What can I say about this place. This place is amazing. By far the best experience I had for visiting a club. The place was packed and there were many areas ranging from food to sheehsa to beer and alcohol. We spent 2-3 hours there and still didn't wanted to leave. Loved this place

VARKERT BAZAR The Varkert Bazaar is situated at the base of Buda Hill, beneath the Buda Castle. It underwent a complete renovation in 2014. During the 19th century, Pest, located on the left bank of the Danube, experienced rapid urbanization and development. Prominent buildings and pedestrian areas were established along the riverbank. On the other hand, Buda still featured older 18th-century structures. In the early 1870s, the concept emerged to construct an elegant building with a garden at the foot of Castle Hill. The complex, designed in the Neo-Renaissance style, was built between 1875 and 1883 to enclose the Castle Garden from the Danube side. Originally serving a commercial purpose, its arcaded rows once housed various shops. From 1883 to 1888, the Buda Handicrafts Training Workshop operated in the northern wing, and from 1890 to 1895, the Historical Portrait Gallery was exhibited here. The building also accommodated a women's painting school from the academic year 1890/91 to 1918. In 1884, the first sculptor established his studio in one of the arcade rows of the bazaar. Over the next century, approximately eighty fellow artists followed suit. The building suffered significant damage during World War II, leading to the destruction of the tower on the market's edge and the rest of the complex. From 1961 to 1984, the Buda Youth Park operated within the building, hosting numerous light music events and concerts. Its condition gradually deteriorated from the 1980s onward, ultimately resulting in the complete closure of the structure and the evacuation of its associated apartments. Renovation efforts began in the summer of 2013, with the restoration of one of the garden's highlights, the Triton well. The Varkert Bazaar officially reopened on August 29, 2014. It is a magnificent building with a delightful garden. On its northern side, a covered escalator leads to higher levels along the Castle walls. From there, visitors can take an elevator to ascend to the Castle level at its southeastern point.

It was a great experience. I was lucky that at that time the Festival of Street of Hungarian Flavors was held there (August 2022). You can literally feel how such a festival connects people💃🕺. Simply great! Of course, the view from here is also beautiful...🤩 PS: The hungarian fish soup was fantastic 😋👌

(Translated by Google) Christmas mood. Beautifully renovated. "The Castle Garden Bazaar (also known as the Castle Bazaar) is located in the 1st district of Budapest, on Ybl Miklós Square. It is an outstanding monument, part of the world heritage. Originally a commercial function, its arcades were once full of shops. From 1883 to 1888, the Buda Women's Industry Workshop operated in its northern wing, and from 1890 to 1895, the Historical Portrait Hall was on display here. From the 1890/91 school year until 1918, a women's painting school was housed in the building. In 1884, Alajos Strobl was the first sculptor to have his own studio in the arcade of the bazaar. He was followed by about eighty of his fellow artists over the next hundred years. It was severely damaged during World War II. Between 1961 and 1984, the building housed the Buda Youth Park (nicknamed “Ifipark”, abbreviated as BIP), which hosted many musical events and concerts. Among others, Metro, Bergendy, Elijah, Omega, Kati Kovács, Liversing, Dogs, Kex, Juventus, Mini, Fireball and Chess-Matt played here. [1] In 1980, during an Edda concert, the stone wall of the stairs leading to the park entrance collapsed. Its condition has steadily deteriorated since the 1980s, leading to the complete closure of the building. The flats belonging to it were constantly evacuated. In 1984, the operation of Ifipark ended with the concert entitled Electric Funeral. (Original) Karácsonyi hangulatban. Gyönyörűen felújítva. "A Várkert Bazár (más néven: Várbazár) Budapest I. kerületében található, az Ybl Miklós téren. Kiemelt műemlék, a világörökség része. A hozzá tartozó lakásokat folyamatosan kiürítették. 1984-ben az Elektromos temetés című koncerttel zárult az Ifipark működése.

(Translated by Google) The Fisherman's Bastion is one of the most amazing architectural monuments in all of Budapest, striking for its grandeur and snow-white walls. Masterfully executed arches and arcades, windows and terraces, towers and balustrades attract and fall in love with tourists who want to learn the secrets hidden in this fabulous, as if from paintings, building. Travelers walking through the bastion can mentally enter the Middle Ages and feel like heroes of a historical film. This amazing place no longer performs its defensive function, but has become a wonderful observation deck with an incredible panorama of Budapest. The strange name of the building often misleads travelers. In fact, it is due to the fact that many local fishermen worked in the central square of the bastion. Of course, there were many attacks during that period, so the inhabitants had to guard the fortress. It was the fishermen who got this part of the bastion wall and they were ready at any moment to stop trading and stand up for the city. Eventually, the building lost its defensive character and skilled craftsmen turned the building into a fabulous work of art. Also, in 1906, a monument to St. Stephen was added to the architectural ensemble. Unfortunately, the bastion suffered from German bombing, as did most of Europe. Restoration required not only huge sums of money, but also a long period of time. The initiator of the repair work was the son of the first architect of the bastion - Janos Shulek. The Budapest authorities are now doing their best to protect the historical monument from the effects of nature, as in 1980 another restoration was carried out due to the accumulation of harmful gases and the destruction of a large number of monuments. Due to its rich history, the Fisherman's Bastion was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1987. Few people know, but in St. Michael's Church you can watch a 3D film about the history of Hungary. Only a few tourists know about this opportunity, so there are always few people. The duration of the film is 15-20 minutes. In general, visitors have the opportunity to learn about the history, traditions of Hungary, turning points for the people. One of these is the introduction of tanks by the Soviet army in Budapest. It is important to take headphones and switch to Ukrainian or Russian before starting the film. The second interesting fact is that the seven towers of the bastion symbolize the seven leaders who inhabited the territory of Hungary in 895. The historical monument is open 24 hours a day. Entrance to the bastion is free. A ticket is only required if you want to climb to the top of the building. The cost of climbing the tower for adults is 700 forints, for children and students the price is twice less - 350 forints.

(Translated by Google) Symbol of the leisure and nightlife of Budapest. It opens from the afternoon, at that time it is very quiet and at night very crowded. It is one of the famous "ruin bars" of the city, old buildings of the Jewish quarter that were abandoned and left in a dilapidated state and later recovered as bars and places of leisure and cultural activities. This is the best known, also the most visited. Inside is great, at least I think these kinds of places are great. It would be ideal if it were less crowded. Entering is like entering a city. Rooms, corridors, stairs, patios, space for concerts, bars of different kinds, ... It is like a neighborhood within a building. If the weather is nice, you can spend time here very pleasantly. One always discovers something new detail that previously escaped his attention. The view of the river and the city is unconsciously beautiful. (Translated by Google) I totally recommend visiting these gardens. First of all, because they are beautiful to see and have precious sculptures and fountains. Secondly, and even more importantly, from them you can climb on foot to the highest part of the castle, skirting the old wall and the brick paths. For me, who love this type of castles, it was the best thing I could do. In this way, you will see the castle in its entirety, walking along its not so well known paths and enjoying its beautiful views.

The Farmers Market in Szimpla Kert is a wonderful place to buy good products directly from the manufacturer. Every seller at the market is a real first producer, who brought what they grew and made by their own hands week by week. Here it is possible to buy many types of cheese, honey, jam, syrup, vegetables and fruit, and fresh meat and meat, freshly picked and dried mushrooms, truffle specialties, spices, sandwich spreads. Great choice of homemade sausage. What is common in them is that they are all chemical free and came from the nearby area from the manufacturer. The atmosphere is wonderful, and we can enjoy shopping. Definitely worth a visit.

It is also true that there are times when the traffic of people entering / leaving to just see it makes it less attractive (but that is everyone's fault). If you can have a drink and hang out, don't stop doing it. Even tho it is most popular ruin bar in Budapest, is still worth to go because of always the new crowd there of people. Now during covid not so much but before it always have full table every night with Hungarian and foreign people who want to come and see it. Some of my friends prefer other places but I still like to go 1-2 time every month.

This is one of the most unique places I’ve been to in Budapest: even though Ruin Bars are a big deal in the city, this place particularly fits that definition: all sort of old stuff recycled and assembled in order to have a function as part of this bar. It is a bit shocking the first time to see all sort of random stuff together in an “harmonic” way making it a very unforgettable club experience. I liked it a lot. Visiting Szimpla Kert is on the headlines of all “Things to do in Budapest” lists, so I am glad I had the chance to experience it on my own. I invite you all to check this place out, prices are at the standard of any other clubs in the city.

The ruins have a special style, each with different themed compartments. The most interesting thing is that there is a bathtub seat where people will lie in and drink. The quality of the drinks and the service attitude are very ordinary, no special features, but the prices are very cheap.

Amazing place situated in the old ruined building, with its very old underground spirit. You’ll find here multiply bars with all kinds of spirits and beers. Take your time and explore every room and bar step by step. There is a space outside to smoke with a big projector on the wall. Definitely perfect place to have fun and meet people! I was impressed by extremely relaxed atmosphere, cool venue and a bit doggy style of room which I love! There is a DJ as well and it may turn into a party in the evening time. You can grab a Sheesha and smoke it wherever you like ;)

The place was unlike any other. The concept of the "Ruin Bar" was unique. So much to look at you can't possibly capture it all in one evening. Definitely a must if you would like to experience the night life in Budapest. This beautiful and historic Castle Garden Bazaar is a must-see attraction in Budapest. As soon as you enter the gates, you'll be transported to another time and place, surrounded by stunning architecture and lush gardens. The ambiance is peaceful and relaxing, making it the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The service is friendly and attentive, and the products and services offered are of high quality. What sets this place apart from others is the unique blend of history and modernity. The historic architecture and design are perfectly complemented by modern amenities and facilities, creating a seamless fusion of the old and the new. I'm deducting one star because the entrance fee is a bit steep, and some of the facilities could use a bit of updating. However, these are minor issues that don't detract from the overall experience. To improve the place, I suggest offering more interactive exhibits or guided tours that highlight the rich history of the area. Additionally, more food and beverage options would be appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Castle Garden Bazaar. It's a truly special place that leaves a lasting impression on visitors. I'm grateful to the owners and staff for preserving such an important piece of Budapest's history and culture. If you're looking for a unique and memorable experience, this is the place to be. I would certainly consider returning in the future.
