A small statue that always impresses me. Every time I'm nearby I pass by. You can take very nice photos with the background. Some people just walk by, some people are interested. The tram runs behind it. For me the most beautiful shots are always at sunset 🌅

LITTLE PRINCESS STATUE The Little Princess Statue, an iconic Budapest landmark on the Danube promenade, was crafted in 1990. It's a replica of a 1972 statue, inspired by the artist's daughter playfully dressed as a newspaper-crowned princess. A duplicate stands in Japan, a gift from the artist, outside the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space. The original 1972 statuette resides in the Hungarian National Gallery.

A life-size statue perched on a railing next to a tramway, with the Danube River and the Budapest Castle providing a beautiful backdrop for your photos. Definitely recommend! Be sure to also look around for some more curious statues nearby.

You can find this cute statue along the Danube Embankment. The statue's back is to the river and watches the pedestrians along the Danube Promenade. It is modeled after the sculptor's own daughter. This is a copy of the 50cm original piece. The Little Princess is so popular that you can find a second copy in Tapolca and yet another one in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space.

The so called DUNA CORSO... I love this place. The view of Buda castle, the bridges and the Citadell is fantastic in all seasons, da and night. Nearly always crowded place. If you get tired hop on the tram to go on. 🙂 walk and enjoy.

Budapest is one of the most beautiful city that I have visited. Of course there’s a lot of more even beautiful ones but Budapest has it’s unique aura and feeling. This little princess statue is also very popular among tourists as a photo location. Therefore even I couldn’t resist to capture some night photos. Look them through and I hope you like them.

(Translated by Google) Very interesting sculpture. But I think this is a "princess". Yes, and I read that the sculptor sculpted it with his daughter. Nearby there is a map for the blind. Nearby there is a sculpture of a girl with a dog, unfortunately I do not know in honor of what she was erected, but people like it. And on the steps near the Starbucks there is a Shakespeare sculpture, which is what he has to do with Budapest - I don’t know at all. Also offers magnificent views of the palace. Highly recommend a visit.

(Translated by Google) I find very fascinating the fact of being able to visit while walking in the city center enjoying at the same time works of art among "us" as partners in the life and panorama of the city itself, as where this statue is located; in front of which there is an equally pleasant square, showing instead the back to the Danube and the castle, as well as to the chain bridge, thus giving shots, views and even more a very pleasant night view. Easy to reach on foot and also by public transport (metro and tram depending on the starting point). Passable by people with disabilities, families and strollers. I advise.

The sculpture László Márton modelled the statue after his daughter, Évike, when she was 5-6 years old and playing in the garden. She dressed as a princess: laid a bathrobe on her shoulders and put a crown on her head. The father managed to capture this moment and immediately felt that this was a successful work of art. Years later, the capital requested a statue from him and together they found this to be a perfect place for the Little Princess

Behind her, a wonderful view of the Royal Palace opens up, so many try to capture all this beauty as a keepsake. To be honest, I'm not sure why this is a tourist spot. It's just a small statue, and it didn't really impress me. There are so many other amazing things to see around here. I'm a bit puzzled about why this particular statue attracts so many tourists. Maybe I'm missing something, but I expected more from it.

(Translated by Google) The original 50 cm statuette "Little Princess" (Kiskirálylány) statue sitting on the railing on the Danube Promenade in Budapest, Hungary was created by László Marton (1925-2008) Munkácsy - and Kossuth Award -winning sculptor in 1972. The artist was inspired by his eldest daughter born from his first marriage. She often played a princess costume and a crown made from her father's newspaper in Taban, and at home also pretended that her robes were a cloak. This picture prompted her father, the artist, to create this little statue. László Marton writes: “Éike, born from my first marriage, at the age of 5, played in a little princess costume on the Tabán playground. When I saw it, I immediately had an object. I carved the title “Little Princess” It was also placed in an elegant place on the Danube promenade. It became a symbol of Budapest. ““ I modeled it after my own daughter - says László Marton in my studio (2007) - she was about six years old and played in the garden. Dressed like a princess: she put her dressing gown on her shoulders and put a crown on her head "I managed to capture this moment and I immediately felt it was a successful work of art. A few years later the capital asked me for a statue. a larger princess was placed on the Danube promenade in 1990 and a second copy in Tapolca, the artist's hometown. A copy of the same statue also stands in Japan - donated by the artist - in front of the Concert Hall of the Metropolitan Art Center in Tokyo The original statue (1972) is owned by the Hungarian National Gallery.

These beautiful works of art are one of the many beautiful statues in this beautiful city. We were pleasantly surprised by this artwork. Hungarian sculptor László Marton was inspired by his eldest daughter to make this statue. She often played in the Tabán wearing a princess costume and a crown made out of newspaper by her father, and at home as well, pretending her bathrobes were a mantle. The Little Princess (Kiskiralylany) statue located on the Danube Promenade is one of the iconic images of Budapest. It is located near the Elisabeth Bridge on the Pest side, close to another small sculpture, the lady with her dog. This beautiful work of art highlights the background, where we can enjoy the Danube and the Buda Castle. Nice sight.
