I'm not a very good swimmer, but I am good at walking. So when I decided to cross the river, the bridge really did its part to help me out. As far as bridges go this one seems to be suspended by steel ropes. Imagine how strong those ropes must be to hold an entire bridge. Five stars!

A bridge that connects the two formerly divided cities. It offers a beautiful view both during the day and especially in the evening.

This is a bridge commemorating Queen Elizabeth of Austria-Hungary connecting Buda and Pest. It is enjoyable to walk on a sunny day, enjoying the beauty of the Danube and the cruise ships.

Amazing bridge great to walk on especially during a summer day as you get clear views of the Buda castle and other attractions within the city. Large walk paths and close to city centre to get you onto the other side of the river. A definite must visit location especially for the views. Access to the bridge was quite easy with step free access if you go around and walk to the main road. However you can get access straight to the bridge from using the stairs. Can get quite loud and busy but expected for a bridge in a central area.

Elisabeth bridge....is the most famous bridge in Budapest connecting the District V, a very busy High Street, Palace district of Pest with the direct access to Gellert Hill on the Buda side. On the Pest side you will find a very busy day and night life, with beautiful, little and big restaurants, all big shopping centres, incredible hidden places. Near Elisabeth Bridge are also all the big 5* Hotels. The newest addition is the Parisi Udvar Hotel on Ference terre..a must to have a look inside. This part of Budapest is one of the most busiest parts of Budapest and here starts your journey to the Parliament, Jewish quarters, and the renown Kiraly ucta.

Erzsébet Bridge, also known as Elizabeth Bridge, is an iconic landmark in Budapest that showcases both beauty and fascinating quirks. Built in 1903, this steel structure spans the Danube River, elegantly connecting the districts of Buda and Pest. Erzsébet Bridge's historical significance adds to its allure. Severely damaged during World War II, the bridge underwent a complete reconstruction in 1964, faithfully preserving its original design while incorporating modern construction techniques. This blend of old and new creates a captivating visual experience for visitors. At each end of the bridge, you'll encounter the striking Turul bird statues, serving as mythical guardians that enhance the bridge's grandeur. These majestic sculptures contribute to the bridge's unique character and create an atmosphere of awe. One of the standout features of Erzsébet Bridge is its ability to provide romantic sunset views. As the sun sets over the Danube River, the bridge offers a mesmerizing backdrop, attracting couples and photographers alike. The breathtaking scenery creates unforgettable moments and captures the essence of Budapest's beauty. Erzsébet Bridge further adds to the city's vibrancy during special occasions and holidays when it is adorned with vibrant illuminations. The bridge transforms into a magnificent spectacle, illuminating the night sky and becoming a symbol of celebration and joy. Film enthusiasts will appreciate the bridge's appearances in various movies, including the beloved Hungarian film "Hyppolit, the Butler." Its cinematic history adds another layer of charm and intrigue to this already captivating landmark. Erzsébet Bridge stands not only as a practical and picturesque crossing over the Danube River but also as a symbol of Budapest's rich history and architectural splendor. Its blend of steel structure, mythical guardians, and captivating views make it a must-see destination for locals and visitors alike. Immerse yourself in the allure of Erzsébet Bridge and experience the magic it brings to the heart of Budapest.

This bridge looks great at night on a boat or a ship. So many people are posing on it for social media. They forget to enjoy whats right in front of them.

Impressive bridge to walk on during the day and also during the night. A bit shaky when windy, not a good idea to walk near the edge if you're afraid of heights.

Stopped and enjoyed views of the river Danube, Liberty Statue and Buda Castle during a stroll across the Elisabeth Bridge in early March 2023. In the evening, the Danube waterfront is a good spot to enjoy views of the Elisabeth Bridge.

Nothing too specific about this bridge in comparison to Széchenyi Chain Bridge. But a walk along it would be nice since the pathway to the Liberty statue starts on the west side and there is a beautiful water fall there (Gillert hill).

Nice bridge across the Danube river between Buda and Pest. It is 290 m long. Elisabeth of Bavaria, which the bridge was named after, was queen and empress of Austria-Hungary and was assassinated in 1898. For 44 years she had the longest tenure as an Austrian empress.

At the Elisabethbrücke you have the feeling of modern city architecture mixed with traditional and old style. The way down to Tram 2/2M and to the Danube ships is not long.

Whenever I feel nostalgic or suffering from homesickness I think about Elizabeth Bridge and the view across the River Danube as that is the most beautiful scene on Earth to me, so I'm biased. I am defo not alone with such bias - illustrated by the fact that the bridge's decorative lighting was donated by the Japanese State, the people of Japan. Their love for Elizabeth Bridge is not new; I believe, it dates back to the 1970s and 1980s.

I had to cross the bridge to visit the citadella and was surprised by the clean and minimal lines. It’s a bit windy for pedestrians since the cars tend to pass fast.

A beautiful bridge with a side walk for the pedestrians. It connects the two sides of the city Buda and Pest and it is the nearest to the Buda Castle bridge. We walked across it several times and every time we took pictures of the area and the bridge because it is really beautiful place. You can sit and enjoy all the views of the river and the buildings. It became one of my favourite places in town.

Drive your electric scooter there like I did. The weather and the cool air are refreshing and if you go at 5.30am like I did, then your day would be full of energy...

Not as beautiful as Liberty Bridge but still night to walk across in the evening for the city views. You can easily stroll from this bridge all the around and across the Liberty Bridge.

Really cool bridge in trendy white, easy to stroll as pedestrian sides large and comfortable. Fast access to the Citadella in Buda and famous Vaci Utca on Pest side.

How wonderful to be able to walk over the bridge from Pest into Buda, and see and experience the difference for ourselves. Then getting to see the same bridge from underneath on our Danube River cruise. Breathtaking.

I like this bridge better than the Liberty bridge just because you can really see the engineering in the suspension cables that are within an arms reach. Other than that, both are about the same. Great views of Budapest and the Danube, along with all of the other bridges. Good look at the mountain when crossing over with all of the large monuments.
