the surroundings are impeccably clean and spacious, and they have nearly every animal imaginable. I spent countless hours there, and it still wasn't enough. It's an ideal spot for a laid-back day. P.S: Be prepared to cancel other plans; once you visit in the morning, you'll end up spending the entire day there.
