The place is pretty nice. It has a huge selection of various plants, flowers and trees. And the ticket is really cheap. Of course the most beautiful part was their greenhouses :) Btw I went their on the weekend but it wasn’t crowded at all.

Beautiful , calming atmosphere. Thanks to the greenhouses you can find a variety of exotic plants. There are some fascinating specimens, old trees and rare carnivores!

Surprisingly good! Felt like a little oasis in the middle of the city. If you're into plants, could take you 1.5-2hours to cover. Lots of species in the glasshouse, cacti, succulents, water plants, tropical plants, etc. Outside will be amazing during spring/summer, had rise gardens, lots of type of plants and trees, takes a good walk to cover with benches to sit down. Adult entrance was 1.400 HUF, but there are lots of discounts. Staff could've been a bit nicer (cashier). Definetly recommend.

(Translated by Google) Perfect for a pleasant after-lunch walk. Latin-Hungarian dictionary, if you want to learn, not only to look can be useful. The Hungarian language has already been mentioned on the more recently displayed boards, but most plants lack it, although many probably have it. It was not possible to ask, inquire, ask for help from anyone, which was probably due to the holiday. There are benches, even sun loungers around the small artificial pools. The botanical rarity of the garden is the "living fossil" of the Wollemi pine, the dragon pine. There is also a changing room at the toilet. Recommended place.

Beautiful, very quiet and perfect to sit and read a book or hang out in a peaceful place. Quite small so it doesn't take long to see all of it, but still a great place to see nature in Budapest !

The night light show is fantastic. It may look not big area from the outside but it doesn’t. The whole place takes one hour walking and my daughter loves it very much!

I was really excited to visit this botanical garden. It seems that I walked around the ticket booth area a second too long because the man inside started shouting at me. I just left. I don't understand how you expect visitors to give you money with this poor attitude.

Seriously one of the richest botanical gardens I’ve ever seen. The place is super big and has an enormous variety, especially notable are the orchids, carnivorous and tropical plants sections! Totally a must visit if you are passionate about plants.

For only 1200 HUF entry price, this was an amazing evening spent with my partner! There is both an Asia garden, Tropical indoor garden as well as greenhouse. 5 stars, recommend!

Lovely place. It's not very big but we spent an hour and a half there, could have stayed more if we weren't already tired. I especially liked the Japanese part. The tickets are cheap and there are two subway stations nearby so it's easy to reach.

A very nice place to walk around and relax when in Budapest. It’s quite a small garden, but it’s definitely still worth checking out as a tourist. The plants here are very cool and I particularly liked the Bonsai trees and the bamboo. It’s very cheap for students to enter as they offer a student discount which I was very appreciative of. The gardens are well looked after and the staff are kind. I couldn’t ask more from a botanical garden.

It was a nice walking and Students of Semmelweis’ University can go inside for free! But they should take care of plants and the garden a bit more…

This botanical garden is very nice but the Sakura event was disappointing. The previously mentioned activities were not available or offered at a different place or a different time. The location of the activities weren’t described precisely.

It is a pleasant place for a walk in a botanical garden founded one hundred and fifty years ago. Especially I recommand it in spring when it is blooming. The air in the water lily house is crystal clear. Not expensive even with a photo ticket.

What a beautiful place to visit! Kinda middle of the centre. 600 huf entrance fee for all students. Free for Semmelweis and ELTE students. It’s so close to Semmelweis so it will be best for spending some time! So much variety …

Despite the rainy weather, flowers and trees with blossoms and fruits, palms and exotic plants in the palm houses. Very few visitors today, calmness and quietness, wonderful!!!

  • 5/5 Kriszti V. 1 year ago on Google
Nice and peaceful. We weren't aware of the entrance fee, but we had a fun time regardless.

Lovely botanical gardens, better off going in the summer when the outdoors are more maintained, but the greenhouses were spectacular with lots of interesting species of plants. Watch out for influencers blocking your path for photos!

  • 5/5 Anja B. 1 year ago on Google
Japanese garden are wonderful in the spring. All greenhouse are open, just find the right door.

  • 4/5 Martin H. 1 year ago on Google
Good selection of plants. Although some part of the greenhouse should be properly cleaned.

A small but very varied botanical garden. A gem. Easily accessible by public transport. Very cheap entrance fee, still at least worth 2 hours if you check out everything.

  • 5/5 Tammam H. 9 months ago on Google
The place is cool, actually, but I expected more. For example, you can find a lot of Plants like a vast variety of them from tropical to cactuses to everything. But even though it's really disappointing not to find an aromantic garden. Because it's so good to feel the connection through smelling between us and the plants. But above all, it was really good. You can find a lot of beautiful plants. And especially the tropical ones. The ticket prices for students are really good. 700 HUF only. It's a good place to spend 1 hour to 1 hour and a half afternoon.

A very nice botanical garden curating hundreds of plants coming from all around the globe. It is recommended to plan around 2 hours to stroll through the gardens whilst admiring what this place has to offer.

Very nice calm place in the city. Definatly worth a visit. Rich in plants and cacties from around the world. Only downside is that all the signs are only in hungarian. PS. The greenhouses gives most likely the freshest air in Budapest!!

Tranquil gardens, lots of interesting plants. Benches to sit on both in the sun and shade. Metro Nagyvárad tér.

This is the oldest botanical garden in Hungary, only few minutes walk from Semmelweis klinikak metro (M3) stop. In the greenhouse you will find tropical and sub-tropical plants, also succulents cactuses, bromeliads and orchids. On saturday when we visited they had a market too when you were able to buy hundreds of plants. Peaceful place away from the city buzz.

Very relaxing, even if crowded. Now parts are closed due to covid (closed quarters mainly). About an hour or more is needed to walk around and check everything. Would recommend.

It could be a beautiful garden in the middle of the busy Budapest, but the plants are not in their best shape. We visited this place for the occasion of Sakura festival, there were lots of other people, but still there were dried leaves everywhere and we didn't felt as something wow. Such as we had a good time here, we've seen a lot of plants, trees and did some origami.
