Perhaps a slightly Offbeat tourist attraction it's actually rather good and certainly worth a visit if you're in the area. This site which has been restored and augmented to include attractive grounds and a museum, holds the Tomb of Gul Baba. The Tomb was built in the Mid 16th Century to venerate him as a patron Saint of Ottoman Hungary. The restored site was a joint project of Hungary & Turkey and officially opened by the Heads of State from both countries in 2018. The museum charts the history of Turkish/Hungarian relationship ad well as the development of trade route between Budapest and Constantinople (Istanbul).

The spiritual conqueror of Budapest city. Gül Baba had left an important signature in transition of the Central European region. There is a history museum beneath of the tomb. One shall visit the place in order to witness historic evolution of ottoman reign in Hungary and to sight see the beautiful Budapest scene.

Gül Baba was an Ottoman Bektashi dervish poet and companion of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent who took part in a number of campaigns in Europe. He died in Buda during the first Muslim religious ceremony held after the Ottoman victory of 1541. The architectural design is so beautiful. Tourists should maintain the sanctity of the place as it’s a tomb. The place is great for taking a little rest in the rose garden. The place is free of charge to visit!

Very nice and unexpected place in Budapest. After going up some stairs, we discovered a well decorated garden and a peaceful atmosphere. We really enjoyed this place, both relaxing under the trees and discovering more about history.

A great place to visit if you are In Budapest for many reasons: - Gül Baba’s story gies back to Ottoman Empire, the museum & garden is designed to welcome tourists from all around the world. We we’re welcomed by a kind receptionist gentleman who speaks Hungarian, English and Turkish too. He gave us the necessary directions. There is no entry fee. They also sell turkish coffee The exhibition shows the history from Turkish times in Hungary hence all explanation has 3 languages - from the top of the castle you get a great view of the Hungarian Parliament - the place also has a beautiful rose garden, which definitely worth a visit if you re in the area. The castle is up on a hill, so walking is needed.

So peaceful and beautiful. An oasis on this bustling, beautiful city. Amazing restoration, with exhibition spaces, shop and cafe. Amazing views over the city. Get the 91 or 191 bus from the Margaret ring road, two stops up the hill, but you can walk it if you're able.

Very nice and unexpected place in Budapest. Perfect place to take a rest and enjoy peacefully in a garden. A bit hard to go up some stairs, but I discovered a well-decorated garden and a peaceful atmosphere and suddenly took a rest and had some peace. I enjoyed this place, both relaxing under the trees and discovering more about history. Definitely recommend 👌

It is not so well-known place, so U shouldn't expect dozens of tourists which is a great advantage. In the same time location is convenient and U can easily get there by public transport and some walk. Perfect design and architecture. Beatiful flowers all around. Free exhibition. Nice example of Hungarian-Turkish cooperation and good relations between countries. Definitely worth seeing!

Gül Baba was a Bektashi dervish lived in Budapest during the rule of Ottoman Empire. He was famous for his help and love to local people . Hungarian people seemed to admire his services and attitude. Therefore, even after hundreds of years later, his place is preserved untouched: no new building constructed on it. He cultivated roses smelling very nice, thus people put this nickname to him: Gül Baba means Father Rosa. The Turkish republic built a very nice 'türbe' and museum with the approval of Hungary. Very nice collaboration between two countries. The turbe was very clean and very well maintained. It is located on high hill, thus has a magnificent view of Budapest and river Duna/Donau.

(Translated by Google) A good little walk in town. It is a very nice place and the street leading here is special. The benches look uncomfortable, I didn’t plan to sit on them, I just wondered when I saw them. I also liked the view, only slightly spoiling the landscape with many cranes. For those who have not been here yet, I recommend it to visit. (Original) Egy jó kis séta lehetőség a városban.

Beautiful and peaceful place with a sight to Pest and river Danube. There is free entry, museum, coffee shop and toilet are available for the visitors. Because it is on the top of the hill, a walk on steps is necessary. The toilet is clean and tidy. The coffee shop was already closed because we arrived in the last 30 minutes, so couldn't try that.

(Translated by Google) During a pandemic, the interiors are not open to the public, but the building ensemble is still a spectacular variety for the hiker. No less worthwhile is the beautiful view of the city. Shrine, mausoleum, place of pilgrimage. It is open from 10 am to 6 pm in virus-free times and can be visited free of charge. It is a beautiful place here. You can feel the sense what history left from centuries ago. Free ticket. Beautiful garden. We can see Danube river, Parliament Building, and the other side of river. Springs or under 12 o'clock in summer would be perfect time to come considering the time visit.

Gül Baba was a Turkish dervish and poet. He was nicknamed "Gül Baba, Gül Dede" since he was always carried a rose in his cone(hat). Gül Baba was loved by the Hungarian people during his lifetime. His tomb was restored in the recent past and took its present form. and the tomb is located on the hill on the Buda side of the city of Budapest.

5+ for the old Gül baba, 4- for the reconstructed Gül baba. I really miss the off-the-beaten-track, mystic feeling of the old one. Somehow all these new fort-like monumental walls surrounding the turbe and the gardens steal the show from the turbe itself.

Gul Babas Tomb is both sentimental and beautiful. If you have Turkish heritage, I think you'd enjoy seeing a bit of your culture preserved and safely kept here in Budapest. The surrounding garden is also wonderful and a great spot to soak up the sun in summer and have good views

Gül Baba's tomb in Budapest, Hungary, is the northernmost Islamic pilgrimage site in the world. The mausoleum is located in the district of Rózsadomb on Mecset Street, a short but steep walk from Margaret Bridge. Gül Baba was a member of the Bektás Dervish Order, who died in Ottoman Buda in 1541. And like a Muslim, it was must to visit this place place for me((:

We discovered it by chance, but it's really nice. From the mausoleum there is an amazing view of Pest. The area is clean and full of flowerbeds. In the museum, the receptionist welcomed us in a very positive way. There were 3 exhibitions and they were all free of charge.

I was amazed by this place, it is not large so you can go through all its parts within an hour or maybe a bit more if you would like to read everything... It is very important that they put the description in three languages (Hungarian, Turkish and English) so all English speaker tourists can read it. I really enjoyed and appreciated all the efforts to make it look like this! People who work there are very friendly and helpful

Nice view, quiet place, the Türbe of Gül Baba and the Rose Garden were reconstructed couple of years ago. Walking down the stairs and Gülbaba street you arrive to StLukacs Fürdő or going down in the other side, to Margit-híd (bridge) - in 5 minutes. Walking upside in Apostol street, you can reach in the top of the hill the József-hegyi Kilátó in 10 minutes, from where there is also a very nice view to the whole town.
