Wonderful and somewhat eerie, the turbulent times of the First World War are literally tangible here. From the swamps to flag fires, horses with gas masks to the round table of the powerful players in current affairs. You can even look over the shoulder of the worried Emperor Franz Joseph at his desk. Excellently prepared multimedia exhibition. A must for history fans, not only in bad weather, because this war trauma is deeply rooted in the Hungarian soul and still influences how we think and act today.

An exhibition titled "New World Born - European Fraternal War" was opened in the Várkert Bazaar, which is why the huge statues you can see in our pictures were placed in front of the South Palace. The exhibition - from the happy times of peace to the enthusiasm for war - presents the world of the First World War in nearly 600 square meters: the radical change of the world order until then, the disintegration of empires that were previously thought to be stable, the dramatic change of culture and public thinking.

A beautiful three-dimensional monument dedicated to the First World War in front of the entrance to a museum or exhibition dedicated to the First World War.

We found the installation here, it was night and raining, very cool. During the day it’s not the same. But during the day there were folk festivities. Street food, music.

It is not clear what the monument is dedicated to, but it is fascinating... there is a sense of drama.
